Hi, and welcome to the C-Ranks Teamleague Season 2 Signup Thread!
What is this?
The C-Ranks Teamleague Season 2 Signup Thread... Duh.
This will be the thread where players can signup with teams or as free agents, where a draft will take part before the season starts.
When will the season start?
The season will start September 28th, 2013. Games will be played at TBA every Saturday, and will run for about 7-10 weeks, depending on the number of teams that signup and the format of the playoffs.

Where can the games be played?
Games should be played on iCCup or Fish with both Anti-Hack and LAN Latency on. However, if problems with the server arise, then talk to an admin and see if you can play on one of the public servers or Gameranger.
On iCCup, the channel will be Op CRTL.
On Fish, the channel will be Op CRTL.
How can I watch the games?
Hopefully, with the help from the players, we can have replays submitted in an organized fashion and we can have all of our wonderful and beautiful casters cast the games in a fabulous way.
How will the season play out?
Ideally, 6-8 teams should signup, and the games will be played in a Best-out-of-5 series. However, the way the sets will work are similar to the way CRTL Season 1 playoffs went. If Team A wins the first 3 sets/maps, then the last two sets/maps are nulled and Team A defeats Team B 3-0.
How will the playoffs play out?
This will be something I leave up to the players. I'll be spoilering a poll right underneath...
Option 1) Top 4 teams advance. 1st place vs 4th place/2nd place vs 3rd place.
Winners go on to play in the finals. Losers go on to play for 3rd place.
Option 2) Top 4 teams advance. 1st place gets a bye to the finals. 2nd place gets a bye to the semi-finals. 3rd place vs 4th place.

How to sign-up!
Are you eligible?
Of course, we can't go on this thread without talking about CRTL Season 1 and the problems it faced. B- players were a main focal point of talks. That and of course, something else occurred later on in the season, but we'll talk about that later.
Anyways, for CRTL Season 2, players who have reached B- as their max rank will not be eligible to play. Players from max E rank to max C+ rank are allowed to play. Note how I said max. If you've ever hit B- at one point or another, you will NOT be eligible to play unless there are some weird reasoning as to how you hit B-. However, any B- player that wishes to present a case will be reviewed by SynC[gm] and L3gendary.
How do I sign-up?
Teams can signup with a minimum of 4 players, so multiple teams will not have to rely on being centralized mainly around free agents. Players without teams can signup in this thread as a free agent by posting the following...

RULES
- Winning team captain must submit ALL 5 replays to CRTLReps@yahoo.com Failure to do so after 48 hours of the last set played will result in a overturned 3-0 walkover loss.
- Captains of each team must submit lineups via Skype/PM by every Wednesday of the regular season. Each day a captain does not submit the lineup, they will lose a set, which means if a captain does not submit lineups until Saturday, they will lose 3-0.
- Rescheduling and postponing are allowed, HOWEVER... Do not postpone games after the Tuesday of every Saturday. If players cannot play by the deadline, a sub will be allowed. Also, if I find out that a captain purposely submitted a lineup with a player that couldn't play by Tuesday just to see what the matchup will be, you will be banned from future CRTL events.
- If a player does not show up in 30 minutes from the time of the games without notice, it will be a walkover.
- Bad mannering will not be allowed. Insulting your opponents will result in a disqualification and you will be kicked out from CRTL. Things like manner Hatcheries and CC's are encourage, though. For my own amusement, of course.
- You must play with the ID you registered with.
- If you signed up with an account, but reached your max rank on another smurf account, I ask that you PM me what the account is.
- Players that sign-up during the season, after the free agency sign-up period has ended, will be placed on a team that either has the least amount of players, or the team that feels appropriate for another player.
- Teams that want to add a player during the season must contact L3gendary or SynC[gm] for confirmation.
- After Week 5 of the season, no more players are allowed to sign-up. Meaning, after Week 5, no new players are allowed to join.
- Transfers are allowed amongst teams as long as all 4 parties agree and confirm the transfer; the admins, the player(s) being transferred, and the two team captains.
Prizes
Players will receive points during the regular season.
+2 points per win
+1 point per loss
-2 points per forfeit loss
-1 point per day for captain for late replay/lineup submission
The winning team's players will receive the following prizes.
2-5 points - 1 month TL+
6-9 points - 2 months TL+
10-13 points - 6 months TL+ (or $15)
14+ points - 1 year TL+ (or $25)
Also, we'll have a couple of prizes for the rest of the players from non-winning teams.
MVP (most points): 6 months TL+ (or $15)
Most active (most games played, not MVP): 2 months TL+
If there is a tie, a winner will be decided by a random draw.

