Map veto system remains the same from Season 5. + Show Spoiler + As there are 7 maps in the map pool, 4 maps need to be eliminated for a BO3. All vetoes and map picks need to be made before the match(In main stage - we encourage you to choose maps as soon as your opponent will be announced). The player with the higher ladder stage ranking can decide if they want to veto first or second. The order for vetoes is ABAB(bans) ABC(picks) for BO3
Example of vetoes for the BO3 match:
player A vetoes a map player B vetoes a map player A vetoes a map player B vetoes a map player A picks the first map player B picks the second map the remaining map will be played in the decider match

I love Nation Wars! So great News!

Arew, it will depend on how many players neighbour countries will have on January 15th. As of today, I'd go with Northern Europe team: Finland + Norway + Latvia + Lithuania + Great Britain (no Sweden because they have a lot of players on their own) Players: Arcneon, Madinho, Jerry, Lure, CH0B0
Pretty strong team, even has chances to reach top4

do you imagine Germany will get an own team? Cryoc, Bakuryu, Favorit, Kuh +1 maybe?

I think from your list only Cryoc plays ladder at the moment. But I hope that Nation Wars project will boost ladder activity.

For nation war, could we combine USA and CAN?
|
Russian Federation249 Posts
10 minutes left. I'm sorry, but I will remove unknown players, because it is a BSL6 ladder tour and I need to know their BSL6-accounts
Zety, CivilZerg, Jonas, ThrashTilDeath, Foskenm FBH, Cuervin and zesagi are these players
|
will Canada be combined with USA for nation wars? I dont think we (canada) have enough otherwise. Also jaeBT (#1 USA atm) will 99% not be playing
edit: yeah same question as sugo

Nevermind, figured this out.

If you made the account within 24 hours it wont show up yet

Canada currently has exactly five players, so no need to combine. But beside that, we will put together teams that don't have five players. Closest country to Canada is Mexico in this case.

ohh, interesting...

Let's go USA! Looks like some teams need to merge...
Just a suggestion to Mr. Zzzero, but wouldn't it make more sense to have set Nations in place while still choosing the top MMR players from each region??
Something like.. North America + Canada, South America, Eastern Europe, Northern Europe. Also, two South America teams just makes no sense...

We already did Continents Battles where NA defeated both EU and SA. And you're suggesting the same idea.
But this tournament is about something different. It is about playing for your country under your country flag. Unfortunately, some countries just don't have enough players and we group them together to give them at least some chance to participate.
Of course, format may not be optimal, but it's just an experiment for now. Maybe we will make a bigger event in future.

Exactly I imagine that the future will include more countries

Nation Wars News!!! Only five days left until the deadline when we will select four best countries based on MMR. What is happening on ladder in the meantime?
Biggest news of the recent days is, of course, Team Peru claiming first spot with impressive 22 points lead over closest pursuer, Team Poland. South Americans ladder very hard, meanwhile Poland is losing Bonyth from their team due to MMR decay. Come on, Tomasz, your fellows need you!
Another big change happened with Team South Europe - all those countries combined don't have five players, so I decided to add them up to Team Western Europe. With this change every player in the ladder now is a part of some team, isn't this awesome? But the happiest thing about new formed Team South-Western Europe is that eOnzErG burst into the ladder and raised average MMR to the sky, allowing them to compete with Team Chile for the fourth spot in the rankings. With the distance between two teams as low as eight points, the battle should be very interesting.
Many teams are suffering significant losses from players deleting their accounts or MMR decay. Most notably Team United States is left without JaeBT and Ty2. Even rising rankings of G5 can't help them to get back on track. Team Canada lost castle, Team Northern Europe falling down due to Madinho's lowering MMR (but on a bright side CadenZie is now in the team!).
A couple more changes were made to the participating teams: Favorit is now counted as German and not Russian, which allows the former to improve their position a bit. We are also welcoming a lone Brazilian barcode player, he will join Mexicans and Bolivians to form a new team, the great BraBoMex!
But enough talking, let's see the rankings!
1. Team Peru (2261) [2402] => BSL6-Dandy [2302] => BSL6-AyaC)Conde [2267] => BSL6-TerrOru [2214] => BSL6-Gosudark [2120] => BSL6-Yugox 2. Team Russia (2228.6) [2327] => BSL6-Dewalt [2296] => BSL6-g0rynich [2210] => BSL6-TTF [2158] => BSL6-Bandy [2152] => BSL6-lanos 4. Team Northern Europe (2115.6) 7. Team United States (2076.8) 8. Team Eastern Europe + Qatar (2026.8) 9. Team Germany (1976.2) 10. Team Sweden (1897.6) 11. Team Canada (1891.6) 12. Team BraBoMex (1849.2)

During Ladder Tour # 1 and # 2 there was a small misunderstanding about the format in which the final was played. In the first tournament it did not matter, but in the second tournament it actually did.
In the rules I have expressed myself imprecisely, and Hatchet has been administering the tournament according to the format that I put in the news, so if you have a resentment to someone for that - it should be to me.
I should have expressed myself more precisely in the rules - but when I was preparing the news it was obvious to me that if the format of the tournament is WB and LB, the WB winner should start with an advantage in the grand final. I have a lesson for the future.
However, I added one more point to the format/rules of BSL6 Ladder Tour #3:
BSL LADDER TOUR #3 Tuesday, January 15th 2019 () Map pool: Block Chain REGISTER
FORMAT - Everyone from BSL6 ladder is allowed - 100$ Prize pool for each tournament ($45/$25/$15/$10 prize pool distribution + $5 lottery between players that don't give any walkovers) - Winner bracket bo1 until Ro8, bo3 afterwards - Loser bracket bo1 all the way + Finals bo5, WB winner with 1:0 lead.

In that case, how is the current case resolved? It seemed, Eon was quite annoyed, to put it mildly. And while I was excited to see T_T pulling out such a great performance, if we are to stick to the rules, there is still a final game left.
And as a main organizer, you are to make decision when asked. Good, bad, make one. I haven't seen it in chat after the game.
Note that Eon's decision to concede the game might be affected by his understanding of overall score.

The whole idea of these tournaments was mine. I suggested prize pool distribution and using only one map, I wrote the rules, and I was admining first two tours. ZZZero only revised my text and posted it, assuming that finals rules are "obvious".
So I must say that when the idea came to my mind, I wanted to reach two goals with Ladder Tours: 1. Allow players to practice on a new maps and possibly avoid the "what the hell is this map" situation in the main tour. 2. Make tournament not very long, because at least two of them were going to be played on weekdays.
What did I decide? Make double-elimination tournament format, so all players will have a chance to play at least two matches on the new maps. How to make it shorter? Make earlier rounds bo1 and remove annoying bo5 finals. Do you remember that previous season two finals of the ladder tours were postponed and one of them never finished?
But with bo3 finals it is ridiculous to give one map advantage for the WB winners - they will need to win only one map. In traditional sports this issue is usually solved by adding one more match to the finals in case if LB winner wins first. This is fair, because tournament is "double elimination" and you need to lose two series to be eliminated. But in this case finals may be sometimes shorter and sometimes even longer!
So I decided to not put WB advantage in the rules. "Stupid!" - you'll say. But look at The International/2018 - they use similar format without any advantage. Are they stupid too or are there something behind this decision? I must say that from my POV winner bracket advantage still exists - player from LB had to defeat more opponents with much more unforgiving bo1 format.
To sum this up: Was it a mistake to announce rules like that? - Probably. But probably not. Was it a mistake to not explain to players all the details before the match? - Definitely. Should players read the rules carefully before playing the tournament? - Definitely. Has the tournament been played according to the rules? - Yes. Should we change something in ladder tour #2? - No.
P.S. I must say that all this post is my personal point of view and is not an official position of BSL crew.

i literally invented my own rules about how a double elimination tournament should work to find out that hatchet has other opinion,im the only one to blame.
i was obviously dissapointed cuz i had other score in my mind and played with a mindset of bo5(1 game advantage) not bo3.

