People are drawn to extremes and standouts. A single dominant player has done nothing but help broodwar popularity in the past. The decline of broodwar is directly coorelated to one of them betraying everyone. It is disgusting that you would blame Flash for the hard times that are befalling the sport.

You know why people were so happy Jangbi won?

Because he beat Flash.

Without Flash, the dominant uberplayer, there is no drama to his loss and Jangbi's victory. This is how it worked with every bonjwa in the past being upset and dethroned.

Nope, I'm saying Flash is another in a long line of dominant players who help the sport grow by creating drama when he loses. Federer to Nadal, if you will. Broodwar is obviously fine without a single bonjwa, as there wasn't one for like 3 years after savior's loss and Flash's rise. But I do think there was an obvious coorelation between bonjwas dominating and being dethroned and the game's popularity curve.