I will change up the map pool a bit this season, and have about a total of 8 maps that will be rotated around during the season. If there is any specific maps that you would like to see/played on, I am open for suggestion.
So out of the 15 maps that I listed, just vote Yes or No to the ones you would like to see featured in CRTL.

As for the lack of teams/players, I wouldn't know what to say... Maybe because it's me that hosting it, not L3gendary? Maybe it's because of the craziness that happened last CRTL that's making people reluctant to sign up? Maybe the lack of a prize pool? We'll see, I'll try to make do with what we have if things don't work out the way I want it to.

well the point is if you check their match history that they continued to play and did not improve and barely went into b- (6022 pts) meaning if they played one more game and lost, all of a sudden they would've been eligible. Furthermore Sero 4-2'd reclusive who also is denied. So I understand you are going case-by-case but I'm curious how Ihufa who has hit b- would be eligible over these players.
edit: I would like to also comment on your post about the players saying they were applying AS b- and I think that if you do take a good look @ the level of their b- it was more of an honour's system declaring themselves perhaps at the top of the chain of c+ to be legitimized so they wouldn't cause drama at later stages in the tour. i.e they are about solid C+/ high C+ in level but don't win vs many b- at all, hence the mass game amount to maintain C+ and low B-
Furthermore, it's funny how Cryoc was in the previous season when he was clearly in the high B range and it was quite evident. What I propose it to keep the competition up to those who are seeking improvement and active gamers. If you don't want them all on one team, perhaps distribute a bit more evenly and have some sort of penalty where if they are blowing opponents out of the water they can be suspended (or removed). The reason for this is that the activity is down lately so not allowing those active players participate in a mid level competition seems detrimental to BW activity as a whole.
Also, Glio and CHRH are qualified? You just said you would review but didn't give your assessment to these players. My Plan is to grab 4-6 players who are C+/B- (low b- or of capability to maybe get b-) and then another 4-6 players who are on the bottom of c- who can grow through-out the season.

Draw, that's exactly what we did last season. This time we want it to be a true C level league. If the issue is a lack of a gambit cup-like league for these players then i would be open to organizing something like that but someone would have to fund it or do it without a prize pool.
edit: as for these particular players, glio would likely be allowed not sure about reclusive. You'd have to give me more time to make a determination but tell them to sign up if they want a chance. It's not going to be perfect but it won't be like last season where the majority of those that actually played had hit B- at least once. This is a league for C players to improve not for B- players to prove themselves.

IMO you need to stop using Iccup rank as skill measurement altogether, it doesn't really mean anything anymore. I don't know what's best to replace it with, but even guessing is going to be more accurate at this point.

its pretty accurate for guesstimating skill in d-ranks, if the goal was to keep all the previous seasons' top players in d-ranks
just pick someone as the max of allowed skill and don't let anyone with a high rating than him join