BSL NATION WARS First of all, honourable mention goes to Team Bolivia, which started the BSL6 Ladder Tournament as a part of Team Mexico-Bolivia and ended with impressive 13 players on their own. And although they didn't get high ranked place, I still want to say thanks for all that players who came to BSL to represent this South-American country.
Sometimes wonders doesn't happen. Although Team Germany showed really promising results yesterday, they still weren't able to advance any further. They finish ladder race at the sixth spot with 2125.2 average MMR. Still pretty good result considering that they jumped two ranks higher in just one day.
Team United States stopped in one step form qualifying to Nation Wars. And this is especially unfortunate, because I think they have a lot of players who could step up the ladder for US. I will just say that if final version of the team had nyoken and Ty2 in it, outcome of ladder stage could have been different. But for now, they are left with only 5th place.
And now, let's see the top four qualified nation teams, and the rest of the rankings of course.
1. Team Peru (2245.4) [2313] => BSL6-TerrOru [2308] => BSL6-Dandy [2236] => BSL6-Gosudark [2187] => BSL6-Broly[eF] [2183] => BSL6-GoKu 2. Team Russia (2237.8) [2341] => BSL6-g0rynich [2323] => BSL6-Dewalt [2317] => BSL6-spx [2111] => BSL6-Dreamer [2097] => BSL6-Bandy 3. Team Poland (2213.2) [2277] => BSL6-T_T [2232] => BSL6-Goten [2222] => BSL6-Ziggy [2220] => BSL6-rasowy [2115] => BSL6-Czitek 4. Team Chile (2158.2) [2267] => BSL6-CHILE [2201] => BSL6-Techito [2145] => BSL6-UltrA [2094] => BSL6-lvaNioX [2084] => BSL6-cRuZa[eF] 5. Team United States (2140.8) 6. Team Germany (2125.2) 7. Team South-Western Europe (2108.4) 8. Team Northern Europe (2078.8) 9. Team Bolivia (1990.6) 10. Team Great Britain (1963.2) 11. Team Bulgaria (1955) 12. Team Canada (1921.6) 13. Team Eastern Europe + Qatar (1883.2) 14. Team Sweden (1882.6) --. Team Mexico (1894) (4 players)
Nation Wars Format Matches format will be 3 x bo1 + 1 x 2v2 + ACE match if needed: 1. Block Chain 1.1 2. 2v2 Kiseyras 3. Benzene 4. Heartbeat 5. ACE Neo Sylphid 2.0
Before each match team captains submit to me privately their line-up. After receiving both line-ups I will announce matches. Each player from top 5 can play in only one 1v1 match + 2v2 match For ace match any player from top 5 are allowed, even if they already played earlier in the match. One player from lower than top 5 is allowed to play 2v2 matches for his team.

How about a rule which doesnt allow a player to have a stream turned on while playing his games? Or is just dandy over that?

Just because he's in the stream doesn't really mean or imply anything. He could've just been in there and watching the previous game while he was waiting, etc. You're just saying this after the fact of you losing. If you won, would you be saying the same? "Oh, I won, but man he was still in the twitch chat!!"
It's not that uncommon to leave a stream open, because you were in there earlier, and then go to your game. And also, unlikely he's sitting there listening to the Cast Audio in the background, because at such high level games, even that 10-15 second delay (before LMaster fixed it) is going to hurt you. At these high level games, you don't have some benefit trying to reactively play with even 10 second delay. Just think about it and stop accusing. Not to mention, if someone really wanted to "cheat," you think they wouldn't make a secondary Twitch account to do that?
As I recall it, you were ahead in the game and lost to some timing/macro attack in the end.
Plus, is Dandy's internet even good enough to watch and play lol (that peruvian internet isn't really the best to be doing these type of shady tactics)
You lost, get over it, and try to beat him next time.
|
You have really great point of view. Player A lost a game so he has no right to point someone is abusing the rules. Its only normal while player A win a game and cheat is obvious, right? I was there earlier because i can and i left before my game because i respect manners. You wrote a cool poem but it's 1 or 0. Its allowed or not.
|
5min stream delay, not hard.
|
Being in stream viewer list doesn't mean they were cheating, though. maybe you can suspect they were but the accusation is ridiculous. Also, yeah, a delay fixes this and we shouldn't have any more issues.
and here's a snippet of some polish poetry for all the fans of literature:
Liść pożółkły spada z drzewa chłodny wietrzyk wieje chór ptaszęcy już nie śpiewa ścichły lasy, knieje.

This definitely works, and is probably the way to go for important events.
However, it's not an ideal solution because it kills interaction with chat, which is especially impactful between games.

I recall Jaehoon stream cheating in spon games a couple of years ago with good success until he got caught, so your assessment is very wrong. How can someone even think that a 10s delayed stream is not a huge advantage strategy-wise is beyond me, basically a maphack for the poor, starting position, tech choices, hidden bases are all known. And people can have 2 monitors to see the stream on the side.
|
If anything, stream cheating is mostly beneficial during the first few minutes of the game. If the games are being casted live, there should be a delay in place. Knowing player position and opening builds is a big deal. Sugo's quick defense makes sense though, as he's a regular when it comes to being in stream while playing vs a streamer. i.e Sugo vs Bonyth in the past and Sugo vs Jaeyun in the past.

Actually ZZZero used to set a delay on his streams, but after casting so many games from replays, we kinda forgot about this.
So yes, in future we will pay more attention to this aspect. But I don't think we will revise Ladder Tour #3 results.

But that's my point, I'm good friends with Bonyth. I'm always on his stream and many others and usually chatting with them. And then just moves into "hey, let's play" and I just never close their stream. It's not intentional, but it's typically because when watching streams, you have tons of other browsers open, checking email, other forums, etc. It has nothing to do with cheating at all, it's just something you don't think about or consider because you were using the Internet for a lot of other reasons simultaneously. Which is my point, Dandy was probably there actually watching then he got summoned to the game and just went with it. He may not even have been watching and just had the tab open for Twitch and forgot. Bottom line - we don't know. It's not really that unnatural lol. All I need to say is, if someone wants to cheat, you think they wouldn't make a second ID? It's common sense. Stream delay is the only solution, not allowing the person to be in the chat is irrelevant...
And my "quick defense" is because Dandy's also a friend, so yes, I would defend him. Unlike EL who has no friends in the scene. People really questioning a guy like Dandy who wins multiple tours and known to be one of the top in the scene? You're acting like he wasn't capable to win or something lol.
At any rate, all of this is just speculation and accusation. There is no proof. The only thing we know is TT was well ahead that game and still lost - so yes, the "Stream cheating" made him lose a big lead? Come on now, guys.
People already said they'll put a stream delay on. That's the end of it. Anything else about accusations is just that - it's an accusation. No need to argue on this topic anymore.

Streams should be always casted from replays, regardless of the event. Streaming match live for so called hype is ridiculous for me, since there is no real difference for viewer, whether he sees it live or after 30 minutes from replay, apart from his/her own imagination. Now I have consideration in that it mostly comes from troublesome management of tournaments - like none tournament organiser so far could handle in proper way providing replays for casters / hiding scores for viewers before casting with given public tournament sites. This hurts my eyes and disputes such the one in this thread make me awkwardly scratching my head.
Thus, I'm reconsidering starting official opensource project as project lead or scrum product owner to solve this issue, provided I'm gonna find devs willing to help and agreed on common technology stack, plus most of future SCR tournaments, like BSL / STPL / weekly or bi-weekly tournaments are willing to use it, when its ready with required functionality. That is website specifically written for SCR single/team tournaments, user accounts using battlenet authentication, player and teams database, ELO rankings, betting system similar to gosugamers one and place from which user can easily find every past vod from each tournament. Plus any other functionality demanded by starcraft users, since every functions / GUI aspect should be under general public discussion.

best possible team for Chile, that's nice.

Exactly as mr Hatchet said - we will remember about asking casters to set up delay for future.

UltrA isn't able to attend so Ivaniox will play instead

Wow not to get too excited but this nation wars has a chance to epic especially the RU vs PL card. Some of the best foreigners alive on those teams. I quit bsl due to not even being high enough for chobo league but I wish all a good experience in BSL6.
|
whats the score ? does anybody know ?
|
Hm.. i dont understand the player picks for each nation. Isnt it the top players in the ladder that are picked for the nationwar?
That's why i asked for Rasowy, he's been #4 in POL for 2 weeks shouldnt he be in lineup then? And Czitek? Just wondering who picks t he nation lineups, if it's there is a nation captain or if it's picked in order of BSL rankings.
|

Rasowy, stream will be today, so please don't reveal the scores
AGge, team roster is top5 from ladder, but players for each match are picked be team captain. Team captain is a player with highest MMR.

They most likely wanted bonyth to play even when there were more active players laddering so it didn´t matter how much time other players invested in this. Good to know though I wont be laddering much for next nation wars and I will just bully whoever qualifies to let me play.

Hi TerrOr! It's very easy to see administration mistakes after games were played. Much harder to prevent them
Of course we are also able to see some flaws in current format. And that's why we decided to make small 4-team tournament first. We wanted to test the format and see how many teams we can get during ladder stage.
I think that tour is fulfilling it's purpose for now. And we will try to make next one better (if there will be one, of course)

as far as i know, Bonyth was advanced to BSL6 already. So it is ok to participate in nation wars by default

it ain't sugo. we are suspecting that it may be reaper[pain] or someone unknown who trained for years for this spotlight. sugo said he has to take a break from bw because of his corporate work.

cmon man. You can't hack in remastered and there is also an insane stream delay that it doesn't even matter at that point. You lost fair and square to much superior player. Of course he will think you were gonna harrass when he contained you. That person might've had better game sense fair and square.

