Look, let's not kid ourselves anymore. We both know what we want out of this relationship. We want to see Szikszai "Sziky" Miklós play against ex-progamer and Spirit Toss, Park "Pusan[S.G]" Ji Ho. Well, it's going to happen on May 28th at 14:00 CET. That's right, put it on your calendars and start stocking up on your out-of-control energy drinks to get ready the most awesome explosion of awesome all over the face of ESPORTS.
Players:
Pusan[S.G]
Pusan is a former progamer, and member of MBCGame (remember that?) and played everyone from BoxeR to Flash, including Firebathero, Backho, iloveoov, Tossgirl, sAviOr, Bisu, ForGG and many more. He's kind of good at this game.
Sziky
Sziky is the bonjwa of the foreign community and is a modern-day equivalent of Mondragon in terms of unbeatableness. Yeah, I said it. He came as a runner-up in the ISL, won ISL2, beat Scan in Defiler Tour #37, and is cruising through the ISL3 and making it look easy. There's literally nowhere to go in the foreign scene if you're #1, so it's time to start taking out Korean progamers.
Sziky vs Pusan
Date/Time : May 28th / 14:00 CET Casting date : Hacklebeast will cast this Wednesday, 18:00 CET @ http://twitch.tv/hacklebeast. Casters : The wonderful Hacklebeast Maps : All Fighting Spirit, all day Server : Fish
Sponsored by: Reps)Defi Organization: Hyeon "dayfly" Cho Banner by: GeckoXp
No animals were harmed in the making of this showmatch.
Why this is awesome : -High level PvZ Bo7 -Elegant and Hacklebeast <3 -Szikyyyyyyyyyyyyy -We get to see Pusan play. Pusan is awesome, Pusan is sex, Pusan is brilliant, and we don't see him play enough. -I expect a 4-0 (Pusan is the better player by far), but I think Sziky can make on or two game look pretty close, which would be awesome. Now imagine if Sziky takes one game (even if it's Pusan fucking around a little), the explosion. -I hope this helps building a relationship between foreigners and streaming koreans. This is awesome. Can't thank you enough guys. Just awesome, I'm speechless. Crazy. Wow. PS : kawairiice posting in this thread makes it even better.

Well, i was trying to contact Doctor.K to organize Grudge match between Sziky and Doctor.K but i couldn't. If i get a chance to organize, i definetely will do.

Pusan is a protoss. Sziky is a zerg. thats something to think about.
Pusan is a ex pro gamer and previously mbc coach .... I would give some credit to pusan shooting his possibility of a clean sweep against sziky . So with that being said ..... I have to go with Pusan fighting !

Yes, 9pm is game time. Pusan is going to stream on his own afreeca channel live (i don't know whether kjcwj would stream) Hacklebeast and Elegant are going to cast replay next weekend(I don't want it to be casted weekdays :p). That's why i ask you guys even if you know the result from Pusan's stream don't be a spoiler.

Hacklebeast and Elegant will cast replays this weekend. Not sure about the time, will announce you as soon as possible.
I hope kjcwj and bgvrt don't restream Pusan's...
Agreed. But even if people do see what happens in advance, please keep it spoiler-free!!!
Yeah well I said that because he asked for a stream of the live event itself. Even if I watch a restream, I'll be sure to catch Elegant and Hacklebeast's cast. And no spoiler in this thread, even in spoiler tag.
lol, i clicked on corum's link at the top here and i can get to the stream, the "/" at the end of the link avoids the password protecting or idk.... but still buffering so i think protecting still works....
That's so silly, why is the stream password protected in the first place? bgvrt told me on stream chat it was at the organizer's request.
If you're organizing an event, people don't care when are the games actually played if they cant watch it live. As such, that "May 28th / 14:00 CET" is an utterly useless piece of information for an ordinary viewer. What the OP should contain as a date is the time of the actually available stream, with or without casting.
This is a very basic accessibility problem, and you're shooting yourself in the foot with it. Please treat the fans nicer, you're supposed to be doing this for them.

I think it's just a problem of being too nice and transparent.
I agree with 538. The organisers screwed this one up.
I was as pumped about this as everyone else. But you don't go advertising something as happening at 14:00 CET, then kick people off the stream and tell them to wait for a week. You should either advertise the time when it's broadcast, or let people watch it live. I could've kept my mouth shut about the score, and would've tried to watch the English cast as well, but that will be at a horrible time for me, whereas this would have been convenient (I'm near the KST zone).
Hmm... just a communication problem. Next time just pls make the OP clearer by saying that the games will not be streamed live. The way the OP is set up (eg. "Date/Time : May 28th / 14:00 CET"), it makes it seem as though there might be a live, non-casted stream. Thanks

My request? What? Really? I never asked bgvrt / pusan to put password on stream. I even don't know who bgvrt, just saw him restreams some afreeca channels. Also, i was watching Pusan's stream and observing. But there was no password, then how could i watch it? Because i'm korean? Don't get me wrong.
Also, reason why i asked Hacklebeast and EleGant to do this on Weekends is because of Defi. Defi's on holiday now, don't want to do that without him(it's defi who sponsored). I already annouced on OP that it will be casted later today...
Seriously, if you are a friend of bgvrt tell him to say truth, not trying to make dramas.
I'll ask Sayle to do this or when he replies or Hacklebeast/EleGant when they answer.

