I can tell u one of the staff gave me the reps and said u can upload them, just before StarCraft Final, the last day in WCG,i don't think they uploaded these few replays, which will give bad impact on WCG.

And please answer us when can we look Final game and Lx vs July Midas vs Mondragon and so on.

Draco vs iloveoov all 3 games were absolutely breathtaking. Amazing display of skills.
I'm really surprised what a beast draco got. As well as strategically, but also in terms of macro and micro. Really amazing. The 2nd game was more like Draco dictating oov and not the other way around. But oov is oov .. : D

The final was played on stage so the replayes where saved on the machines down there, reps got saved for sure, but i could not tell you the reason why they are not released. WCG ended yesterday evening, none is there anymore beside of the headquater and the ppl cleaning up, hope they will fix it later on at least

I do not badtalking him, first of all the replays he uploaded where given to a special person from china with permission from headquater, she got also from other sections, but not to upload them for the public use. Since she didn´t look like a ppl you have to mistrust, i guess these reps where uploaded intern on a chinese host where Mr. Wufan took them without permission and uploaded them.
If you think you could run a event with 700 gamers and arround 60 referees where everyone does what he wants, no matter what the rules are you gonna fail badly. Players will try to cheat and abuse like always (did not happen in BW but in other games), thats why referees get clear rules for the players and for themselv to follow them, some you like and some you might dislike and think that they are useless, but still you have to follow them.
\

Do you think there is anything WCG can improve upon for the next event?

The tournaments itself are doing fine, specially Broodwar had no problems at all, everyone was manner and gave his best. The location was worst ever you could choose i guess since it was like end of the world and ppl where spred over 50 km, so no way to meet the others without paying a lot of money for a cab. So choosing a eventplace with better solution for the players and athe public would be nice since i felt sry for all the ppl that used a long time to go there and where not allowed to enter the tournamentarea without a Staff- or Presscard, even not the family and friends of the players that traveled often few hours to see their guys playing.

Unfortunatly, like in every big even in this class , is all based on money and sponsors, BroodWar is still the big baby of Korea and this is good so, but also the reason why the treatment is even more special.
Korean´s know perfectly how to run tournaments, but they have their own rules and they expect everyone to follow them. If you want to call that sucking dicks to the head of WCG, feel free, but without the koreans and their sponsors a event like WCG would never happen. CPL is and always will be a shooterrelated event and Angel always hated BW. So pissing the koreans is not really serving the community, even if that means to wait for the replays.

I cant believe I just read through 9 pages of garbage, but I did.

Those people who said WCG OWES us something are retarded. What have YOU done zergc1 and Sfydjklm to be owed anything? You sit on your ass at home, complaining about the speed and manner in which things are done, when you yourself have never had to do a fucking thing to recieve this tournament.

Wufan, you are a stupid fuck for stealing replays. I stuck up for you last year, but only because the incident was so poorly handled by GG.net. This year, you are a dope. Your actions hurt BW, and hurt WCG. Without following the rules, you jepordize our chances at having BW in WCG again.

This goes for anyone: Just because you dont like HOW things are run, done, or handled, does not give you any right to steal it. Unless you have taken steps to contribute to WCG or the community, you have no right to complain.

This community, more and more, is full of whiny fucks. You know why? Because for years commited people have put in back breaking efforts to keep this community alive, and it has spoiled the masses. People automatically assume they are entitled to the best, they preach about things they have no knowledge about, and when something goes wrong they crusify the people who have been trying.

Could things have been handled better? Of course. I was mad about the replays too. But, just like the sandlot, there are rules to follow. Like them or not, it is peoples responsibility to respect them.

I agree with wufan completely, even moreso because the admin gave him permission... but even without permission i still dont think it's wrong.