Did you watch it or just go ahead and decide that G5 is a moron? Stream delay isn't "insane," it's like 5 seconds.
I agree with G5 that it's extremely suspicious, and calling the guy a "much superior player" is a joke. He makes impossible scouts and blind reads at perfect times for no logical reason, but at the same time he can't do basic things like walk down a ramp while attacking or use F-keys to transfer probes away from a reaver drop that he knew was coming far in advance. 2319 MMR players do not play this poorly and just luck into an 80% winrate at 61-15. The direct shuttle rally and army movement to meet it above G5's base might be legit, but everything else is pretty hard to believe. The inconsistencies from the way he played the previous game (it was a re on the same map) are also significant, like the way he carelessly walks up the high ground when last game he was careful to position his units beforehand. There's plenty of other magical unit movements, but the top right probe scout is hilarious.

Yeah, he defends that a bit. A few other things I've noticed:
1. Msitua is autism backwards. Sugo is in clan "No Autism Squad," and according to team leader Dragon, "the no autism thing is an in joke because SuGo[NaS] would always call ppl autistic if they played badly, or for any reason really." https://www.teamliquid.net/forum/bw-tournaments/531961-stpl-18-19-season-round-1#7
2. There are only a handful of American (or North American) S rank protoss players. Msitua's account is from the US with TR24 vs G5 and he speaks English.
3. Sugo is well known for his BM (though he denies that). Msitua bms G5 at the end of the game.
4. Sugo is often found in the viewer lists of streamers he's playing against mid-game. He has literally played someone while in their stream the entire time, then immediately posted in chat after winning to say "Oh, that was you? I had no idea we just played!" I can find the streamer and other viewers to confirm this if necessary.
His explanation that, "I'm always on [Bonyth's] stream and many others and usually chatting with them. And then just moves into 'hey, let's play' and I just never close their stream" doesn't add up when he's pretending to not even know they were playing. https://www.teamliquid.net/forum/bw-tournaments/540390-bsl6-ladder-tours-nation-wars-and-map-pool?page=3#55
Personally, I have very little doubt that he is a stream cheater, although it's a difficult thing to "prove."

You are right, people should make sure to log out from their account before stream cheating, LOL. Honestly this is something everyone has to accept, you open a stream, you stop the stream, you stay on chat. Period. There is nothing you can do about it if you are a streamer and you shouldn't accuse people of cheating unless very deeply analyzed and proven.

On January 23 2019 13:38 G5 wrote: Who is BSL6-Msitua? Reason I ask is he plays like a hacker / stream cheater.
I wouldn't put it past SuGo (assuming he's BSL6-Msitua) to stream snipe and stream cheat to boost his BSL6 acc. I myself don't have any concrete evidence of this (screenshot/twitch vid) but i've seen him play vs streamers plenty of times in the past while being on their twitch chat. It's happened so many times that it's pretty much a common joke we make about him now. That's where the SuGo "did we just play" meme comes from. Again, all this is assuming BSL6-Msitua is SuGo and people have concrete evidence of him cheating (which i guess pretty much requires a confession, if the evidence is gameplay related w/e he does has to be super blatant).
That said, even tho it's a pretty dickish thing to do he's basically just MMR boosting. I dunno if that's something BSL/ZZZero wanna ban a player over (assuming you find concrete evidence of him doing this) but i leave that decision to them.
He's pretty much just the type of guy you can't be streaming live against if you're playing him in a showmatch/tourney (i wouldn't do this vs anyone tbh, that's a personal choice tho). And to be fair, as much as it sucks, you do leave yourself open to that sort of behavior by streaming BSL ladder games (or any type of live event/match).
If it's something you actually care about then you need to always play with a delay on, if not then you pretty much just have to accept that a lot of random people are gonna be stream cheating against you. It comes with the territory, sadly there's not much you can do about it. When I'm laddering I personally don't mind playing vs snipers, i get quicker Q times but you obviously don't wanna be playing vs stream cheaters. No chance i'd stream a tourney or showmatch live tho.

The whole discussion if msitua is Sugo is pretty much unneeded. Compare hotkey layout etc of Sugo w. Him and you will know.
Thats not a new technique even, folks should know about it.
Dunno who said above that you can not hack in sc:r, but thats totally untrue afaik!!
Does sc:r have a funtioning Ah, did blizzard ever mention that? How does it work? How often is it updated? As far as i know, there is no AH in place?

I just watched the vod, i think the goon that was walking close to G5's 3rd saw the 2nd probe (the 1 heading to top right) because it instantly moved back.. as if it saw something. G5 then got his nat pylon blocked by another probe but that 1 was too far out relative to where he saw the 2nd probe (the 1 heading to top right) with his goon. If the goon did see the 2nd probe he can safely deduce that there's a 2nd probe out on the map and that there's a possibility G5 could be taking a hidden exp. Would need to see the rep to confirm this tho.
But yea there's a lot of other weird coincidences during the game. For example when you don't probe scout at a high lvl you either wanna go into a 1g robo, fastest dt or just try to mindgame allin by going 3 gate goon (because at a high lvl your oppo will probably assume that you're going 1g robo, so they might not DT).
Doing a middle of the road 2 gate goon pressure into robo isn't a very logical build to do when you don't have any scouting info tho.. and usually when you do this build you have to get your robo after your 3rd and 4th goon or you just die to dts. You can only safely build your 5th or 6th goon before a robo if you can confirm your oppo's goon count (which he didn't do), aka if you can safely confirm that there's no DT.
|
Well I'm too lazy to watch the vod to confirm or deny cheating of any sort, but I can tell you that Sugo LOVES the 4goon + 1zlot timing :D
|
I was watching jiras stream and this player also forward 1gated countering his build in game 1 so jira went 5 pool next game and he went 2gates in his main... and I’m not going to point fingers but this person has similar apm to Sugo and for shin to say, “Sugos not playing sc right now due to corporate work” Sugo is the same guy to work “100 hour weeks” yet still log 150+ games on his bsl5 ladder account in less than 2 weeks so that shows you the lack of credibility to his words

Nooooooooo.. Not Sugo, the only hope for USA Protoss
|
Hey guys. This was brought to my attention. Really appreciate this level of communication/transparency in our very tight world of BW users.
My $1.50:
I like Sugo. I really do. He lives near my college which is close to me. We'll probably meet up in real life down the road.
I'm relatively new to the 1v1 scene. Streaming/1v1ing regularly for over a year now and played 3 games with the user in question. But many games (maybe 10) with sugo independent.
Sugo is likely BSL6-Mitsua, which is fine. But he likely stream cheats which isn't fine. I have my fair share of enemies/haters that come by the stream. Which I appreciate. I think quarrels/light banter/swinging egos makes things interesting and fun. I'm all for it. One thing I can't condone is jeopardizing the integrity of this game. It shouldn't happen and we need to make players accountable for their suspicious behavior.
IE Castle's note which is correct. In all of our previous ZVP match ups, this user did forward gate open (just like sugo). He even conveniently does the mid-way ovie scout on maps like FS/CB. In our 3rd match on FS, I spawned at 7 and he spawned north of me at the 11 o clock position. I decided to 5pool and lo' and behold, for the first time I've ever seen, Sugo decides to in-base 2 gate and scout directly to my 6 lings heading his direction. (to add,he scouted after his 2nd gateway warp which is much later than usual for him... or every protoss in this match up)
Even after all that to me, this was not 100% proof that he stream cheats. There is always room for coincidence/luck/variance whatever you want to call it. But when other users like G5, etc share the same sentiment it becomes a resounding truth.
I'm not here to put sugo on blast. I think players can change if held accountable. The flip side is: Jaeyun yesterday accused yajmahal as a stream cheater which I don't agree with. (mind you he had 100 viewers) I've played many matches with yaj, and do not share the same opinion. So in this case I think we need to be cautious with how in which we put out these accusations.
These forums could be a way to "highlight" suspicious behavior and allow for the users to plead their case and make amends. It is also a bad look for NA players as I hold my European friends to a higher standard/esteem.
Message to defenders: be embarrassed. you can have your blind loyalties but one common factor that we all have is love for this game, and the love of streamers to share their interaction via POV. I personally find it hard to accept a world where I should have to put a delay on my stream. I understand it's the risk I take which is fine, but as a community we should condone integrity and shun actions like this from taking place.

