Y'all lack of faith in Jaedong is disturbing. Group D will be amazing to watch!

He's gonna wreck everyone with hydras

Edit: Also, i think JD has a decent chance, Soulkey is ZvZ where JD has more experience and confidence and two Ps not named BIsu. Only group C would have been hard with Bisu/Mind/Shuttle imo

Woof a lot of people are down on Jaedong, didn't he reach the top of the ladder recently? What am I missing.

Stork is an easy touch for him last ASL and JvZ. Why do people think the group is such a bad one for him?

Precisely, Jaedong destroyed Stork last time they played and then it's JvZ + ZvP which is much better than ZvT for him.

I mean i am a big JD fan but his recent spon match stats aren't that amazing to phrase it positively :D
Still believe in him though ofc! Still a tough group imo

So many people not liking JD's chances. Maybe because he has so many fans who don't want to get their hopes up. I think JD has a good shot of making it out. Well, a lot better chances than Stork (sorry to say).
Not sure which is the real group of death. I'm taking a hard look at Group B and it looks pretty fierce. Effort, Larva, Hero all have legit chances of being champ. And lol Shine is just being forgotten despite being a Finalist last season -- although I can sympathize with that opinion...

Does anyone understand the reasoning behind Larva's pick? Wouldn't it make more sense to choose Rain or Ssak? If Ssak is chosen, then still Killer -> Rain, Rain -> Sharp and then it's Ssak -> hero/JD, which is winnable for Ssak. So one less coinflip possibly for Larva?

Thanks Seeker for translating, that was really good.

I don't understand why Rain wanted to be put in group D. Group A was fine, I mean Baxter? Sharp? Clearly not the toughest opponents. He prefers playing against soulkey and jaedong ?!

Also Larva is a dead nerd.

Jaedongs reactions were so funny. When killer considered picking him it was amazing.

Seeker translated on the tastosis stream for the duration of the selection ceremony. Pretty good overall, would recommend for you to watch it.

maybe he just doesn't care who his opponents are? That and maybe he loves Flash enough to want to sacrifice himself for him to advance

This. Did I miss the part where Rain suddenly became good at pvz lately? Also Stork in pvp? No idea what's on his mind.

It wasn't crappy It was better than anything I heard so far from other casters tbo. One thing though, the background volume should have been lowered because I couldn't hear you sometimes.

Oh man that JD group, that will be tough

He avoided Terran and Bisu, only way his group could be easier is if it was Killer instead of Soulkey.

It's really hard to say imo. While you have a point about avoiding terran i would still have prefered a group with one of the "weaker" terrans and shuttle or something.
JD didn't really look like a monster in any matchup in spon matches and Rain, Soulkey and even Stork are imo harder to prepare for. But that's mainly a feeling tbh so i could be totally wrong.
I probably would have even prefered JD to be in group B

My thoughts exactly. If there is anything where JD can deiver whether he is in bad shape or not it is ZvZ. Besides he has already been in pure Z groups before and topped them, so.

This D group doesn't look good also because I'd like all the players to advance.

So here's what I hope will happen. Not sure I'll vote the same on liquibet though.

[A] - Flash, Mong
[B] - Effort, Shine
[C] - Shuttle, Bisu
[D] - Rain, Stork

You think stork has the pvz to get past both jaedong and soulkey? O.O

JvZ is still there, maybe not as strong as it was before.

Everybody should keep in mind that Jaedong has always been a very mechanical player unfortunately age eats away this quality first. He himself said that he no longer feels that his fingers are as fast, in addition he has wrist problems as well which he does not speak of often (correct me). Watching his streams I noticed that in late game he sometimes missclicks units or starts spaming too much to compensate for misscliks. This is a sad thing to witness. Nevertheless, his games stay being nail-biting to the end whatever form he is and that is why he is my favourite player of all times and I hope he tops this group!