Defi's the sponsor, don't want to do this without him literally. OP says "Casting date : To be determined; later that day, most likely.", my mistake that ask ninazerg to write that sentence.
And yes, i have the replays already messaged sayle/elegant/hacklebeast. But seems Sayle's ignoring me hackle sleeping, elegant offline.

I'm sure you, defi, the casters, and everyone else included in making this event happen want as many people to watch this as possible. For that goal, providing the fans easy access to it is just as important as making the showmatch happen.
What you should be doing:
- Agree with the casters on a casting date beforehand! (It looks like this didn't happen)
- Make that date publicly available, and advertise well in advance so people can prepare!
- Make it clear if there's going to be a live stream or not! If there is no live cast, then people don't care about when the games are played. The fact that you told us when are the games played made people expect a livestream of some sorts, that's why we went to bgvrt, because that was the only stream we were told about by anyone! It was your shortcomings that enabled any misunderstanding to happen in the first place! (Were you watching Pusan on afreeca? In that case the answer to your question is yes, only Koreans can watch streams there. If it wasn't on afreeca, then the question is once again - why didn't you tell everyone about that stream?)
The fact that some restream was password protected is just a small problem here. The bigger problem is that you're not providing an easy way for people to follow this event. Agree beforehand with the casters about the cast date, and advertise that date well in advance (try to add it to the BW calendar if you're serious about it), and link a stream in the original post when it is live.
In my eyes, that is the most senseful and beneficial way to organize this, anything less doesn't do justice to the epicness of such a showmatch!
I truly appreciate your efforts, I'm just trying to help with my suggestions!

I really don't understand how people are angry about this 0.o A slight communication problem, and it will be shown in a few days. Everyone involved is doing their best and as for casting times, I'm often very busy during the week as I'm sure many of you are. Time zone differences can really compound that problem.
Just chill- a few extra days to watch an awesome event, which is organised entirely for you, for free, and for the love of BW, is really neither here nor there. It's just mad to get cross about it.

First of all, thank you for your suggestions. I should organize clearly next time, dunno if Defi's going to ask me more.
Secondly, i didn't watch Pusan's stream for fun but to know what he says about sziky and how many koreans watch Pusan's stream. I could have just observer and watch replays after the showmatches if for fun. Actually, ninazerg put this(date of the cast) + Show Spoiler +
To be determined; later that day, most likely
, i should have told her that it will be casted this weekend. I think she mentioned "later that day" because last time, Draw casted after ICC-CL which is 2hrs after the showmatch between Sziky and Han. And all i said was "hope bgvrt or kjcwj don't stream" and said "Anyhow you know the results, please don't be a spoiler". I didn't push anyone not to stream Pusan's.
Anyway, My bad i wasn't clear to ninazerg about the casting dates.
But what i feel bad is, you REALLY heard bgvrt saying "Organizer asked me to stop streaming or put password"? Seriously? He really told you what you just wrote? If not, at least you should say sorry or make an appology.
EDIT I asked Hacklebeast and EleGant to cast it on this weekend(June 2nd or 3rd) because of timezone and considering their own schedules.

My memory is faded by now, but I wrote that post immediately after having the conversation with him, so I don't think I misremembered what he said. (I asked in the chat "why is the stream password-protected in the first place?") As gutshot added/corrected me earlier:

I also recall him adding it was to avoid spoilers, but all in all, he still clearly gave me the impression that it wasnt his idea but he was asked to do so.
With all that said, it's not impossible that there has been a misunderstanding between us, I do apologize if that's the case.

I don't think you can really fault yourself for not knowing the casting date because the match was so last-minute (That's the way BroodWar stuff should be done!) but now you have a date and time, so everything is going to be okay.
I'm probably wrong, but wasn't he like 2nd or 3rd tier foreigner back when SC2 wasn't out and everyone good switched? Like B+ rank on ICC or something?

(I stopped following foreign bw then)
He made it 8th in TSL2 ladder (A rank but I guess he dodged koreans), he was elminated 2-3 by Tarson. Not that bad. Edit : nowadays he's by far the best foreigner and he has gotten very good rating on Fish.

But that was back then, I have no idea how much he has progressed. I still think if Pusan isn't totally inactive, he should crush.
Some of this are really arguable (like mOrrow, never was a fan of anything but his TvZ). But you saying he was B+ is a bit of a joke. He was also pretty late to come in the scene (not as late as kolll, but still). I also remember this idra interview were they asked him what he thought of all the groups, and he wasn't sold but not really negative. And yes he has improved. As for Pusan he streams a lot, but he's not a progammer anymore. He's the obvious favorite, but I still think this is worth watching =)

I can't say certainly of course, and my memory is mixed with these players now playing SC2, so people like Morrow and Mana might have not been as good as I now think they were.
But anyways, I'll try to watch too; I was just surprised that people were excited as if this was an even match. If sziky takes a game of Pusan, it'll be good in my eyes.

