There is no ego in this it all, he was doing exactly as required per the rules and be explicit about his skill. Well into C- is an honest assessment of skill, no different than saying "high C-" or anything similar. Saying he feels he might be too strong for the league is also appropriate, given the nature of this league. If he doesn't say that, then he runs the risk of me kicking him out for trying to bullshit his way in by being misleading about his skill level.