I will post here once because I think there needs to be some clarity, but I'm not going to argue, folks can believe as they want.
1. I am BSL6-Msitua
2. In G5's game, I sent a probe to the base for a ninja exp, it's something I commonly do. Next, I did see a scouting probe on the map, my goon passed it at one point. To TT1's point, yes robo after 4 goons is normal, agreed, but I've played G5 several times and I don't think he's ever DT'd me; so that's just some level of calculated risk I took. Sometimes it's not about the 'logical' build but "playing the player." Lastly, if a P is contained on Edy, there's only few options to break - reaver up ramp, harass, or unload on the side and flank ... I didn't feel any type of break from the ramp so I figured the timing for a shuttle is coming. Coincidence? Probably. As for the bit about "attacking with the units" in the start, that was not intentional. That was simply sloppy in my part; I think there's a lot of overthought there. Sloppy is sloppy and should G5 have been out there, I probably would've lost that battle...
3. For Jiraiya's case. One, Castle says "countered with 1g" ... no, that's wrong. If I recall the game, jiraiya went 12h. 1g isn't a counter to 12h... actually 12h > 1g (plus, I 1g often anyways). And lastly, this game about the "5pool vs 2g" ... Jiraiya said he's never seen me 2gate. However, in fact, I did 2gate against him in the NA BATTLE match in game 3. So no, I don't always and only 1g, it's very common, sure, but not always. That's just poor luck he went 5p that game; and I recall it worked well in the NA BATTLE so I figured I will try it again, nothing more, nothing less (for the record, I do 2g in pvz ladder quite a bit because you can get fast wins vs greedy players). As jiraiya said, we've played 10+ times, and now this is some big question? Come on now. And not to put Jiraiya on blast, but how many has he won against me, probably 2 or 3? Now when I win a 5p vs 2g game, there's some big question? For the record, as jiraiya said about me, i do like him too and consider him a friend.
Anyhow, feel free to keep speculating. I didn't "cheat" or whatever folks think here. But I won't respond to argue here because it's not a place I care to debate. I thought I made a good ladder run (with my fair share of luck, which we all have) and I will participate in the ro24, that's all.
And lastly, if you're paranoid about this, the grim reality is, don't stream or simply put a delay. It's not ideal, but from my perspective it seems like paranoia. I'm simply stating that once you lose a game and you go to analyze it, you're going to see what you want to see (Jiraiya's example about Jaeyun accusing Yaj -- we all have our beef with him, but I would never say he's cheating, especially with 100 viewers watching who will immediately agree with the host). Lots of things can look suspicious if you made up your mind beforehand.

This is exactly what I said on discord. You can find many suspicious acts if you already assume the opponent is cheating. And after watching the VOD since a little birdie told me JY was calling me out, it was apparent from the very beginning of the game that he expected I was sniping him. He even said on stream "I am going to 9 pool" as to throw me off I guess? But I 12 hatched anyway. Simply put, Jaeyun got outplayed the last two matches on stream and he has to justify me bending him over somehow. But a higher standard should be expected from someone of his stature in the community. Especially when he is the ONLY one to say them. Shame on you JY.
Also, show match. Don't dodge.

@sugo. Listen, I don't know your history nor DID I have a biased feel that you (on the ID: Sugo) are a stream cheater. To me, everyone is clean until proven guilty.
To be even more clear. My sentiment was expressed solely on the 3 games I played with you on the BSL6-Mitsua ID. In a vacuum, my instincts told me something was off about the games we played. It was until after the games I learned it was you so this predisposed thought -- or assumption/paranoia in the case with me, is incorrect. I based my judgement on solely the games vs that ID.
That said, your response is fair and really what I was looking for. To own it was you, and to provide your perspective. I think with less "noise" from players like G5, myself, whomever. Will help paint you (& your smurf IDS) in a different light.
I've played only 3 games off-stream vs you for the Nation wars in which I went 1-2. I don't own any smurfs and I stream 99% of the games I play in totality. Happy to run it back.
Please...

Thx Jiraiya. Also, one of the 3 games vs my Mitsua ID you did 5p and I recall you won that one ... so clearly not impervious to it

Lots of things can look suspicious if you made up your mind beforehand.
I want to be as fair as possible here as I know most people take their credibility very seriously. Before I posted this, I sat down and watched the replay in real time / slow mo from your perspective. I carefully watched your reactions, the way you moved your units, and diagnosed your play; rewinding and replaying critical moments. I not only watched the game in question but our previous game as well.
With that said, I don't believe you. In my opinion, you were cheating.
The way you played (strategy, timing, reactions, army movement, etc.) doesn't make sense and your explanation doesn't make sense. The only way this makes sense to me is through the lens of you cheating. In a sport where there isn't blood tests or cameras directly on players and certainty isn't 100%, it's as clear as it possibly can be to me that you were cheating.
You're definitely a good enough player to beat me and many top foreigners and pros without cheating. You would not be the first and won't be the last that still takes the easier road even when they don't have to. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. There's always that chance. However, after watching those replays, reading your explanation, and knowing this game the way I do, I can confidently say I'm not wrong though.
Personally, I have no hard feelings, none at all. I understand why you did it and it was wrong. We can all agree that it's a shitty thing to do. People make mistakes and hopefully they build character from there and end up a better person. I don't care too much if you or someone else cheats vs me. Not the first time someone cheated in one way or another against me and won't be the last. Life moves on. It's unfair and annoying but my anger will subside relatively quickly. I remember though what it's like to deeply care for this game and my results. Back in the day I would have been FAR more furious then I was here and I honestly believe that there are players in this tournament that work as hard or harder than I did back in my hay day and care deeply for the chances they get in these tournaments. All i know is that sugo never cheats. He has so much pride for his skills that there is no point in cheating for him. Do you think cheating would make him feel good about his skills? I play sugo all the time. He does wild stuff and just blind build orders sometimes. He also makes ninja expo aka "sugo expo" that we make fun of. I guess I understand why some feel like he cheated. He's just that type of player.

Why else would I make that claim? I was streaming at the time, watched the rep on stream, and no one in the chat / stream disagreed. Looks like he is a cheater. cmon man. You can't hack in remastered and there is also an insane stream delay that it doesn't even matter at that point. You lost fair and square to much superior player. Of course he will think you were gonna harrass when he contained you. That person might've had better game sense fair and square. Then, because there's insane stream delay of several seconds, stream cheating doesn't even matter. It's not possible, and G5 just lost to a much superior player fair and square, whoever that may be. Probably some unknown gosu who's been training in secret for years.

So you play him all the time even though he's been working 100 hours a week since the beginning of last year (and did I mention he's busy on weekends too?), but this supposed break from BW due to excessive corporate work is a recent thing, right? Weird, what happened? Did he start working 200 hours a week?
It's also interesting how you deny it's Sugo completely, but go on to defend and praise this random unknown whom you have no association with or reason to support without even watching the game.
And here's that "we" again. We make fun of his "sugo expos," and he also happens to do random shit all the time, so any unusual plays should be immediately dismissed. Let's also just ignore the evidence from the game that can't be explained away by a preference for odd builds or ninja expos, like his divinely inspired unit movements and obviously feigned scouting.
The "we" in your first post and the "we" in your last post imply you're speaking about the same group of people - your group of friends which includes Sugo who play together regularly. Are you sure you didn't know he was Msitua from the start? Really? Because it wasn't that hard for me to figure out, and you're friends with him and play together all the time.
Amazing how he was able to fool your entire group into thinking he quit right when he got a new smurf account for BSL. I'm sure you really thought he had stopped playing. Either you're the most gullible person in the world, or your attempt to defend him by lying from the start is pathetically transparent.

Sero, clearly I’ve made civil (or somewhat civil) endings with myself and both other parties involved here. There’s really no need to write 10 paragraph long posts. You seem to care more than the “impacted parties.” I guess if you and the rest of the notorious FBW squad care that much, then keep on going. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure this just a moot point now.

Did you forget about his post right before that where he said it's as close to conclusive as can be and a shitty thing to do?

