The first installment of the ThSL is about to wrap up! What started as a small community tournament has turned into one of the most fun leagues our community has seen in a while!
Tune in on Saturday, Oct 20 11:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) to see the thrilling conclusion between Liquid`Drone and Chill!
But that's not all...
Once the dust has settled and a winner of the ThSL is crowned, the winner will play Liquid`Sea!
Kiante, SirJolt and Manifesto7 will be casting!
Decals have never been this coveted. Blood will flow, tears will be shed.
Tune in! Don't miss it! And thanks for following the tourney.
Grand Finals & 3rd Place Match Saturday, Oct 20 11:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
Liquid`Sea Showmatch! Sunday, Oct 21 2:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
So the real ThSL winner will be Sea then ^^. Even if he's stopped playing BW fro months now he should absolutely steamroll the winner but it's going to be fun anyway. Maybe we'll see nukes ?

"Oh don't bother seeing it" "It was on Monty Hall"
That doesn't add up sir. I want to see anything on Monty Hall. I'll watch Critter vs Critter.
I hope Sea either really has fun and messes around playing random OR he goes super super tryhard mode and just crushes. Either would be immensely enjoyable.
I just noticed that races were eliminated at each stage. Pure Zerg players dropped at Ro16, then pure Terran players at quarter finals, and finally Protoss at the semis lol
Drone has only dropped one game (against Kiante) this entire tournament out of the 14 he's played. Chill has lost two out of the 15 games he has played. So basically these two ploughed through their competition to reach the finals, very impressive. Could go either way
After some hilarious technical difficulties, we're up! Dig in, enjoy the baritone that is Mani, the rage that is Kiante, and the sweet Irish brogue that is SirJolt
you guys ruined everything, now we can't have a sea fpvod from his stream. That being said this should be good. Edit : Did the sarcasm not show? if so sorry.

