If not for a stupid language test at 4:00 that day, I would be running to the studio to see it in person. Instead I'll sit in class in the fetal position crying, knowing I'll have to wait for VODs to be posted later. ACE fighting!!11

haha exactly my thoughts too, both very likeable teams now battling it out. Go Team 8 because I love JD. I'm thinking Team 8 should take this 3-1, but I wouldn't mind seeing this go the full five games (with team 8 winning of course, they need to keep winning to get that corporate backing).

Anything but JD vs FBH will be such a huge disappointment! Battlecrusers vs Hatcheries in FBH`s natural! ggogogo P.S. Oh dear I forgot about Jaehoon...But no,I don`t think they can produce anything like THAT GAME again.

tbh all I want is another FBH vs Jaehoon.
Yeah everyone has different LR thread layouts, we're all different :D
I agree with Blind-Rawr though, don't click on results if you don't want to know. The only place to not spoil "results" is in Winner's League lineups, tbh.
Can't fucking wait for it, i don't expect ACE to take it home but they should be able to put up a good fight, provided line-ups draw goes well for them, heh.

I just think it'll be 3-2. Not 100% sure who will win. Team 8 is deep but ACE is tricky this year so it's a toss up in my opinion. Though I would like ACE to win and have FBH and Sea win. Probably can't watch this live since I have 2 finals the next day. ;______; But I'm sure it'll be a good series, at least I hope no 3-0 action going down.
Holy snap. I was so scared I would miss this today. I'm going to do my damnedest to make it home in time for PL this week.
These teams fill the same role for me. They're both basically pantheons of legendary players. I'd like to root for ACE because they're looking so much better than they ever have (that I remember at least), and they're home to Kal, who is one of my favorite players ever. I'd like to root for Team 8 because they represent survival and development for BW, they host JD, Sea and a crowd of folks I wholeheartedly dig, and success for them means increased chances for a fat sponsor. I'll see tomorrow which team I end up pulling for. It's got loads of potential though, and I am anticipating a stellar match.

I didn't see any news about it, but they switched back to something more akin to their old schedule. I just assumed there weren't games last weekend because of that.
I wouldn't be so sure about ACE getting crushed. On one hand, they could be any team and it wouldn't be so simple because of Team 8. They haven't played enough to give anyone a reliable impression. On the other hand, ACE was showing unprecedented murmurings of success last year. Their lineup is sound, with a lot of players that weren't necessarily performing when they went in, but not players who were truly past their prime like it has been since I could remember. Even players who are slumping aren't in slumps like we've seen end careers. (In any case, Mustaju predicted 3-2 for the Dream Team. Take that as you will)
Speaking of Kal, I have to assume he's still going through training. It hasn't been that long really. I just have this image that one gets a heavy dose of training and cultural orientation when joining the military.
Strange, that from a spectator of a game I developed into a fan of all teams (well, except for one ), so I don't want anyone to lose. At least, I hope Jaehoon won't lose again. Please give me advice who to root for.

Root for Team 8. If ACE were playing any other team besides them I would say root for ACE, but Team 8's success is very important to getting a sponsor, and getting a sponsor is very important for BW in general.

@thopol Team 8 is not so reliable now, I agree with that. I only look at their squad and think how they can lose with such strong members. I hope they win because I have Sea in my FPL team :D Are you from Japan? I am living in Japan too and have never seen anyone playing BW in my school. Also, your English is too good which are different with my Japanese friends here :D

Thank you, guys. Those are precisely both pro and cons I considered This match is going to be tough!
Argh, on one hand I want to see an epic series and I love ACE, but on the other hand I want Team 8 to crush them so they look strong and have a better chance of getting a sponsor. What to do, what to do.

Well the best scenerio is a 3-2 victory for Team 8, Ace still looking strong and Team 8 getting a sponsor. YAy!
Don't know who to root for. Generally auto-root Ace as long as they're not playing my team. But Team 8's a special case. Not likely to matter since I think Ace has no chance against Team 8.
My hope for the day: FBH and Jaedong play on Set 5. And Battlecrusier should be reporting.
I'm more interested in how the players from both teams are going to be sent out, actually. It's hard even imagining really bad matchup scenarios for Team 8 since they have BaBy and Jaedong.

