I believe the Top 8 get seeded into the Ro32's group selection/draft ceremony thing, after which it's ODT format until the Ro16 starts.

Oh man it's such a crazy experience to watch through an entire thing of these, before I'd done my first one I'd never HALF appreciated how intense and insanely compettitive Professional Brood War really is.

Please, it's not like she could even beat the rookie players. FYI in the OSL she went 1-2 against a player who reached the finals in their group. How many wins did the amateurs get? 0, and some of them played much worse players. I think it's not out of the question that she can beat the first zerg, but since he's unknown it's hard to tell how good he actually is. That she would beat Jangbi though, that will never happen. That player was Woon. So you just kind of proved my point... Woon is definately not a lower tier player. That's what I meant to point out. He also beat Snow, 2-1, so he can't be that bad.

Flash is seeded into the actual MSL, the first round of which is Ro32 double-elimination group stage like the MST. He's got the 1 seed (obviously) so he basically gets to pick his opponents from the MST winners.
The long version:
The MSL has three stages: prelims, MST, and actual MSL.
Prelims are in 24 groups. 1 player advances from each group. The MST is in 12 groups of 4, each with 2 prelim winners and 2 players seeded from the previous MSL, for a total of 48. 2 winners in each group advance to the MSL for a total of 24. The 24 losers are returned to prelims. The MSL starts in 8 groups of 4, each group with 3 of the 24 players from the MST and 1 of the top 8 from the previous MSL. For the next round, the 16 winners play against an opponent from a preset group. After this round, the 8 remaining players are seeded into the MSL, and the 24 players eliminated so far are returned to prelims.
In ASCII art chart format:
MSL losers (24) ___________MSL seeds (8) | | v v prelims (24) -> MST (48) -> MST winners (24) -> MSL (32) -> Ro16 -> Ro8 ^ | | | | | | (16)<losers>(8) | |_________MST losers (24) | | | _____________________________|__________| | | | v v MSL losers (24) MSL seeds (8)
Going into this season, the seeds are:
MST (ABCMart MSL 9-32): Protoss (8): Bisu, Dear, free[gm], Horang2, Kal, Snow, Stork, Tyson Terran (8) Classic, Fantasy, firebathero, Light, Really, Reality, RuBy, Sea Zerg (8) ggaemo, great, by.hero, Hyuk, HyuN, RorO, Shine, Neo.G_Soulkey
MSL (ABCMart MSL 1-8): Protoss (1): (8) Grape Terran (3): (1) Flash, (5) Leta, (7) Mind Zerg (4): (2) ZerO, (3) Hydra, (4) Jaedong, (6) Calm

And who can tell me the maps..?

How are the "Bye" players determined?
Like each group has two/three players who don't play the first game - are they somehow "seeded"?
|
Better KesPA ranking, I believe.

Well so much for trying to go to sleep at a decent hour tonight! SO pumped!