Chill vs Drone is a bo7!!
You guys are doing fine. The stream difficulties were unpleasant, but unavoidable in the situation.
Chill has impressed me with this tournament run. To tell you the truth, I always considered him a provincial WCG player, but he's showing he's got game!
The day be4 yesterday, i watched Sea's streaming in en.twitch.tv/LiquidSea tvp nuke rush, it's really awesome for that toss player. and so on... after two or three games , he phoned PuSan to play. But it's too late for me to watch that, what a pity.
Chill way behind, main barely mining spire goes down to scarabs hydras and lings die in main more drones dead tech probably going down Chill loses hydra range upgrade Drone getting fleet beacon lol
Two Reavers, Five Sairs, and Chill's main is effectively sieged. Powerful units and synergy: the essence of BW.
Edit: Also, notice that Eri took Chill's fourth, led Chill's Scourge there, and DARED Chill to attack. Imagine Protoss taking Zerg's fourth in SC2. LAUGHABLE
There's always a time in Reaver Sair play when P's macro slips. I've never even seen a Korean avoid it. Toss should throw down 10 gates and pump speed Zeal.
Also, at this point Zerg has to scouting bases. If a Z doesn't do that against a Reaver Sair player, they simply build 15 Cannons at each base. You have to prevent the Toss from settling in. They're desperate for mineral sinks so they can keep their money low and look Gosu.
I remember some Protoss players used to build five or so Corsairs late game and kill tens of Overlords, sending Zerg so deep into the red they couldn't build Units for minutes. It was a really interesting strategy.
Drone's drops have been so effective. When you play SC2 you forgot just how far behind pulling Probes can get you. Getting the right number of peons on minerals, getting every worker back to work, it's just such a mess.
Another tank drop probes sent away drone pushing with mines, tanks following ohhhh the nat might fall here mines plus ledge protecting tanks lots of goons come in all but 2 die, push dead
Drone FINALLY getting +1 but game is getting out of hand Chill taking a 4th, Drone still on 2 bases another unsuccessful tank drop Drone trying to take a third vultures harassing again, more annoying than effective
stream down for about 7 seconds, nothing looks too different...
Drone with a big 'ole tank vult push here Chill with no army! units rallying to their doom? Chill taking another base, but the inside 5oclock will surely fall tons of tanks, not many vults Chill just massing in his main, buying time
However, Drone only mining from one base some goliaths in the mix to deal with shuttle Drone losing his building 4th Drone countering and sieging into Chill's main! Both armories fall Drone has nothing to deal with the attack though! Drone's push reduced to 6 tanks and some turrets But vultures are killing every probe at 6oclock! Chill might lose!
Chill's attacking army was killed, Drone's main is safe Chill cannot say the same, he's forced to build gateways in the middle of nowhere his 4th is falling to vultures his 3oclock is about to die to some siege tanks Holy crap
Ultimately, the harass was simply too effective. When Terran's supply is > than or = to P, something has probably gone wrong. And in this case the drops, the little pushes, and a couple of sloppy mine clear outs cost Chill the game. He played the game correctly, expanding aggressively and countered effectively, he was just too far behind.
The Zealot rush is successful. I'm going to go ahead and say that validates my refusal to ever adapt to the PvZ meta game. Gas is for people who can't press Z.
5 lings kill 1 scv, Sea didn't even flinch on that runby Drone getting ling speed and lair (2 hatch) Sea sees all, ohhhhhh actually, Drone getting hydra den for 2 hatch lurker
lurkers used defensively actually tries to trap infantry with lurks and lings, only gets 1 rine tries to cut off reinforcements, meets rines tries to reenforce lurker push, meets firebats Sea stims and kills the forward lurkers Siege researching dropship building oh dear
mines out on the field Lair in progress +1 for mech coming ohhh but Sea pumping goliaths from (soon to be) 5 factories once that +1 finishes I foresee a push of the doom variety
Here's what went down for people who missed my explanation:
I'm house sitting for my parents, who have shit upload, however i'm there for so long i moved my main PC up. Knowing i had to cast THSL i turned on xsplit and BW to see if it ran ok at my parents house and it seemed fine, so i planned to bring my laptop down here, plug in an extra monitor and stream from here (my house) where i have decent internet capable of streaming.
Unfortunately due to what i believe to be overheating issues, the stream dropped reguarly, lagged etc and getting someone else to cast with all the overlays and videos and shit wasn't really all that practical.
Thanks everyone for sticking it out, even with all the fuck ups i hope it was worth staying up for.
Thanks everyone for tuning in, supporting, etc. etc. I'll make a blog post about it at some point, as well, but just wanted to say it super quick :D
The tournament was a great success and we'll definitely see more BW in the future out of me. We'll probably stick to "community" tournaments where skill doesn't really matter and it's just to have some fun. I never expected the ThSL to grow as much as it did -- I mean the reason it was called the Torenhire Starleague was to troll and make it called the "TSL" and I ended up feeling so full of myself every time the tournament was broadcast hahaha.
Thanks again to everyone involved!! Congrats to the winner!! :D

You are one bad, bad person!
Don't you love your parents? ... Allowing them to have horrible internet what a travesty!
The calendar said this was on the 22nd 21st when I checked ages ago so on Saturday night/Sunday morning, I was looking at what time I had to tune in for and was so so soooo sad to see that the event was finished I think I need to suggest that TL Staff give you the option of having the Calendar in your timezone seeing as the majority of us don't live in Korea? And if you want to tune in for Korean league events, it would be easier seeing the appropriately converted time? /rant
Watched the event the next day on Kiante/Manifesto/Torenhire streams and it was soo good! Just wish SirJolt didn't dc because his interaction with Kiante is always so good. Looking forward to the next Torenhire League!
Thanks Torenhire, Kiante, Sirjolt, HawaiinPig, the participants (congrats Drone!) and everyone else!!! Thanks for keeping BW alive on TL!!!!!
The "upcoming events" list shows the ETA of events. As for the calendar list itself, assuming you're logged in, it does show the time of the event in your timezone:
The calendar physically places the event on Sunday the 21st when it was aired on Saturday the 20th for viewers in North America. Kiante also said it would be on the Sunday (I guess for viewers not in NA), so I committed that to memory. I made the mistake of not verifying the actual timing on the event list for the calendar date...

Oh no worries, it was really my fault anyway. Next time I have to make extra certain I know the timing for such an awesome event
really cool event, huge congrats to all organizers. And i especially loooved the showmatch vs Sea :D I think it's awesome he still cares for the community and does some games/showmatches on occasion. @Sea: gogo win some balloons on Afreeca, i'd love to see that (;