I don't think anyone thinks of this as an even match. Hey, even if it was Ret in his prime, I'd say Pusan is favorite for sure. Still, people have a lot of faith in Sziky's ability to show good games, to revive the WCG spirit and to show that foreign bw is still solid. Foreigner vs Korean is very rare this days. Edit : Plus Pusan is a big name that we can't see play anymore. For instance I expect Plexa to tune in and I doubt he has watched any foreign bw since SC2 came out.

Yeah, very hard to draw a line between foreign legends and up and coming players like Sziky in hindsight. He wasn't bad at all, I certainly wouldn't call him 2nd Tier
I'm actually happy about the fact that a name like Pusan accepted a show match against a foreigner. That alone is reason enough to tune in. I have good faith that Sziky did his best to show how good he is, even when he's the clear underdog here.
Kind of a bummer that they're only playing FS, however it's SZIKY PLAYING MOTHERFUCKING PUSAN -- aka my childhood hero who made me play toss back when I was like 12... This shit is seriously unreal
Currently best suggestions are go ask Pusan on Fish for the replays and have Elegant cast on Zaraki's stream. Epic chat at least. Edit : COMPUTER SEEMS TO BE WORKING o_O
That was a pretty entertaining game rofl. Pusan's macro wasn't the best, but his micro was pretty sick. Good choice against Sziky too, not sure he really ever played against that A pity, needed better scouting !
Damn, Pusan busts out with a timing just before crack finished and rolls Sziky over. Losing the mutas did not help, apparently. Still, not bad show from Sziky, while Pusan might be a little overconfident (center expo, really?).

Sziky 9pools, but Pusan blocks with probes and only a single szikyling makes it into the main. Pusan with the massive scarabs on the drones, but all sairs are gone.
Pusan moves out and simultaneosly drop reaver in the nat and main, 19 kills on the reaver. Sziky doesn't love his drones D:
Sziky made me proud, especially that 5th game =) Pusan played very entertaining games. Thanks a lot for this showmatch, was great despite the difficulties !
Damage to his economy was too big for Sziky to overcome and Sziky concedes g6. He was outmultitasked quite hard here, unlike previous games.
Pusan takes it 4-2, but g2 should have been for Sziky, so we can assume the series would go down the line to set 7 :D I'd say it's pretty amazing result, so grats to Sziky for, hehe, his Fighting Spirit against the Spirit Toss.
I was really rooting for Sziky. Also, I think he should have won game 2 for sure. He shouldn't even have lost his main, as he had enough time to make another Defiler before the Carriers arrived there, and even after losing it, it should've still been enough to hold off Pusan's forces if he'd just rebuilt the Defiler Mound at the bottom left base.
At any rate, good games all around. I hope Pusan gained a bit of respect for the non-Korean players, since he obviously wasn't taking Sziky seriously in the first game...

Glad you all enjoyed it, and sorry about technical difficulties. Turns out that heatsinks need to be clamped onto the motherboard, and not just lying on the bottom of the case -_-.
Sziky... y u no attack Pusan's expo in last game. -____- It was lacking any cannons, you could have pwned all probes there. Why you flew away with mutas... Sad. ( Well played nonetheless.
I didn't get to watch this, but I'm really impressed by Sziky nonetheless. Pusan was on a progaming team like a year ago (can't remember exactly when he retired), so taking games off of him is awesome.
Asking for replays 5 different times isn't going to make them come up any faster. If they are going to be released, then they will, and if they won't they wont.

Dude that was awesome! Don't listen to people who disagree with your choice in music or the flashy intros' in your highlight vids, it all just adds up to being the most hyped shit since Die Hard 2.
I giggled at "WarCraft in space", and looooong before the full 5 minutes had passed I was sporting a mad broner. I really hope you'll be making more of these in the future Keep it up!
I wanted to hype it up a bit because this has been the most I've been excited about BW lately. I enjoyed this showmatch much more than the current SPL/OSL due to the transition and the issues it's been causing to the players. So while the space cinematics might seem exaggerated and a bit out of place, they actually express my enthusiasm quite appropriately

Yes, I did Yes, I did...........Pusan was toying with this guy all games before 6th match, he did let his guard down a couple of times though..........if he would've went standard everytime I think he would've won super easy. His sairs and shuttle itself was too much for the foreign player.............

Well, he was "toying" at the first game, he even didn't know Sziky's race at first one minute. But he found out Sziky is Hungarian Jaedong and tried his best. He usually talks a lot while he streams but he rarely did rest of the games.
I kinda enjoyed he been freaking sziky's skill while he streams.
I'm a bit disappointed, because Sziky made several big mistakes. Apart from this, I really enjoyed the show - thanks go to players, streamers and orgas as well. Pushan showed genious unit control and tactical talent, meanwhile we got fun games! And it looks like Sziky is a rugged diamond. I hope, this is just the beginning
More Sziky vs. Koreans or top non-Koreans vs. Koreans please!
