Making a prediction either way feels ... awkward. If I do it backwards and try and predict who will lose, it sounds just as wrong. I hope whoever plays better today wins. I'm a new Soma fan and I want him to do well, but I don't have enough towels to dry my monitor from all the 'zvz finals' crying. Blind-rawR, you and your thread and timer saved me from missing the semi's. Thank you. Queen vs Flash(R) would be the best finals matchup I can envision. Followed by Larva vs Flash and then Soma v Queen. I do not want to see Soma vs Larva. According to a number of you, there is thought to be difficulty is gaining an advantage RvZ. I have always thought ZvRT and ZvRZ to be hard as hell and that is was very easy to end up in a worse spot. I am interested to see how that plays out. Especially, if I have literally been approaching the matchup assbackwards for the last 20 years lol. | ||

Flash can easily keep up with Soma early/mid game with P, late game he stand no chance ZvZ is big edge for Soma, however Flash with 6th sense can easily pull it off. TvZ is almost a flip, maybe small edge for Flash, but Soma is playing flawlessly recently and his zvt is top-notch Overall 4:2 for Soma imo. | ||

Thanks, yes, it's very interesting, I was leaning towards this as well, however, one can argue that if Flash rolls Z he is in disadvantage, if he rolls T he has an advantage so maybe the entire thing depends on how his PvZ is. So at the end, I have no idea who has the advantage or not. | ||

It was quite disappointing to see him lose a tvz he should win, and try to allin zvz twice. But on the other side you have to give Soma that he was quite lucky with his openings. 12h vs Flash T on Eclipse, vs exp 9pool speed vs P on that new map, vs 1 gate zealots 9pool no speed vs 3h before pool 1st scout against masslings - didnt really see that game fully, but I think it was like that. Arguably against random and what not could have came out of that random, those are 3 perfect blind build choices, so you can say quite lucky, or quite well played and mindgamed. Hype was bigger than the games, but still enjoyable - as per unpredictable what will happen. | ||

Even though we only have ZvZ left... You have to be happy for the guy, and realize how important this moment is for him. Anyway, with ZvZ the only way to go is up because most of us expect very little of it, that even one long match could be very exciting. Crossing my fingers that we'll get to see that rare mix of red tatoos, green goo and purple haze. | ||

great.. ZvZ is literally the worst match up (for me at least and for 99% of bw gamers I know) I couldnt have cared less who wins despite for the fact that with soma winning we have a certain ZvZ final bummer the PvZ on Ringingbloom definitely showed that flash PvZ is great btw.. he ALMOST made it kinda close despite LOSING his nexus.. GGs overall and better series than the ZvPs before.. I will.. probably not watch the final live.. and maybe not watch it at all... as ZvZ is super super boring overall (unless it is played on super crazy maps..and 1/500 zvzs is special on normal maps) | ||

I really enjoyed how much suspense there was at every game's start until everyone knew what race he rolled, and until Soma figured it out. That brought s.th. fresh to broadcasted top-lvl BW. I think we saw that Flash does relatively (RELATIVELY) poor in certain finicky-tricky situations that the different matchups provide, like that poor zealot handling on the ramp in the PvZ or his scourge-micro in game 1, his ling micro in the last game. Given those at this point unsurmountable disadvantages, due to a sheer lack of experience/familiarity, it's amazing what he does just with the knowledge he accquired in all matchups and with his tactical decision making. (edit: and his macro across all matchups... we almost take that as a given...) Obviously we would see some gambles or risky builds like in his 2nd and 3rd ZvZ to try and exploit the random-advantage. Me for my part, I was entertained throughout. | ||

Soma withstood great pressure. Losing 1:2 and playing against Flash Terran, ended winning that game. I lost my nerves after Flash dropped Soma's main. As someone mentioned, this could be better for Flash - not winning another title right away. It may motivate him to play more. Good luck to Soma in the finals. Queen already has a title, I wish Larva could do well, too. | ||

A lot of Flash's build is very calculated risk, and in this case, it just didn't work out especially for game 2 and game 6. I would say game 6 is really the only lucky bo win that soma had, the others he just won the mind game. Soma showed some really strong games. | ||

g1 - very funny to see flash's muta micro g2 - my brain not big enough to understand 3 hatch before pool in ZvZ g3 - this is the destruction i'm used to seeing g4 - a little sloppy w/ the scourge hits, but soma really penetrated flash's mineral line so effectively g5 - idk soma is just in insane form g6 - at least we got to see a headshake from soma, and also hands off keyboard at the end. | ||

Flash, on the other hand, had a handful of mistakes in that series. It look like his hands couldn’t do everything his brain wanted him to do. The missed nexus cancel in game 5 was probably the biggest noob mistake I’ve seen Flash Make since he returned to SC1. I hope next season he doesn’t have the same physical or mental issues that stalled him in this series. | ||

When he engaged Soma's lings, Flash had 13 drones, his pool was ~12 seconds from finishing, and he had 156 minerals in the bank. Why not just run around the base with the drones, and wait for 6 lings to hatch? That seems like definitely a better choice than to just fight straight up and suffer heavy losses. Maybe he overestimated the drones strenght, being a T player and being accustomed to the SCVs. | ||

The build was a huge risk for Soma in that he would most likely be behind had Flash gone for any other build. | ||