Tyson! His first game this sesason
Actually I shouldn't say "for once" - he does his fair share as well. One of these days I'll get off my arse and make one myself...assuming I can get in quick enough lol.
Tyson is a solid up and coming Protoss. Took a game from Flash last season. Though his record was 1-9 at the end. T8 coach looking ... dapper. Let's see FBH's vP

I feel for ya man. The only positive is that the VODs will likely be up before the end of the set anyway - the uploaders are insanely fast atm.
More goons being rallied towards FBH's base. Tyson making a 3rd base now. Goons move into the main and start attacking the tanks, scvs are pulled once more.
More goons arriving at the main now. This looks well over. scvs defending but they're dying very quickly
That was such a late SCV scout. If he sent one sooner, he would've been able to know that something is up based on the pylon count in the main, and the lack of an expo or a second gateway. Nice to see greedy terrans get punished appropriately. Tyson fighting!
I gotta say though...FBH's defense was phenomenal given the circumstances. He obviously never had a chance but those SCV blocks were still pretty incredible.
So, was there every a proper pronunciation of "m18m"? I've been going with "Melatem" (long a). Going against Jaedong, though, "smashed" might be appropriate

Might've been looking for a Terran.
Seeing how many Terrans have played here... Not a good choice either. Might be ACE coach giving out a sacrificial lamb :S
m18m harassing the gas line. JD takes 3rd; gate and nex finish for m18m, and he takes his gas. a pair lings are out to deal with the offending probe, but he flees for dear life.
Lair begins. JD droning hard off 6 lings; first and second zealot block the choke. m18m starts stargate; JD starts spire.

There's a fair number of terrans on this map compared to other players. It doesnt look like a bad map for terran, at any rate.
5th hatchery added to the 3rd, DT is made, leaves the natural
Meanwhile M18M is preparing to take his 3rd. JD making a few Mutas
DTs approaching the natural, but an overlord spots him
JD has a 6th hatchery at his nat
Mutas flying around inside the main, they spot the reaver tech! Sairs engage with the mutas, scourge make contact but the sairs manage to fight them off
Meanwhile M18M is warping in some cannons at the 3rd, but mutas are taking them out.
Sairs trying to take down yet another overlord, scourge chasing them, a lot of scourge, sairs run to the safety of an archon.
Forge is spinning, hydras moving out to the middle of the map. M18M has a few zealots, 1 archon and a reaver.
Mutas lead the charge! They try to snipe the reaver but they fail! Hydra's now attacking the front of the natural. REaver gets off a few shots! M18M holds as a few hydras pop
3 cannons warping in (4). Reaver fires off more shots, gate goes down! reavers move in in an attempt to get the reaver but they fail!
jd broke the gate, and has a CRAPload of hydras... but the reaver menacingly waits. still a bunch of sairs left for m18m, and a second reaver pops. (where's the shuttle??)
JD with a huge conga line of hydras in the middle, lol. also, he has infolings!
4th going up for JD; doesn't seem like m18m's is up yet...
+1 air attack for m18m, +1 air armor for JD. +1?? ranged weapons for JD and +1 attack for m18m.
TEMPLARS SNIPED BY MUTAS AHHHHH
MUTAS VS ZEALOTS. MANY MANY MANY ZEALOTS. LOL REMINDS ME OF BACKHO VS JULY
While I can't say that was amazingly dominant or anything, I'm glad JD mixed his play up... Especially using mutas. While his initial muta harass was less than stellar, his latter muta's were better. Although his play was kind of forced to change thanks to the map, it shows the coaching staff is willing to force him out of his element.

Well, Ace beat KT earlier, so T8 should bring it hard. That game even went 3-2 so it's far from over, imo.
I just wish JD would go back to 9pool + ling runby in ZvP. This passive style seems to bore him...
The first muta attack might seem a little wasteful but I think it was necessary to attack before M18M's corsair count got to a critical mass. JD controlled the game from that point on.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't written Ace off at all, my comment was more to do with M18M's PvZ, rather than a dig at Ace.
I'm hoping for more than a quick 3-0 - it's been too long since our last BW fix to finish that quickly.

Haha, I love your attitude! Touche mate, touche. Time will tell whether you're right....
Good trade for killer on the lings there, ggaemo had waaay more initially. Although Killer lost 2 mutas to scourge. ggaemo kills an ovie with scourge :S
GGaemo loses all his mutas, but he's got a lot of ligns, last ditch attack? Lings enter into the natural, they engage with killers' lings. A few lings make it into killer's main but it's not a big problem for killer
If ggaemmo's control was better in the beginning and he had come out with even 3-4 more lings, this game might have gone the other way. Also, not ramming scourge into ovies -.-

He makes the Evo Chamber to block the Sunken from being able to be surrounded by the enemy's Zerglings. He keeps canceling it because ggaemo didn't attack for a long time. It's standard to block your Sunken with a building Evo because it's cheap and canceling it after the fight to save the money.
ACE should use great and Kal more. They both have experience of Starleague finals. And ggaemo, m18m, even if they're good in inteam tournaments, lose their confidence when on stage (especially Ggaemo).

team8 beating ace is nothing , until it win big names like CJ,SKT and woongjin probably that will catch the attention of big sponsors . I think the ACE coach should put them both on next match. =__=
Great and Kal are both in bootcamp right now I believe
I'm pretty sure Great played, so he's not in bootcamp, just Kal I think
Great has been play vs Flash when ACE win 3-2 vs KT and I think Kal in still in camp.

