Or the parallel story from the PLUS team with Anytime, and their rise to the top only two years after being the worst team out there by far.
Then there are teams that steal. Like when KT snatched Flash when WeMade Fox was under financial stress. Especially so with SK Telecom T1 with the likes of Midas, and Bisu. Their success and victories are less meaningful because their stories can be summarized with "So we bought these guys, and some faltered because their drive was no longer there because of the high salaries, but it's okay because we also got some other guys and it worked out great for us."
SK Telecom T1 and KT are boring because they are the epitome of the financially stable teams. There are no odds stacked against them. There are no miracles. There's no uncertainty for the bigger teams, and while that may make things easier to support them, just know you're supporting the most boring teams also. A bigger trophy cabinet and fan base doesn't always mean a richer history.
Very well, you described my thoughts

It's pretty amazing that you guys live in a world where corporations that are willing to invest so heavily in Brood War are a bad thing. I mean just look at that heartless SK Telecom, stepping up to sponsor Proleague when nobody else would. What bastards!

Yeah.. KT really "snatched" Flash from WeMade... the fact that you are trying to give that a negative connotation makes me question the overall message you are trying to convey. Flash was a nobody when he transferred to KT and built his entire legacy within the team. His entire game history from his starts in PL, to the GSI, to the OSL, his slump in PL and individual leagues, to his initial god mode, etc were all with KT.
Flash is as much KT as Xellos was/still is CJ.

Eh, I was kind of disappointed that Khan couldn't take it to ace, but given KT's performance earlier in the match, this result didn't come as a surprise to me. I feel like if SKT wants to win this year, they need to really prepare more than they did the previous 2 years, especially considering how boosted KT's lineup has become.

I just had a question for people who know more about broodwar, I try to watch it as regularly as possible but I've never knew why at the start of the game sometimes the observer allies one player, why is that?

From what I have noticed, he usually allies one player only when its a mirror matchup, this way, the "yellow"/ friendly units are from one player and the "red" hostile units are from the other player. When he initially allies, you can see who he allies with, so you can know which player is which.. Its usually just to differenciate between players i think. Correct me if i am wrong though

Ok that makes sense, does it change the colors for the spectators as well? I was watching the vods and stork vs stats he does the ally but I don't notice anything

I did this poll last season...thread was eventually done by lightwip. Kiett can't do it, don't vote for kiett(btw I voted for kiett)
Whoever will do it please do it properly. I didn't have a chance to watch playoffs live and for me the threads for KT vs CJ days 1 and 2 were incredible bad. There were no individual spoilers for each game in lineups and results and no missing fake pools for unplayed ace match.

There is a poll in the Day 2 thread but it is not getting the attention it deserves, and it seems void because Kiett and flamewheel are unavailable. Since this event and thread is important, I would like to simplify this with the poll below. Please vote for your choice.
Poll: Who should make the SPL Finals (SKT vs KT) LR Thread?Hyde (67) 86% Blind-Rawr (11) 14% 78 total votes Your vote: Who should make the SPL Finals (SKT vs KT) LR Thread? (Vote): Hyde (Vote): Blind-Rawr

I think almost everyone agrees that LR makers should consider the other members as well. It's not about their preference whether they want full results immediately or not, but on whether there are people who want to not be spoilered and want the result one match each, like to simulate the thrill when you have not seen it live. And there are people like this. If you can't put two separate spoiler sections (full and individual games), at least have one spoilered.

Bisu has a good chance of a PvZ which he'd be a favorite in, or at worst a PvP which is a tossup. I don't think SKT will field a zerg there since soO doesn't really stand a better chance vs CH/Stats than Bisu.
nice
it's too bad KT doesn't have one of the top-tier Zergs, I'd love to see Bisu in an epic PvZ

Who was that woman in the crowd whom they showed in almost every game?

Perfectman, Wooki, the three starleague champions Mind, Luxury and forGG, and.... even Flash (he is, of course, more of a KT player than a Wemade player, but still...). I'm saying though you complained about CH and Action getting two of the wins but are fine with Shine and Grape getting two of the wins for Khan on the first day

Flash while he was on WeMade was a B-teamer, he didn't even play any televised matches and all B-teamers traditionally recieved next to no salary. And you would be lying to yourself if you think that Flash's BW carreer wasn't homegrown by KT. If we tried to track down B-teamer trades between teams who later became significant players we would be here all day.
CJ Entus as it is now is a merger of CJ Entus and Hite Sparkyz, Sparkyz was forced to disband or merge due to the match fixing scandal and its players would have had no where to go - much like mind and perfectman. And look at how much of an essential role Leta and Horang2 play on CJ entus now. Like alot of people already stated, players changing teams happens all the times in professional sports, Light going to stars, Bisu going to SKT, these were all huge changes to the team power dynamics.
Speaking about corporate success and backing, companies like Samsung are even more prevelant and financially stable than KT (their revenue was >10x of KT and >15x of SKT in 2010). There isn't a need to paint KT and SKT as evil entities hiring mercinaries, did you read perfectman's interview when he was finally picked up by KT after being team-less? You can always look in hindsight and say that SKT and KT are boring because they are expected to do well, but that's all a part of history. If you had looked at KT pre 2010 you would have seen a long time contributor to BW that has never won a team league. SKT's success was as home grown as you get with Boxer founding Orion after Ideal Space's collapse, and it subsequently declined in 2005 with boxer leaving for the army. The people who carried KT to their gold in 2010 and now are hardly mercenaries, and you can't possibly think that Boxer's SKT wasn't a homegrown superstar team.

maybe 2012 the "mercenaries" (c-h and action?) deliver, but till now always "homegrown kt" was most clutch.

Hey guys its the holidays so im sorta getting back into the proleague scene. I've watched the last few Bo7 games on youtube, but failing to find how they all fit together. Are we in a knockout stage or is it still league stage? And which teams are still in contention?
