We need the good old who's who thread to come back so that we can check up on ClouD and Nony's ladder ranks. Top level players should get the reps checked when they run into a foreigner they don't know ;d. On a side note, I fully expect the non-korean invites to finish 5-8. :-/

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What do this players have in common? They have a great following and are very prominent and have had no major tournament success in Broodwar since 2009. 2009 Either the organisation of this tournament is ignorant to the fact, that major events were played between 2010 and the SC:R Launch or they simply choose to go with invites that will generate more viewership. im fine with the second options in theory, but if you want to have the fan favourites, make a showmatch. Such a thing has no place in a major tournament, where invite spots should have been given on merit of good tour results that are not just outdated. Invite ![]() ![]() ![]()

To me those invited players with a bit of practice can be easily the best foreigner even nowadays. Moreover Starcraft Remastered made many old players come back for the first time since SC2 was released, so it makes sense from a organizational point of view to invite the best players from that old era, since they appeal to a wider audience.

Obviously they still have the talent and game understanding. I was saying tournament invites should be based on recent results in major tours and not size of the TL fan club. It's understandable from an organizers PoV as you said, but the wrong approach for an open major tournament. Like i pointed out, that would fit for a show match type event much better.