We'll aim for 6 teams so about 50 or more players. Currently we have 25, we won't be starting until we have enough so tell everyone you know! Also, we need some captains to form teams so indicate if you are interested in that.
The season will be 2 round-robin rounds, or 10 matches total with the top 4 teams advancing to playoffs.
Players will receive points during the regular season.
+2 points per win
+1 point per loss
-2 points per forfeit loss
-1 point per day for captain for late replay/lineup submission
Prizes
The winning team's players will receive the following prizes.
2-5 points - 1 month TL+
6-9 points - 2 months TL+
10-13 points - 6 months TL+ (or $15)
14+ points - 1 year TL+ (or $25)
Also, we'll have a couple of prizes for the rest of the players from non-winning teams.
MVP (most points): 6 months TL+ (or $15)
Most active (most games played, not MVP): 2 months TL+
If theres a tie winner will be decided by a random draw.

I feel I know them well enough to say that all of the pSi2 guys are legit yellow rank users imo. Also many of these guys haven't shared IDs at all. I am mostly certain that they have as much 'other aliases' as any other somewhat frequent iCCup user nowadays.

I'd feel happy to vouch for TheMarine, Toka, and XaXo not being above C+ in skill, and Marine probably not above D- in skill for PvZ. Other than that I've heard good things about Buldo and Letalis but don't know them that well personally, and the rest, no idea.

Postponing is possible, but there is a limit to how long you can postpone and your opponent can deny your PP and simply take the walkover win if he chooses to.
Edit: Also, still in need of about 3-4 more teams to make this league happen! A team can sign up, but they must have a minimum of 4 original players.

Even though there's already poll for the match time I'm looking at 16:00 GMT (+00:00) on Sundays specifically so as not to conflict with the TLS broadcast or DRTL. Well, ihufa and dcemberzerg are both leaning towards not playing or will have low availability. Until I talked to l3g it seemed MVP wasn't going to be able to play either so we were looking at a roster of maybe 5-6 players. Quirinus was also, and maybe still is, unsure.

- Players that sign-up during the season, after the free agency sign-up period has ended, will be placed on a team that either has the least amount of players, or the team that feels appropriate for another player.
- Teams that want to add a player during the season must contact L3gendary or SynC[gm] for confirmation.
- After Week 5 of the season, no more players are allowed to sign-up. Meaning, after Week 5, no new players are allowed to join.
- Transfers are allowed amongst teams as long as all 4 parties agree and confirm the transfer; the admins, the player(s) being transferred, and the two team captains.

I can tell you this wont work. If there are already teams switching over from season to season and thus also from teamleague to teamleague, you cant deny them to stay together.
I tried to enforce it, too, but it simply does not work. Even if you enforce it, people will not stay active with an other team for like 90 % probability.
The only thing you can do is, just say that all people really should sign up as free agents, but if they are already signed with a team, let them be with them.
What would you say, if whole Courage moved up and you couldnt join them? Would you really be as active and supportive in your new team?

We're going with the policy that it's okay if a player reaches B- during the season. We have 2 rounds during CRTL, 1st round with 5 weeks, and 2nd round with 5 weeks, and we'll be re-evaluating the players after the 1st round.

We're going with the policy that it's okay if a player reaches B- during the season. We have 2 rounds during CRTL, 1st round with 5 weeks, and 2nd round with 5 weeks, and we'll be re-evaluating the players after the 1st round.
Deathheaven does not have a TL account, I believe.
He also won't be able to come online for at least 1 or 2 more weeks.

With 6 teams, there's going to be 10 total weeks of play. The season will be divided up into 2 rounds, 1st round with 5 weeks, and 2nd round with 5 weeks.

2nd round

If you hit B- or higher after signup or during the season it's okay. You just won't be allowed to participate in future c rank leagues.

By "Colosseum", I'm assuming that you mean "Colosseum II" ?

You could ask for postponements every time you have to play, it's awkward but doable.

Technically, not postponements if they're scheduled earlier. You CAN always contact your opponents and see if they're willing to play on Saturdays instead.
Truth be told, I'd rather go with Saturdays, but people voted for Sundays, probably to avoid conflicts with having to play and watching TLS.
