Just to confirm anyone who's signed up with a list of multiple teams I've sorted into teams for now. Once the 6th team is filled then we can start looking to fill out the other two teams, but I've assigned everyone to teams that are in so far.

do you try to actively balance teams based on your knowledge of players' skill? fun league might get not so fun if your team keeps losing all the time.

Thankfully most people gave either one team, or two teams that they'd like to join so I've ended up doing it at sort of a first come first serve basis on the teams. As you got added to my list depending on what your teams were you got put on one. The people who didn't give a team I used a random number generator to put them on teams that didn't have enough players.

There's very few people who've signed up who I actually know their skill and they mostly gave teams they wanted to join so personal bias never came into anything other than placing myself on the team I wanted to join as I was the first person to be added to my list.

There's a very slight chance that one team might dominate but since I don't actually know the skill levels of the majority of players I can't say for sure or not, we'll just have to see what happens. I was hoping that we'd get enough players that teams would organise themselves not to play their best players every single week if they have a stacked team, but of course that relies on me having to trust people not to be assholes, but from my experience the TL community, especially those still playing BW seems rather friendly..

I can't really add anything else other than we're still missing a few people to fill out the teams and we're missing two complete teams and at least 4 from another. So for now all I can really do is see how it goes. Now we're at the final stretch of initial sign ups I'll start getting the main OP ready in the hope that it can start pretty soon. I said before but my main purpose for doing this is to give people a chance to play together in a team environment so if that works as I want it to, then that's a success for me. :>

Yo can we have a poll regarding FS? I think a lot of people really really like FS. It is totally a pain in the ass to play games on outsider when you get 99% of your practice on FS.

We could do, but to be honest I kinda want to promote people to play other maps. If it's what people want I'll put it in, but playing and learning other maps is good :p

No playing and learning other maps is awful. Every tourney ever that gets hosted these days tries to throw in all sorts of weird maps that no one ever practices. It's super annoying. It would be nice to have for once a tourney that reflects what we actually get to work with.

It would be nice to see some underused maps in this league since it's a big mix of skill levels and whatnot. Even dropping some of the go-to non-FS tourney maps like Desti and Outsider in favour of others would be nice imo.

Well it is a proleague set-up right? Which means even if FS is there, it's not like every game is on it anyways. I know for myself, while I like learning a specific build for a non-standard map like Mist, it is nice to also have a completely standard map like FS or relatively standard like CB. So that you can have a week where you can practice laddering rather than just with practice partners.