"Fair enough" means he doesn't want to waste his time arguing with you. He's already convinced. Well, I've got some time. Either you're delusional and think he's actually okay with it, or you're just blatantly trying to brush this off and hope it goes by unnoticed. Even if he were your best bud now and decided to completely forgive you, that shouldn't mean a thing.
You cheated to qualify for the largest foreign tournament, which is run on TeamLiquid and sponsored by Blizzard with a $1,000 prize pool. Only the top 20 foreigners on ladder get to qualify for this. BSL may not be organized by TL, but this was the decision made regarding cheaters during similar tournament qualifiers in the past, which I believe should still be upheld: https://www.teamliquid.net/forum/news-archive/108352-tsl-tl-punishes-cheaters
On December 22 2009 00:27 TL.net Bot wrote: Ladder abuse is just as criminal as hacking. The end result is no different. An abuser is essentially stealing prize money from honest players and robbing the community of a worthwhile competition. TeamLiquid strongly values honest competition and fair play, and we have decided to use our TSL to send a message to the community that these sorts of actions are no longer acceptable.
We urge other web sites, teams, clans, and tournaments to take similar action. The only way this widespread problem can be solved is if we all work together. We applaud GosuGamers for banning all TSL abusers from their events for six months. But it is not enough for just two sites to take a stand against cheating. There should be zero tolerance for cheating from anyone in our community.
A tournament organizer or site administrator who does not take similar action against these players is supporting cheating in their tournament. A clan or national team that does not remove these players from their lineup is sending a message that their clan or country finds it acceptable to have cheaters on their team. This passive tolerance of cheating is not acceptable, and TeamLiquid will not advertise clans, teams, or events that continue to disrespect this game.
Future Penalty Rules
These rules will come into effect after the PokerStrategy.com TSL is over. Our future penalties rules will be stricter, because players now have notice about them. First time offenders without personal gain will be banned for a minimum of 12 months and the next two TSLs.

Before you go ahead and claim that this is an FBW witch hunt, know that I'm posting this on my own, and I don't go around calling people stream cheaters often. There's only one other person I've suspected in the past 7 years that I've been playing this game, and he's never gotten a formal call out like this due to lack of evidence, which isn't the case here.
While I watched the game with a critical eye, I wasn't expecting to find any substance to G5's original one-liner comment. I rolled my eyes a bit when I read "he plays like a hacker / stream cheater" since I don't believe that hacks are even in the game since Remastered's release. I also didn't know that you were the one playing until I realized it was you about an hour after my first post where I agreed that it was extremely suspicious. We may not be pals, but that's not causing me to be biased here.

The games alone should be enough, but the fact that you bought a new account to try to hide that it was you and then told your friend to lie for you on here is shameless. Yes, you can dispute that too, but the account can be proven, and your good friend Shinokuki isn't exactly convincing. All that along with your history of frequently being spotted in the viewer lists of streamers who you're actively in game against (by your own words and others) is what I consider damning evidence.
I hope the BSL organizers will seriously investigate, because I think it's as blatant as it can get. While there's no 100% verifiable method to prove that you did cheat, a reasonable person doesn't need irrefutable proof to see that you did.

@TrueIrish. Naturally, if more people like you defend suspicious behavior, more and more streamers will add a delay. That's obvious. But it doesn't solve shit. The problem isn't streaming without a delay. It's condoning/defending people like him.
Let the chips fall as they may. This is how I see it.
- For someone to purchase a 2nd ID to smurf entails two things: 1.) that individual is insecure 2.) that individual is intending to cheat. I learned this yesterday. - No one can prove 100% that Sugo cheated, and no one can ban him from playing BW. Free sugo? He literally can do whatever he wants. That hasn't changed. - If we no longer see suspicious stuff from Sugo going forward. It's a win-win. And don't make me point out the obvious.
Looked back. He sent his probe after warping 2nd gateway straight to my 5pool lings.
Just another lucky move. If this persists, he will continue to have a bad name and might as well play the lottery for being the luckiest user alive. At some point his luck SHOULD run out.

@eon. I can't speak on Dewalt but I would lay $$ that Kenzy has never stream cheated. So similar to my feeling on Yaj from Jaeyun. I'd refrain from making accusations without any proof. Especially for someone like you who has a large viewer base.

but i dont believe they are stream cheating.taking in consideration that stream has natural delay i dont even think it will matter .but well thats other argument.

Jiraiya, large viewerbase does not deter online personalities from making bold and shameless claims in my experience.

@eon -- how long do you put on delay? It's sad it even needs to happen but I get it.
I just want this to be a mechanism to keep players in check.
|
lul, if someone asked me for vision, i'd happily give it to him in a normal game :D Too bad it's not possible on ladder.
As for the whole staying on the chat thing, it wouldn't be surprising for a player (dandy) to want to see opponent's chat reaction from his game against the streamer AFTER the game finished.

This whole Thread is full of unnessary gossip, accusations and personal drama.
Clearly, BSL Admins will investigate any incident that is suspicious of cheating and will punish cheating. Open speculation about certain replays, personal bias and foremost fbw vs nas discord drama bs do not contribute to that.
You just litter this thread with you personal biases, in defensive speeches for your clans, friends or whatever attachment it is. I strongly suggest to take that back to discord. This thread is about bsl-6, not your drama.
Whoever feels insecure about stream cheating should use a stream delay instead of acting entitled. If you're to lazy for a stream delay, it's nobody's fault but yours.

@Cele. I agree with the whole discord drama. This is really between the user in question, and the people who have suspicion and direct involvement. BSL6 admins do not need to investigate anything unless it continues happening.
In other words, it excludes you.
I just want it to be heard by the user, felt by the user, and give the user a chance to make amends.
Appreciate your 2 cents though.
|
@Bonny -- I agree majority of players idoling in stream chat is to read the comments AFTER the game.

Wrong. If there would be a strong incentive to look into it, it would be done behind the curtains. And that excludes you and me. This here? Just drama in public.
If people suspect anything, they should feel free to report that to their trusty admins in order to clear it up. Exposing it on tl serves many things to certain users, it doesn't serve finding cheaters.
If a player has a strong suspicion and his premiere interest is investigation: you contact han, hatchet or whoever is in charge instead of blowing up this balloon.

So SuGo is simultaneously sneaky, dedicated, and smart enough to buy a second RM account to smurf and ladder on, but also dumb and myopic enough to not log off of his Twitch account while sitting in the chat of the person he is playing against. He is also dumb enough to tell multiple people his smurf name before this drama even started so that people can instantly know that it is still him playing and in those stream chats.
Then, he is also good enough at the game that he can take legit games off of some of the higher level foreigners without cheating, but bad enough that he needs to stream cheat with a delay to deduce that a player who is reverse ramp contained in PvP will need to use a shuttle to harass or ferry units. He is also ethically questionable enough to risk his rep as a strong player and position in one of the biggest foreign tournaments in recent memory to get 20 points, but also community-conscious enough to spend hours training newbies in CPL, joining multiple hour length casts where he shares and analyzes his reps and also gives feedback on low level play.
I think we should start a GoFundMe for him to see a shrink, I think this kind of inconsistency of character is indicative of schizoid personality disorder.
In all seriousness, Sugo is no saint. He has BM'd, surfed, etc. However I would say that it is fallacious to conflate BM with bad competitive ethics, or the common practice of being in a person's chat openly in order to hear the reactions post-game and being a sneaky stream cheater.
We will probably never know the truth because it is impossible to verify. Jiraya mentioned this but let's be completely honest - in your long and storied BW careers, have you never blind countered someone's early pool or scouted a proxy immediately, or had your army in a lucky position to snipe a dropship? If so I hope you have more luck in other endeavors in your life because those things happen to me quite frequently.
|
@Cele. The response I want is for less people to stream cheat and for the community to support that. That's it.
Filter out the drama and extra background noise. The bottom line is, anyone can do whatever they want and G5/myself made some observations about a particular player. Now that player is on the spot which is enough, and it ends there.
I wouldn't dilute this whole thread even more with your opinions.
|
@Jealous. Listen, both G5 and myself came at it from the perspective of.
"whos BSL6-Mitsua". It was after the fact we learned who it was. To mention BM, or pre-thoughts/opinions about Sugo is independent of the initial thing that raised suspicion.
In a vacuum, the play from this ID is/was questionable.
|
my theory:
sugo purchased that account and smurfed as hard and he could and stream sniped G5 and jira in order to get a high enough mmr to get into bsl and if anyone raised suspicion that it was a stream sniper he would of abandoned that account but if no1 said anything and just asked who it was he would of stayed quite until the ladder was over or until he had a comfortable spot and then relieved it was him. the only reason why he revealed it was him was because like 5+ ppl on TL said they think its him, he wasnt even telling his friends like shin that it was him (hmm?) i do think theres a high chance that he would do this to G5 and jira because they are at 2100~ mmr and streaming and more importantly sugo knows/thinks he is a stronger player *most of the time* but not everytime but he couldn't resist a for sure spot in the ro24 with such juicy mmr prey on the ladder, ive watched the games and i think its pretty suspicious that the last games before sugo got enough points to qualify in a comfortable spot were vs G5 and jira both in a series and both right after 1 an other (hmm?). not to mention seriously questionable games, evidence in the G5 and jira restreams

