For the TvZ experts, did action misread SHINee's push or was he greedy? I think he could have sacked his 3rd base in favor of more lings/mutas instead of trying to defend two bases

Greedy. Had to be more defensive going for an early third like that. You’re very exposed to a bio bust going for a super early third which is why Zergs will generally always favour getting faster mutas. In saying that, Action was only like 30secs away from having enough mutas to hold. Was great timing from Shinee.

I’ll add that the build choice from Action was pretty bizarre in that last game. He’s one of the best ZvTers around and so I would’ve thought he’d have favoured a more normal build vs Shinee. Bit of a throw from him.

Terran getting hydra busted after he's able to literally click on any point on the map to confirm Zerg's intent, builds 4 bunkers and has SCVs ready to repair.
Imagine stopping that without the ability to scout or repair? Oh wait, it's Protoss.
If 3H Hydra was a viable strat for ZvT, Terrans would have seen nowhere near the success they've had.

If Sharp had anticipated having to rebuild supplies he might've had some hope of stopping that still. All of that excitement just to totally misplay the final game. Action had good reads and vision but flat out refused to build more sunks... Wonder if he felt overconfident and dismissed his opponent already.

Man Action has looked pretty bad for a long time now. Hope he can refind his mojo...
On the flip side, Shinee looked pretty damn good against Sharp.

Yeah he got hydra busted after only committing 3 scvs on one bunker, which didnt even repair until it was another hit from dead, the other bunkers had few scvs. He waited until the last second to stim for extra greed instead of stimming before and getting out for heals periodically. He confirmed that it was pretty much allin and terran can easily survive on basically 3 base income (considering the map) vs 2 base income zerg, yet didnt commit more scvs to repair duty when it was 99.9% clear it was allin.
But of course you look at this d+ tier execution and decision making and make it about PvZ imba.

Best result and highest quality games in all of week one, with Shinee converting me to a fan. What a style. Dude's a wild animal.
I expected Sharp and Action to get out but what was I thinking. So glad I was wrong.
As a sidenote, just watched Mini kill everyone with fireplace tools in proleague so I'm expecting nothing less than flawless victories from here to the finals for ol' Min-bags. There's no chance he would get piano-wired by Calm and roundhoused by Queen to go out 0-2 like Steven Seagal in Executive Decision, leaving daycare center manager SnOw and Mattress Firm defecation specialist Best to fumble the footie and let soma twerk in the end zone for a third time. I've got corn kernels, 100 kilos of Hot 6, and a closet full of diapers rdy for game day. Groups D and E should be fun too can't wait.

So you're saying it was a fairly easy hold for Sharp, and it was 99% all in so he should have pulled every SCV there to repair, and he should not have been greed with stim etc. yet he still messed it up like a D rank. Now imagine not having the ability to scan nor repair, and having to balance between defence and economy because Zerg doesn't have to all in,.... no wonder Protoss have had no answer to it for 25 years.
Also have you (and this is true for everyone too) ever wondered why every season we've always accused some player(s) of having decision making or execution like a D rank, yet those same players if you put them in BSL would suddenly drop 0 game playing flawlessly? Having an edge over your opposition at this level is hard-earned. You don't get to be ahead by playing super safe and making up for it later by skill gap, while your opposition is optimising and cutting corners left and right.

Shine and Shinee making it out first is a hoot. Especially after the Group A outcome
Shinee with the great read and great punish on Action for being greedy AF

Loving this ASL. Very happy with Shine going through and shine2 was great as well. Loving these fun games and the variety we’re getting. I need mini to go deep.

The Sharp vs Shinee TvT was an absolutely amazing game. Easily the best game out of group A, B and C so far (the ones I've seen)