Bootcamp is just a place where you go to get military training, in this case Kal is still receiving his basic military training. He has to complete that before he can play I think

It's not a stupid question - it's a rare English expression. I'm not an expert on the military, but in this context I believe people are talking about a period of orientation, usually where those being orientated are under stricter living conditions/environment.

Killer being attacked! ggaemo making scourge! WOW THAT EGG PLACEMTN! blocks the lings from getting around on the sunken! killer loses all his lings though, ggaemo doesn't have that much but his mtuas are being chased by scourge!
scourge make contact, killer loses a few mutas.
Yeah that makes sense, I thought it was weird where he was placing it because I thought the entrance was from the top left and not the bottom, which is what got me confused. I need to familiarise myself with the map layouts better
Thanks so much! I unfortunately only caught JD vs. M18M so this is great. On the other hand, apparently all the games were awful but I like FBH and Killer enough to watch them play shitty games.

You talk like they already faced these teams, give them a chance and judge after. And like it or not they had to beat ACE every win will help them.

Most alternatives to Nada's Body thread contain way to much spyware. Your computer will thank you.
Nice win by Team 8, i would have expected something like 3-1 tho, ACE is still looking decent imo, those guys, i love them because they always put up a fight.

Lee Seung Won: I'm going to get a meal from him for every canceled building missed.
The regular observer is currently preparing for WCG.
The job of the observer is not an easy one for sure. I'll be checking the VOD sometime during lunch to see how well (or how bad) TheMarine did!

i assume most people just cheer for ace for the LOLs because they're terribad for the most part. i don't have strict allegiance to any team because i'm not a fanatic. i'm a fan of good brood war and i don't care where or who it comes from. i become devotees of players when they provide me good games.
who on ace consistently provides good games? FBH. sometimes Iris. (hopefully Kal.) that's it.
most of the time ace gets destroyed, which just means less BW and typically boring games.

I don't know how many games of theirs you have seen, but most of the series ACE lost last season weren't composed entirely of one-sided games. ACE players tend to be more aggressive than others and thus tend to produce entertaining games, even if they are usually sloppy.
.... But then game 1 was a gamble by protoss going dts, jaedong pretty much outplayed the toss. Was hoping they would repeat the opening game performance.

Watching VODs now. Sad FBH got cheesed; unfortunate ACE lost (and yes I root for the underdog). But my biggest take-away is that I'm getting really worried about Jaedong ZvP. Yeah, relative to expectations it seems like it's been his worst matchup for a while (always?). But that game vs M18M was painful.
BeSt vs Jaedong I don't feel like I watched objectively: I'm a huge fan of BeSt, and his strategy was a little unusual, so I've mentally classified that as "fluke win" no matter what I see.
But M18M has never been good and I don't expect much; he was floating 1000 min most of the game on two bases; he lost a ton of sairs early and did nothing with his DTs; but I feel like if he had magically managed to learn to micro his big attack he would have had a chance to win. Jaedong showed zero initiative, and a minimum of smart tactical play (mass scourge are the only notable thing): he'd have gotten destroyed by a player good enough/fast enough to macro or micro properly, let alone Bisu (or Movie or Snow or Stats) who can do both.
Maybe it was a simple case of playing down to the level of the opponent; I'm not saying there was ever a point where I thought M18M himself could win (see comments above), just that the game was close enough that if it had been paused and hypothetical-competent-player (Kal?) had stepped in, I would have been concerned about JD-playing-like-that possibly losing.
The bright side: Jaedong played contain-and-bust, and it worked eventually. He denied expansions and was never threatened, so I'm sure I have to be exaggerating the problems with his play... right? It's just that I haven't been this unconvinced by a win for a while.

i dunno, stx are pretty boring. with kal gone and calm playing pretty average, bogus is the only exciting person on the team at the moment. shuttle plays some good pvts and hyvaa plays some good zvps (which protoss and zergs cant though ) but apart from that i cant really think of anyone i want to watch. ill like fbh/ggaemo/iris/kal over that