Does sugo stream cheat? I dunno maby.... SHOULD YOU NOT STREAM IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT BEING STREAM CHEATED? FUCK YES. Should you put on a delay... YES........ I stream now and then and people probably stream cheat but i don't care cause they are only hurting themselves as a player.... Oh no i lost a ladder game cause someone cheated?!??! who cares.. use ladder as a tool to get better. IT MEANS NOTHING.
|
Sorry also we used to hold this shit to a much higher standard. TL would ban people for making unproven claims. You needed like replay proof with a enemy clicking on something he could not see. No matter how much you THINK someone might be cheating if u have no proof its doesn't matter, we cant ruin the community with everyone calling everyone else a stream cheater or a hacker. I know sugo, hes a good guy, and a good player. Does that mean think there no way he stream cheated ? no of course not, hes a evil man maby he did, but i also have seen pride in him, and honor, and iv seen him stand up for a someone being shit on. Without proof there is nothing.
|
Granted some of the moves look suspicious. But I must say I have played with SuGo from time to time and the guy really does weird shit all the time :D
I'm not here to say he did it or didn't do it, don't really care either way. But as a long time streamer myself I would just advice to you streamers to use a delay if you worry about these things. I've personally been stream cheated multiple times and not a single time has there been any actions from any parties after(even when its 100% obvious). In my honest opinion, stream cheating could even be allowed everywhere, and just use delay in tournaments etc, personal stream you can decide yourself.
So, if you want to make sure you don't get cheated, just put a delay, even 1 minute delay is enough to make it really hard to cheat and wont mess up your chat too much, even if you'd interact with chat very actively. When you're playing a tournament, you can surely demand for a delay on stream if they aren't using it already.
Awesome drama nevertheless, takes me back over a decade, really fun to read! :D

Let's be real guys, y'all are happy that Sugo made proleague. Now everyone gets to root against him in the tournament. It's good for business.

Make your own judgments. I have made mine very clear. I don't expect him to get banned from the tournament. This has rarely ever been the case from tournament organizers in the past and don't expect anything different 10+ years later. All I hope for is he stops.

He should be able to get 2300 MMR especially on non vpn. I don't get why people are surprised by his mmr tbh. Aside from that, it seems like issue is cleared. Hope there is no further issue.
Whoooa D rank on "old" Fish, so gosu! :D
So just to get this straight, SuGo's skill lvl back on old Fish, relative to today's MMR would be around 2300 KR MMR, according to you.. right? Well if that's the case then yes he should definitely be able to get 2300 MMR non VPN. Would be fun to see him stream on Korean VPN sometimes, just to see how gosu the Koreans are up there at 2300 MMR.
So he was also an extremely high ranked player on Fish, i didn't know that about him o,.o. That's cool info! But if he was that good back then, relative to the other foreigners (only 3-4 players were ahead of him on Fish), why is he not that highly ranked anymore o.O (in terms of foreign player rankings, seriOsity's tier list has him in tier 5 or 6 ^^)? Is it just that he's not practicing enough (lack of time maybe?) or has the competition gotten fiercer?
Btw i didn't read the other posts but i'd be surprised if anyone said 2300 is high MMR on non vpn right now.. there's always a lot of inflation during BSL : ].

I don't really understand why there is such a fuss. When it comes to streaming and stream cheating I can point out a few things: a) It is up to a streamer to put a delay, if you don't have it - you can expect other people to stream cheat you, just blame yourself if you face such player or don't care about it at all. Personally, during the ladder game I'd find it even more challenging and fun. a.1) During the tournament games, official streamer should ALWAYS have at least 3 minutes delay or stream replays, otherwise it is not fair from players point of view and personally I wouldn't agree to get my games streamed since I'm too paranoid. b) For the player who is viewing a stream during the game, the only positive thing u get from doing so are the points by winning a game, you get nothing from it practice wise. b.1) When it comes to BSL qualification, points really matter to qualify, I don't see anything wrong when player X stream cheats and uses another player's stream to get an advantage. (coming back to the point a) Unless official tournament rules say otherwise but even then it is REALLY hard to prove so.
Of course, when it comes to practice, all you want is how to get better, not to reach I.E. 2.3k MMR no matter what, so that's another story. Personally, as long as this stream cheating thing doesn't come to the official/tournament games, I can't care less about it. So no matter what SuGo did during the ladder phase - #freesugo

Hello everyone. I decided to make an account and try to qualify for this BSL for fun as I usually do. For the record I'm still in the danger zone and might not even get in if I don't grind hard. My experience with the games I have played is abit suspect. I have to point out that I have streamed a big majority of my games with 0 delay and if somebody took advantage of that its my problem(applies to all streamers!) but since I stopped my winrate suddenly became better and I won more often. My skill is relatively the same and has always been for many many years and I'm fortunate to be able to get in decent shape with little play time. The difference was big when stream was off in my personal opinion. And no I didin't play more and suddenly get better because I spend most of my time playing another game I want to become great at. My observation is that people have become much more disrespectful and 90% of them don't even type gg after games, literally 90%! That might not be here or there but what I'm trying to say is my spider senses are tingling that people are not playing fair. I also thought of a logical simple way people might be manipulating the ranking system. I would say its more than easy for alot of players to make multiple accounts around 2000-2100 with zero to no sweat. Considering the fact you have to wait 500+ seconds and even more in dead hours how hard would it be to play vs your own accounts with a friend? Let that be some food for thought! I don't intend on wasting my time watching replays or players games for foul play but just from curiosity today I watched a particular game from 4days ago. The replay I watched was vs BSL6-Cadenzie and the reason I watched it because I saw her have a 28-2 record and over 2220 points(For reference BSL6-Eonzerg has 2190 with 23-3 and he is the best non kor zerg in my opinion). I do not recall ever losing a game vs this individual with ANY race and I struggle getting and staying over 2.2k mmr currently. We had 9 minute long zvz game in which "she" had 270apm and for a split second in early game her spam got close to 700apm. Now I play pretty fast and I would have a hard time spamming to 700apm.... I do not watch her play but for this particular case I randomly watched 3 zvz games of her last streams and she had about 205apm all of the games. At the end of the game when it was evident that I had won her apm started to slowly but surely drop as if on purpose to get a lower overall apm. This also happened in other certain parts of the game. We have had issues in the past and for me she is not the most honest person to put it lightly. Maybe she just got lucky with this record and broke her fingers trying to win me cause she hates my guts but.......... I wouldn't put money on that . All in all I don't like the direction starcraft is going and am personally glad I play less and less.
P.S I don't want this post be a knock on people who won me fair and square in ladder gg's, just my general thoughts on the overall situation . Idk if broodwar chart is available for remastered but will definitely help to bring clarity to false accounts and games played if people are suspicous. Good luck to everyone who qualifies fair!
P.S 2 Small advice to organizers - For future BSL's, put a minimum of 100games needed so lucky streaks and shady gameplay would be harder to do

As far as I know, APM may fly in the sky in the replays if there were lags in-game.
Meanwhile Eon's MMR dropped significantly due to MMR decay (his last game was on Jan 15th)

I find it cute that you think that's Cadenzie! She lives in Korea now. Happily married to a Korean dude named Hongjoo. I wonder how that makes you feel given your history....

APM is sometime incosistent with replays but I put it multiple times and it gave the same exact number everytime for both of us. There was no lag in the games

Haha, i see :D. Well I'm glad to support your argument. I have nothing against or for Cadenzie as well... Just pointing out that she no longer lives in Europe so unless your games had TR12~16, it probably wasn't Cadenzie.

I never was a “D player” or claim that from back then. All I can say is, I did “reach” D as Shin mentioned, which is what I also think he tried/meant to say. I recall I had hit very low 1400s on a lucky heater of games. But no, by no means was I a ‘D’ player. I was averaging around maybe 1200-1250 (E) during those old fish days and even getting knocked down to ‘F’ occasionally. Let’s not start anymore crazy assumptions.

I think most of you don't know he reached D rank in OLD fish 4 years ago when only 3-4 foreigners achieved that at that time. No.. this wasn't the fish where you can easily get C this was when D rank was considered to be 2300 MMR korean level. So he did improve a lot ever since then. He should be able to get 2300 MMR especially on non vpn. I don't get why people are surprised by his mmr tbh. Aside from that, it seems like issue is cleared. Hope there is no further issue. Where did you get this info from? He wasn't D rank Fish back then lol. Right now I'd consider Sugo to be old D rank or so. Must have been done in secret because I recall playing with you, mvp, favian etc back then. No offense, but you weren't anywhere near D lvl back then. You're much better now.. but still. There were only a few D or better foreigners at that time. Michael, Bizzy, Dsaqwe, Eon, Trutacz and Draw ring a bell. I reached D in a few games as well on Aegyo's ID.

@kingdom. Don't lump hackers in with stream cheaters.
Steam cheaters = everyone can do Hackers = ... who can do?
Stream delay helps mitigate stream cheating. Doesn't mean it's alright to stream cheat. Let's all be crystal clear on that.

