I voted Sea and sSak to advance, but I somehow think zero might beat sSak. It looks like a nail-biter. All these tournaments for broodwar really cheer me up!

Well, at least ZerO has only one matchup to practice until the finals ^^

Hoping for Sea to come to the finals though

Last has this easy, especially with his TvT.

Given how Zergs perform these days, I can easily see a Ssak vs Last rematch. In a Bo5 too

Sea is an online gaming god. I wouldn't use easy to describe their matchup at all.

You have a good point... but I still think Last has this easy.

u w0t m8

sea has always been historically strong in tvt even during the kespa days.
more so now when flash and fantasy are no longer playing and very few terrans give a shit practicing tvt

other than ssak and last no one can claim to be consistently better than sea
mong, hiya, mind, piano etc their tvt play are not as fundamentally solid and methodical as sea, and it shows in their games and win rate

No one gives a shit playing mirrors anymore, only toss players play their mirrors.

Also, this will be the first tour registered in the TLPD where Sea and Last will meet.

its precisely they do not give a shit about tvt mirrors that those with weaker tvt fundamentals could not match up to sea since they dont practice enough. just look at mind and his lopsided winrates in all matchups

Some epic dance at the middle leads to Ssak's medics and a lot of marines getting impaled by lurkers. Ssak is forced back to his ramp.

Another engagement at the middle. This time two huge armies. Ssak with tanks and vessels added.

Zero gets 2 vessels!

Ssak pushes towards 12 but defiler stops the advance.

Another vessel goes down at 1 natural.

Ssak takes his min only.

Ninja scourge take out a vessel near Ssak's nat!

Lol rematch because Sea proxy 8 raxed. On the re-game Sea actually sends a scv out early which made Terror think he was going to proxy 8 rax again but Sea just builds a depot near his choke.

Its going to be a bo1.

ZerO that crazy guy... Saw him on his stream earlier yesterday checking out old sSak TvZ games and how he responded to zergling rushes with SCVs, presumably that's where the idea of 4pooling originated

Hopefully GeLaar or others can recap us on the post-game interviews as VODs are out

Apparently, there will be 3 star girls (Cam) beginning in semi finals. There will also be terror fans for finals.

Terror announces for the second time that from Ro4 onwards there's gonna be "star girls".

The finals has been moved from Sunday to Saturday, on account of the fact that it will be quite late (too late for a Sunday night), and he's hoping that fans will come attend it. He's hoping it'll finish by 12:30 AM.

Britney asks him how he would solve the problem of the urine smell in his apartment. Terror says he's not gonna do anything about it and suggests that the fans should just stuff their noses.

Terror interview with Sea.

Terror: "Aren't you just too good?!"
Sea: "Awwh, you..."
Terror: "Last was the runner-up in the last SSL but you outclassed him in every aspect of the game."
Sea: "I'm actually really confident in my TvT. I thought people weren't recognizing that, but I couldn't say anything, so I tried to say it through the game."
Britney: "Whom would you prefer to meet in the Ro4?"
Sea: "Since I got to the semifinals, I don't really care whom I face next. I'll just do my best."
Terror: "Don't bullshit, just tell us who you think is the easier opponent... Hello?"
Sea: "I guess Ssak would be better."
Terror (to Britney): "What an asshole."

Zero vs. Ssak game 2 had one of the most brilliant moves I've seen in BW in quite some time. Zero 4-pooled but sent out his Overlord in such a way as to see when the scouting SCV would arrive. He then sends out two drones to his natural to bait Ssak into trying to stop him from putting down a supposed expansion! Timing-wise this looks like a usual Zerg build to Ssak, so he thinks he's safe, doesn't go into the Zerg's main, and delays his Barracks by a few precious seconds.

I don't think the level of play is lower now than it was during Kespa times.

which was offset by ssak bad response towards the end where he leave 2 marines in the open to be gobbled by lings with such slow scv response. he had killed one drone in zero main and all he had to do was keep his scvs and rines tight together at the mineral line and get more rines . it really look a throw.

thanks for translations btw

Thanks for the VODs and translations guys!

I don't think the level of play is lower now than it was during Kespa times.

I think the most significant difference is how players today treat lategame strategy. Lategames back then always felt calculated and moves by players all have purpose. Comparatively, lategames these days feel a bit lacking, tactics and strategy-wise (we're so spoiled).

Last has this easy, especially with his TvT.

Given how Zergs perform these days, I can easily see a Ssak vs Last rematch. In a Bo5 too
