To be honest the only game Best looked bad in was roaring currents. I think he just expected to be able to greed a bit harder because of the long rush distance and easy defensibility. It only takes a few seconds of error in judgement in a pvz to die embarrassingly. In every other game he was playing reasonably, but his defence was simply mistimed slightly. It wouldn't have taken much of a difference in the game for the results to have shifted quite a bit; when your really good at something, you can run away with advantages. Bests' cannons were a bit too late in the last game, so he completely got wiped. Obviously Soma's economic risks paid off and allowed for accelerated tech timings that best slightly miscalculated. A single zealot in one game wasn't in position and he died-- that honestly happens all the time. He was multitasking at a high level and he flubbed it. It happens. Sucks for him as a person and us as viewers but we all should try to extend some grace and understanding: small mistakes get magnified in these kinds of contexts, pvz probably more than most matchups actually.

Dude your talking past him. He was commenting on how good Soma currently is in comparison to SK and you came back with a statement about SK's consistent high level of play: they arent the same. Soma in theory could surpass SK in actual skill and threat level but never surpass SK's consistency as a top level player; theres a possibility out there where everyone acknowledges Soma is the best zerg in every matchup, every facet of the game, but he lacks staying power. Staying power=/=current aptitude. You werent even talking about the same thing.

Best with the interesting double gate crush which looked good.

Soma winning is expected and that final game with mutas just crushing.

Given how Best managed to take games off Soma. This is probably indicative that Soma might not be as dominating as expected.

Well i'm feeling Snow vs Soma finals which i pretty much expected seeing the r08 bracket alone tbqh

This Best vs soma series deserves a razzie.
I'm sure soma went home and flossed his eye sockets after losing to that 2 gate. He probably threw down the 3rd hatch thinking Best was gonna fuck off sooner, and maybe do a ling all-in of his own.
Overall, painful. Shoulda been a 4-0.
