When the Terran realizes the z has that expo at front, he has to mine it out or go around. But sunkens will stop the mining. So he has to go around, mining out 2 sets of mineral lines. By the time they get there, the zerg will have muta tech and harrass, forcing the mnm back. (and lurker tech in some variations of the build). So the terran now has to break the middle or go around again. Going around will again take too much time, and he needs to kill one of the gasses very fast. So he goes for the middle. He gets tanks to clear out sunkens and then mines it out. The zerg races to hive tech, (and continues to muta harrass during this time from 3 gas) buying time, and when the mineral line is finally through, guardians stop the marines going through that narrow path. The terran is desparate and needs to lure the guards out in open space or get air units. He usually has around 1 or 2 vessels which won't kill the guards fast enough, so he gets wraiths. But the zerg has now teched to hydras and enters with guard/hydra. Before you know it, your tanks are dead to guards, ur wraiths are dead to hydra, and ur mnm are dead to both. Even by some miracle u survive, the zerg will probably have gotten another gas with defiler tech, and you'd have quite a difficult situation on your hands. | ||