Mani is right WCG definitely doesn't owe anything to anyone, other than to their sponsors. But on the other hand Manifesto7 would you say that we owe something to WCG? I think you probably would say yes to this, and i'd have to disagree if that was the case... I don't think just because a group of committed individuals puts their time and effort into something they should be instantly declared out-of-bounds to all criticism, and infallible when it comes to their decision making and management. WCG has proven every year that they are incapable of releasing a timely and complete pack of the events replays. I think this in part leads people to want to take charge and get the replays they want for themselves. Maybe if WCG were more reliable in this way it wouldn't be a recurring problem? And it's not just an issue with starcraft either, demos and replay files tend to find their way out in most games.

It's being blown way out of proportion. Just because of a few replays accusations start flying about how the wcg is in danger of being dragged through the mud and that its putting at risk some of the work of the wcg? Come on.. be realistic.. in the grand scope of things it really doesn't hurt anyone. You need to look at it comparatively like wufan is saying.. why be so critical about this, and it really was just a very small group of replays that were being circulated.

The fact that you have people paying close attention to wcg's event on websites with discussion and coverage serves to help make the wcg a stronger event. And if a few replays get leaked then so what, thats the price you pay. Replays and demos are always being released ahead of time and WCG doesn't seem to be being damaged that badly.

How many people just end up waiting anyway, and download the replays in zip or rar files that people mirror and post the link in a thread. Who the hell would go through meticulously downloading each replay when links to mirrored packs of files is allowed to sit in these threads. Are we then also guilty of stealing those hits and traffic from wcg's website by allowing people to post their pack of replays directly here, when normally each person would have had to go to their main wcg site to download each rep individually? Did anyone get written permission from wcg to host a pack of their replays on TL's bit torrent tracker? I highly doubt it, but I don't think that it should be necessary anyway. Bottom line is that the whole argument of stealing bandwidth or potential visitors from their site when u look at it in the relative terms of amount of replays leaked versus total amount of replays, and in potential traffic diverted versus total amount of traffic, is pretty weak.

Oh and I guess Ilvy should be the only one allowed to comment in this thread because 'people that have no fucking clue about how things work should just stay quiet'? Turn that frown upside down and smile.. I know its an issue thats been brought up before but rightfully so. If people disagree with a policy as stated by some administrators of course they are going to do what they want sooner or later. So stop feeling disrespected just because people disagree and do what they want. And wow.. if as it turns out an admin also gave wufan the go-ahead to post them as long as it's on or around the time of the final on the last day...? Why is this even in question. I think people should get off the same soapbox they were preaching on last year while crucifying wufan and just realise that their argument is tired and dried up.

people need to chill the fuck out, god fucking damn. Manifesto7 I think "stupid fuck" is a little harsh for whatever atrocity you think wufan has committed. If he did indeed upload the replays without permission, then yes, he was wrong and Wufan should respect the wcg administration for the hardwork and commitment they put into running this event. If there were no clear restrictions on replay uploading and wufan uploaded them, then we can choose to thank him (or not) for trying to service the bw community and/or helping his own website. Either way this situation will just become a he said she said mess, with nothing getting resolved in the end. The difference is a couple days of wait for a bunch of replays. But the result is ten pages of comments with everyone yelling at each other.

To the people who complain about everything bw related, wgt, wcg, sandlot: express your opinions in a more respectful manner. the people who run the events, as previously mentioned, mostly do it out of love and goodwill, they do not deserve a lot of the retarded flames dished out by the people here.

To the people who think no one has the right to complain because we don't put in any work. You are wrong. All of us here is apart of the starcraft community, We have all, either by playing the game, following the progaming scene, watching replays, vods, inputting feedback, visiting teamliquid, basically caring, by doing any of that we are keeping the community alive. And for that all of us who care enough deserve a say in issues such as this no matter how retarded the comments are (there have been many). When blizzard promised wgt and then did little to follow up on it. We have the right to complain, just not repeatedly over twenty pages with idra flaming Ilvy flaming idra flaming skew flaming IIvy. Basically... everyone on both sides please be more respectful, we're part of the same boat. We all want to keep starcraft alive. Not worth it getting riled up over imo the more pettier issues such as this. Let's just all enjoy the progamer replays we get from this and look forward to a bigger and better wcg next year.
