Did so well to steadily force Soulkey into a disadvantage and then kept attacking with smaller numbers + no infestors on a cross map rally when he could have just backed up and held his fourth.

hyvaa over extended his army and started getting worse trades + he tried to tech up and expand while soulkey was just building roaches giving soulkey the momentary army advantage.
Soulkey had more infestors too and the infestors paid off in the end with the amount of infested terrans spouted from soulkey.

His numbers weren't really smaller but the infestors were there, i don't know if he knew that there were so many burrowed o_O they made the difference in the end. infested terrans do a lot of dmg as well.

It is a mystery but it seems that it might be a combination of throwing small batches of units away instead of pulling back and consolidating and maybe also worse macro ? Its a pity these replays won't be released to analyze this.

I mean he kept rallying in constantly. So rather than collecting up units for a big heavy blow he kept rallying in smaller groups to join and every time he engaged units were attacking but also walking across the map. Soulkey with the much shorter rally distance could just rally and engage instantly.
Then once infestors regained energy it was game over.

True, i guess he felt the need to kill him... if he waited a bit longer he could not have killed him either. Best bet might have been to play defensive and try to keep the better economy (he had one more base in the end).
Hyvaa was expanding - and still not getting the kicking advantage from expanding - while Soulkey gave up on 4th base and just went full aggression, constantly reproducing lost units. SK also had more infestors and kept using infested terrans. Also, depending on micro and composition, sometimes hydra-roach ends up worse than pure roach, cuz hydras are made of paper. Hyvaa was better with hydras when attacking, but SK held and then on the defense these hydras were just walking dead.

Yeah, I think he should have made a replacement round of infestors and backed up to try hold the centre watchtower while he secured his fourth. Then use his economy from that to start teching some more.
Match replay now so maybe can get a better look at it.
I think they still have a theoretical chance for playoffs thus for final. If I am correct playoffs will start when all teams played 21 games and now they are 16-17.

The most wins that KT could possibly get is 11, and the top 4 now have at least 10. KT could still make it in if SKT, Samsung and STX somehow decided to roll over and die to the other 5. It's all cool for me though as long as T8 wins this season. They should.
Soulkey choked pretty bad. He should have put the nydus next to the spines and brought all his ueens and hydras. Spines out-range cannons so it was only a matter of time

Both have 7 range, actually. Trap's reaction was just perfect and Soulkey had no transition. We actually saw CreatorPrime (P) lose against Curious (Z) by this build in GSL up & down matches recently, so it's definitely possible at pro level.

Oh yeah... well. I still think Soulkey could have won that game. Stargate is the standard response to what SK did, and you can tell he predicted it because he made a hydra den before he saw the void ray... hmm I'm not sure, I definitely think SK could have won that game though.
Love your casting btw!!! Especially with super for translations.