I just find it very funny that all the Europeans who commented here either don't care (who are probably going to be in BSL) or simply say "if you care, then set a delay." And then people in NA (who won't be in BSL) are super accusatory and all they can say is "well, we can't 100% prove it but ITS NOT OK TO DO!"
Ok? I don't think anyone is saying it's ok to do that. But if you see the difference in the two cultures, I guess it makes total sense now why Avi-Love can continue to make those NA jokes lol. Anyways, I just find the differences very funny between the two regions. It's the difference in reaction of people who will be in BSL vs. the people who won't be in BSL... seems the latter group cares a lot more.
In short:
You see Europeans post ... "We don't care, set a delay if you're going to complain"
You see NA post ... "BURN HIM AT THE STAKE, WE CAN'T PROVE IT 100%, BUT FUCK HIM, AND FUCK HIM MORE SINCE IT'S SUGO"
Anyways, please carry on.

I can vouch for Sugo's D on Fish, it's exactly as he described, just his peak. 85% of his games were against E-ranks. Aaand I don't think it would be possible to stream cheat snipe any E-rank there :D

@Sugo. My roots. 2v2, and at high level in foreigner scene for 95% of my BW "years". Many of my closest buds as an outgrowth: Europeans. Europeans who stream 2v2 against other high level 2v2ers. I myself, also streamed 2v2.
ICCUP dies and RE-mastered introduced. 2v2 scene left in the dust. Naturally try 1v1 rank. Make friends in 1v1 scene, primarily NA.
Here's some observations for you. - 10 years of 2v2 foreigner scene playing with streamers like Madinho, Kenzy, Scan, etc. No delay on any of them mind you. Not once in the 10 years of 2v2 play was there suspicion of users stream cheating. Not once. - 1 year 3 months of 1v1 rank/streaming. Primarily NA/SA players. Stream cheating becomes a thing.
For context, I'm not judging NA/SA players as being dirty. It's a TINY/HANDFUL of users that are tainting the image. Which is why I want to make it transparent that it isn't alright.
I want to have the same standard/expectation of NA players. Just stop giving me a reason not to.

You're a retard, I'll just say it now.
1. You say this dumb shit about a "vacuum" playing 3 games
2. You say you played me, knowing it's SuGo, 10+ times, but you want to ignore this.
3. You then use data of just 3 games to make an observation and formulate an opinion that Mitsua only goes 1g every game. Yes, someone whose played Broodwar for 10+ years only goes 1g and has never gone 2g against a Zerg. OK. Why would you ignore all the PREVIOUS data and formulate something based on only 3 data points?
You either need to go back to school, study math/statistics, or something. Not sure.
To Jealous' previous point, you've never been hard countered in your illustrious Starcraft career? Not to mention, one of the games you did beat me with a 5pool, so where was the "Stream cheat" then? Oh, stream cheating only happened the time your 5pool failed, right? Where was that data point in your calculations? And by the way, 1g is perfectly very good against 5pool since I open 9gate. For you to think I always go 1g and still try to 5p shows you're a real moron lol.
And by the way, the reason the "2nd gate" was late or whatever you conjured in your retarded mind, is because I was actually thinking to go 1g 1base tech play and try that out. I haven't even looked at that game once, so I don't even know if it was "late". Funny thing is, even if I went this route, it would've been same outcome... But I recall that I decided to just be even safer and go 2g, so that's why things worked out that way. So bad to have to justify something simple to an idiot who thinks 5p is going to win games. GTFO.
Just stop trying to act all righteous about this "bringing to light" and what not, you sound like a real retard. Do you think I need that to beat you? Stop trying to bring some case about a 5pool in here, it sounds so dumb. Don't try and sit here and use the very small data points you have, ignore the time your 5p won which is another data point you've conveniently ignored, continue to ignore the past 10+ years of SC data where I allegedly never go 2g in a PvZ and only 1g, and then continue to post non sense. Are you still that salty you lost a game where you went 5p? Lol.
I don't even want to argue with anyone in this thread. But out of everyone, you're actually posting the dumbest shit, but you probably think you're posting really intelligent stuff lol. You're posting dumber stuff than this NeMu guy.

@Sugo. Your defenders are making me clarify the only intent I have. To put you on the spot for suspicious behavior.
I don't know what kind of person pays for a 2nd Battle.net ID to enlist in a tournament on a smurf. Again, most of my long standing friends are European so maybe I'm biased but I don't know ANYONE that would do that.
This has nothing to do with you and me but I'd gladly take you up on a show match. Ofc I wouldn't stream it.
Again, please ...

Who cares? People knew it was me, I wasn't really going out of my way to hide it, as proven in some other comments earlier... Simply put, I find it easier and more calm to play on a smurf, and I tilt less. It's the same concept as why people have barcode IDs that you can't even search. No difference of buying an account or just using a barcode. Not like you'll know either way. If I recall, Avi-Love has different smurfs in BSL all the time, just as one example.
There's A LOT of foreigners who have barcode names, yes? Get your facts straight man. Use data to argue, not just these random opinions that you keep conjuring in your mind.
As I said before, I'll play in the RO24 and that's that.

Relax, its nothing to be ashamed of I am kinda charming but you are paying way too much attention to me for a married woman. I suggest focusing on your husband! You are also being wayyyyy to defensive and salty for an innocent person.

But will you accept the show match Sugo? BO5 sounds good.
By the way I love how there are 2 topics running on silmultanously XD

i dont care if you think i did stream cheating, maphacking, boosting, hacking into the blizzard server and altering stats or whatever you want to accuse me of but i did not flirt with you. if i flirted with you then please go ahead and type out what i said to flirt with you. holy moly.

Busted
Also, G5 is in Media. You know who else is in Media? Jaeyun. You know who casts show and grudgematches? Jaeyun. You have all been swindled. This is a publicity stunt to hype a grudgematch versus Sugo. You are all pawns.

you're being extremely creepy. please do not suggest that i flirted on you without proof as you were the one who mentioned it you are the one who fronts the proof not I. creep.

@Sugo. I'm not here to argue smurfs or educate you on difference of smurfing on a known ID vs unknown. I just hate having to point out the obvious... maybe I should put out a poll?
How many of you purchased a 2nd ID? Forget the reason why you would in first place. Please, even supporters. Tell me if you have a 2nd ID. If you do, tell me why.
Let me up the ante. I'll pay $5 for each European user who tells me they have a 2nd (paid )ID.
How's that?

What the hell is going on here?
This is a thread dedicated to BSL6's Ladder Tours, Nation Wars and Map Pool discussion. This is not a thread to air personal grievances and for trash talk. In fact, no thread is a thread for that. Please try to keep the discussion on-topic, and try to keep the accusations of hacking and stream-cheating without definitive proof outside of our forums. In fact, that kind of stuff should be handled through proper communication channels with the tournament organizers.
Please think of ZZZero and other tournament organizers, who put a lot of their free time and energy into organizing events for the BW community, before you decide to derail their threads with outstanding amount of bullshit.
PS. I've put this thread on a lockdown for a couple of hours, to give you all a chance to read this and think hard before posting when it's reopened.

Because I played him twice and he looked like he was hacking or stream cheating. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Before this thread gets locked for good... Who is everyone's favorite to win BSL Pro League? I can't pick Sugo because there will likely be a delay on the official BSL stream and since I can't pick TT1, I'm going with Kenzy.

Yea guys stop derailing the thread, lets all cheer for our favorite players in BSL6!

Well, if we derail, then BSL admins can probably post something before this gets shut down for good. Lol
Also, probably a good time to mention that all of what’s in these threads is a bit negative to all the amazing work Zzzero, Hatchet, Han, etc all do. So on a serious note, we should all probably stop and just let them manage it now/say some words.

Making a point that someone in a tournament may be cheating is now crazy?
You know, I play this game for fun. I entered this tournament, like others, for fun. I was under the impression that if someone is cheating in a tournament that you can point it out as people may and should care. Live tournaments have streams, on-stage screens, etc. Doesn't mean other players can flip on that stream or ask to view the stage screen and watch what their opponents are doing. It's cheating. Plain and simple. This guy, Kingdom, Arew, and all these other grown ass adults whom just think it's okay to cheat (PEOPLE HAVE ARGUED THIS QUITE LITERALLY)... like what can you say... I dunno... Truthfully I'm ashamed of this community. Apparently it's now just full of people with ZERO competitive morality. At this point, I wouldn't even care to have a conversation with half of these people, let alone hear their shitty opinions on stuff. I want no part of it. I'm out of here.

