He did not see that many lings earlier, he saw around 6-7, and also it's common that zergs move their lings around to flank the terran, leaving 1 ling on the ramp is common to spot the terran's move out timing too. | ||

The bold part is a bit off. He specifically said he was confused by the lack of many zerglings that Shine had so he felt fishy which prompted the scan. | ||

Yes, sometimes pros leave one ling in front of a natural to get the time when bio goes out, BUT they are left in a position to actually attack back and not in hold position. Also, Shine didn't bait his mutas (they went too far south) properly and thus Flash's moving out was around a few cells lower than Shine wanted, and thus Flash had to scan to get a glimpse of the mutas, revealing the burrowed lings. | ||
