Meh, first game pretty ok, but mostly boring day. I wish Flash had shown some showmanship and switched a protoss or terran to the group so the games wouldn't have been done in an hour and we could have had more interesting or at least longer games.

Of course, God does what God does best, that is maximizes his chances of winning in and outside of the game. Can't blame him really.

On the bright side, the other groups should be more interesting with the lower tier zergs out.

Im still rootin for Bisu, hes really in a good groove lately.

Im not sure if soulkey has what it takes to give him that first loss. However, if anyone can come back and win two in a row, it would be bisu.

Nice build by Shine vs Flash, getting the +1 Carapace really early to counter the +1 Weapons, and skipping mutas since mutas don't do much vs 5 rax anyway. I wish I could have seen the build play out on a map where Zerg is allowed to take a 3rd, shame.

Glad Shine advanced. Hope to see Shine vs a Protoss in RO8 since he creates such interesting tension against them. Obviously Shine vs Bisu would be a lot of fun.

Flash was in absolute god mode in game 1, the way he was able to do everything so well and finding everything is crazy.

Hyun had a great strategy and executed it well but didn't protect his 6 enough, I would've loved to see the game go on with him keeping that alive and develop into the late game.

Flash is just so skilled and found everything Hyun was trying to do from there, I was excited as hell for a bit though, beautiful plan that Flash just crushed with pure skill.

Shine played really well in the zvzs, well done.

Overall a bit of a flat day, but more exciting than expected.
I can't wait for group B though!

Game 1 was amazing. We wish the groups were round robin instead of duel tournament to reward preparation like this more. It makes for very exciting games

Stork just doesn't look motivated. It was obvious that he wasn't going to make it far into the tournament. Jaedong is the same way; he doesn't look motivated.

It was more entertaining than I expected. Great showing by Hyun and Shine, the two TvZs were especially great. I was almost expecting them mentioning July with the attitude Shine took.

Man, I feel like ASL could really benefit from a bo3 format in the groups, maybe the elimination matches bo3? To me a bo1 feels a bit unfair, especially as some of the maps seem to be a bit unbalanced. (That ash world one seems zerg favored)

I don't get why all these zergs aren't expanding for so long. Sure, Flash does a great job running around on the map, intercepting drones/bases, but after the first base is killed it takes those zergs forever to send out another drone. Also, Hyun did prepare for anti-drop, the first dropship flew right over his burrowed ling, yet he didn't scourge the dropships. I really don't get it.

Flash's games played out like a superhero series. A motley bunch of superheroes keep throwing all kinds of special tactics and tricks at him. But just when you think he's down and out, he rises back and whoops their sorry asses. Flash makes such a great supervillain.