Just plain old wrong. Never once said that. Dont put words in my mouth. What I said was stream cheating is impossible to prove 100% thus it's the streamers RESPONSIBILiTY to take steps to ensure it does not happen. Not use no delay them cry after because you THINK someone may be cheating.

nah you clearly misunderstood me here and your clearly upset. So sorry if i phrased my words in a way that upset you apologize. Let me make my main argument clear, even though i expect you are not going to like it:
1) I consider stream cheating just as much cheating as hacking or ladder manipulating or match fixing. I condemn all sorts of cheating fully and uncompromisingly.
2) You have no proof SuGo is cheating, you are having a strong opinion but can't proof it to third parties. That is due to the fact that we talk about stream Cheating. From my Admins perspective (as long time Senior ICCUp Admin) there is a couple of tools that have been used in the past to convict Cheaters, including BWChart, Antihack Detection tools, IP comparision and in cases of ladder abuse, match history and such. All these cannot be applied when we talk about stream cheating, because it simply happens outside the software. We would need a fpview of the offender in question literally which any guilty offender would ofc not provide. Literally see from his perspective how he switches from ingame to your stream.
3) Punishing Cheaters is the prerogative and duty of Admins who run a Tour/Server by nature and not of players involved or attached to any party. Admins take a neutral ground and are not biased or reflect enough on their role to leave their bias out, worst case give any case to Admin colleagues who are not biased. Secondly it's the role of players to forward strong suspicions to the Admins w/o creating unnessary drama on the outside by contacting them. This gives Admins the best Chances to look into the case, gives the cheater the least warning. (even if SuGo cheated against you, hypothecically speaking, he will not continue to streamcheat because he is warned now) It avoids unnecessary drama in case an accusation is wrong. Furthermore, no matter if your accusation is right, all this drama creates a bad reputation for Zzzero's tournament and might look bad to sponsors and fans. He doesn't deserve this, this Tour is his passion as we all know. Especially you as a veteran from the old days could and should have thought about that before posting here. Calling players out in public does not improve chances of convicting them, it can damage the tournament integrity and the reporting player looks really infantile if his claim was invalid.
Pls compare the Mods statement, he already explained this:
On January 26 2019 03:29 2Pacalypse- wrote: What the hell is going on here?
5) Very likely, Admins will neither be able to confirm nor deny your claim. The will look into the replay multiple times and perhaps even think that some stuff is suspicious. Could those plays also be explained by Sugo being a crazy player or by him taking advantage of knowing your playstyle while you did not know it was him? Will they come to a certain conclusion that stream Cheating was involved or will they deny it with certainty? Likely, none of it.
6) That leaves us in a very precarious situation, where the damage to the integrity of the tournament has already been done and where it can't be easily repaired. You and Nemu brought this onto us, don't go public with accusations if you cannot proof them. It have taken you 5 clicks to set your stream delay and perhaps half an hour to cool off after that suspicious game to figure out the proper way of communicating your suspicion.
7) Just for clarification: im not friends or enemies of any involved party here. I don't know you or Sugo very well nor any other american players posting here. I barely know Nemu from back in the day and while Cadenzie is on my clan, we don't have the biggest contact. My interest in this subject is founded in my passion for BSL-6 and as a former ICCup admin who has some experience in running tours.
So far i didn't even look at the replay in question, i have full confidence that BSL Admins will do their best tho.
Out of respect for BSL-6 im not gonna continue this argument here, G5. Feel free to take it to PM if you want to talk about it further.

SuGo doesn't seem like he is streamcheating from that 11P Sugo vs 7P G5 replay. My point of view. 1) early 2 gates with cyber core = 1 zealot 4 dragoon push 2) he confirmed G5's # of dragoon at 5:15 game timer(100% no early DT.) Possibility 2a) robo tech 2b) late DT(really useless) 3) he confirmed probe scout coming out from 8 OC. 4) Pylon block by G5 when he wanted to expand, therefore he wants to take a very far location expansion. 5) he wants to hold G5's ramp as long as he can and check any unit unloading at 8 OC. 6) proxy pylons around the map where shuttle's route. 7) G5's speed shuttle harassment route was obvious to get caught in the middle of the map. 8) rally mining is not a rare case. SuGo did make non-stop probe and he has more than enough for 1 base.
SuGo has better knowledge and better multitasking(from replay) than what G5 did(from the VOD I watched on Friday, but now it is deleted. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/368330585?t=01h21m00s )

SuGo's 1st probe scout was delayed and it saw 1 goon, he then went back asap (he didn't go in to see G5's 2nd goon timing). 1 goon = possibility of fast citadel/DT.
21 2nd gate = 4 goon 1 zeal pressure, correct. Problem is SuGo didn't have any scouting info on whether or not his oppo was going DT in the early game. If you don't build your robo after 4 goons you die to DT, SuGo made his 5th and 6th goons (blindly) and started his robo at ~5:05. This = 100% dead vs DT. Scouting G5's goons at 5:15 is meaningless because had he gone DT he would already be dead, he made his robo too late. DT can be at your base at like 5:20.
Other points i don't really care about, my main point is he could have glanced at G5's stream to check whether or not he went fast citadel.

SuGo has better knowledge and better multitasking(from replay) than what G5 did(from the VOD I watched on Friday, but now it is deleted. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/368330585?t=01h21m00s ) SuGo's 1st probe scout was delayed and it saw 1 goon, he then went back asap (he didn't go in to see G5's 2nd goon timing).
Already answered this. I’ve played g5 a lot, he has never gone DT against me. There’s no logic in it. Why not make extra goons? If he went DT, ok, then I lost. But he didn’t and hasn’t in any previous games ever.
It’s simply “playing the player” and taking a calculated risk. Don’t tell me you’ve never played someone several times, picked up on a trend, and then abused it.
Anyways, done talking about this. Someone like Scan analyzes it and backed me up. Not to mention, G5 deleted the videos and his account - all sounds like some big ruse and accusation to me at this point.
Good luck continuing to find more stuff guys. You can argue with Scan now

I was replying to his first 2 points , i dunno anything about your history vs him. And in any case, that's a pretty stupid way to play. Why would you rely on your opponent to not do something? I've played him like 3 times and he went DT twice.

Maybe it is stupid (or smart, since I’m abusing him based on MY history of games against him?).
But it’s also stupid for you to dwell on this point as a basis of me cheating lol. “HE MADE TWO EXTRA GOONS, HES CHEATING!!”
Anyways, going to stop posting here. I should’ve done that a while ago. I appreciate Scan coming to help and also to others that gave supporting thoughts.
Good luck to those in BSL and for those that aren’t, continue to accuse and speculate. See you around.

You and the rest of FBW have bias and use that in your opinions and that’s very clear.
This alone doesn't mean you were stream cheating but like i mentioned, i've seen you in other ppls streams while you played them, several times. You played vs koget once, right when you guys matched i checked his viewer list and saw your id. After the game you came on his stream and asked "did we just play". That's just 1 example that stands out to me.
But like i said, if someone has an issue of playing vs possible stream cheaters (i'm still not 100% sure that you do btw, i just wouldn't risk streaming vs you) then they should really consider setting a delay or they can just turn the scene off during the game. That's why when we played our BO7 i turned my stream off btw (which was a while back, well before any of this BSL stuff).
And I dunno what "FBW bias" means, my opinions are my own.. anyways, good luck in the tourney.

Fast dt build only makes 2 dragoons max. It does not really matter if sugo made 5, 6th goon first and then robotics. Also, two forge wall can buy a lot of time to prepare his observer out.
The only reason fast dt can go a late game is when the opponent is playing defensively such as 1 gate robo and then 2nd gate. Making cannons and ht storm defense into goon.
I dont know the game clock of fast dt gen, but it is around 5 min mark. It arrives around 520~530(depends on the map) at terrans natural in PvT. Terran makes ebay at 4:20, 5 min at turret to defend this.
Using this information of pvt fast dt expansion build, that 1 zealot and 4 goons can break the front and run in to damage opponents eco. Opponent has to make a decision. Send 1dt and 1dt to defend or 2dt to defend. It will take a long time to kill dragoons since its movement speed is faster than dt. Also 1dt cannot break two forge wall before ob comes out.
The best defense is a good offense.
Edit: i forgot to mention about scouting time. It is useless to scout after the first gate like what G5 did. Either core scout, 1st goon scout mostly. I can assume SuGo wanted to scout location with his probe before he gets prepared to push. That map has high ground advantage and sugo probably didnt want to lose any shield of his dragoon or whatever his thought in his mind is.
I sometimes watch afreeca stream and i saw several times best scouts after his core is finished.

Doesn’t anyone have any way of combatting get disconnects on ladder? Really prevents you from moving up through c and b where 3 out of every 4 games are “undecided” and no one gets any mmr points because a player pulls their Ethernet plug when they are losing the game lol.
