I think Mini has better chances against Hero than Rush in the finals. I do think Mini is a slight favorite to queen though.
In the event that Mini is able to prove his PvT and beat Rush, I will happily consider Mini the undisputed best protoss in teh world.

The semi-finals are evenly-matched. Anyone can make the finals, there are no favorites.
The hardest road to a win though would be that of Mini, simply because Hero right now is a better PvZ-er than Queen, and Soma, if that matters.
If Queen gets through and has to play ZvZ in the finals he has the easiest road.
Generally speaking these last couple of ASLs have been the most wide-open from Ro4 onwards. That's been pretty cool.

1/4 for my LB's in the Ro8. xD I can't really believe Light lost vs Hero. If you told me this in the Kespa-era I would have laughed because Light was such a beast in TvZ and Hero so weak in ZvT. Hero played well but I also feel Light didn't play that well after G2. He lost so many Valkyries in G3 due to not paying attention. He also had some bo hickups. I wonder if he had won if he had just played full mech every match because Hero looked completely lost in that match.

I don't believe that there's much separation between these players here in ro4 and others like Larva or regulars in the ro8 in ASL recently. Larva's recent win didn't change anything, it was his best performance at a level that he has shown in the past and that regular viewers knew he was capable of.
I general I think the only outliers are Zero (best muta control by a mile) and Mini (best PvZ by a large margin compared to any other Protoss).
In my opinion with the current crop of players there are some people that are rated incorrectly:
- the Terrans: they're not as good as everyone 'wants' them to be, after Flash has left. Royal, Rush, Light. Ofc, relative for each one of them. - Hero: he is much stronger than people give him credit for. He is better than Larva (before his hiatus) and will have his chance at a title.

While I wanted Light to win, I am glad we don't have to sit through a TvT semi.

Not sure it has been mentioned before, but I follow Scan's re-stream and I suggest him to add blank time in the video like the KCM race wars. Last 2 series it was easy to tell the winner of game 3 was gonna win the series, because of the time left on the video. Maybe someone can get the word to him, english cast make the games much more enjoyable

Yes, after watching some recent Hero ZvT, I have seriously questioned my preconceived notions of his ability against Terran and perhaps about reality itself

I think the last few seasons of ASL have taught me that among the top 10 players, anyone can beat anyone on any given day. Except Flash. He stomps everyone and will rarely lose when he has an off day and someone is playing out of their mind.

SC2Links works too https://www.sc2links.com/tournament/?match=701 and no add-on is needed. You just have to wait until the English vod is on YT for this.
Although, I wasn't sure if GoTuNk was actually talking about the afreeca restream bar that occasional popsup when Scan is moving his mouse cursor around.

I'm talking of the actual vid; thanks for the yt thing but they take forever to upload the games

Maybe it's just me, but it did really feel like Light underperformed as Nyoken stated in the cast. That mistake in the last game was extremely uncharacteristic of Light imo. Series was ok otherwise. The mech game on Ascension was really interesting, and hero played it well with the trades and builds so grats to him for another semis.

Yes but light has been underperforming hard in TvZ as well. I just saw him get wrecked in a series with Soma. Same kind of deal with big, uncharacteristic blunders

Hero played fantastic (his anti-valk play was godlike compared to soma's play vs rush in the last match), light made a few critical blunders that cost him games 3/4. Seems like some players just really get their mojo back and play better than ever after their military service (hero, queen) and others just sorta flounder (bisu, effort).
I still think Light is probably the best mechanical player right now but he really seems to have some choking issues in BoX series in big tournaments. He just doesn't have that X factor that lets him play a high-stakes series to his best ability and constantly loses to players with superior mental fortitude. Unless it's the KSL4 and he's just far and away playing way better than everyone else haha.
Really looking forward to the rest of the tournament, after seeing Ro8 results it really feels like any player could win. With flash gone it really seems like there aren't any hard constants any more in the ASL. Really feels like any of the top 10 or so players could beat any of the others if the right circumstances occur.

^ agree. Light might have some issues but a big part is Hero is playing out of his mind. Any doubters should watch the most recent week of KCM

Yes, of course. I too think that hero is playing amazing right now and my comment was not meant to say otherwise. I just think that Light made some rather bad mistakes that compounded into a loss, and as someone who was known for his TvZ prowess, it feels out of place. I'll have to rewatch the games to point out the mistakes I saw, but that ending game mistake in the last game was just an obvious one.
Also, I saw Ideas say Light is the best mechanical player right now, but I disgress. Watching that Soma vs Rush series, I was mighty impressed at Rush's mechanics, and feel like he could potentially be the best mechanical Terran player atm.

Generally speaking these last couple of ASLs have been the most wide-open from Ro4 onwards. That's been pretty cool. Fully agree with this. In addition responding to other posts: Mini is not a better pvzer than queen. He did extremely well with new builds he came up with in the last season. The timings and 2 gate switch caught zerg of guard. But those have been solved now. It would be very surprising if he came up with even newer ones I imagine Mini will have a lot of difficulty beating Hero. If it's Queen vs Hero in the finals which in my opinion is very probable i would still give both of them equal chances of winning. If it was up to my heart though I hope Rush crushes everyone We need a strong terran.
