Sharp's ability to seize the initiative almost every single time Flash managed to invade some of his territory or gain some map control and somehow knew exactly where to consolidate his army and break one of Flash's front lines was fucking amazing. I think his counterplay against Flash's drop on the bottom right expansion around 25 min in particular was brilliant. He more or less ignored the move, deploying just enough tanks to make sure Flash didn't just seige the ramp and kill his 4 oclock base. Then he chose to attack botton left knowing that Flash would have to respond to an attack on his natural, which he used as an opportunity to snipe his mineral only which had fewer defences due to Flash commiting more units to defend his currently contained 3rd gas base which naturally had more priority. This then opened up the left/top-left of the map for various tactics and opportunities which included killing the left-side CC, a solid contain on the two top-left expansions, and spreading Flash's forces enough to give him a chance to break the position on he bottom-right expansion. I really thought the drop at 5 oclock was such a strong move from Flash, that it would have allowed him to effectively limit Sharp's expansion direction and take those bottom bases giving him the economy lead he needed to make a comeback. But holy shit Sharp was having none of that and just completely outplayed him. Superior positional play, tactical mastery; TvT at it finest. Can't even be sad Flash lost. | ||
