CJ's Protoss line has been on a tear, which is good cause a PvP is probably their best chance at getting rid of Bisu. I'd rather Ssak get thrown into Beltway for the TvT so that Fantasy has a better chance of nomnoming a Protoss.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. It can obviously go either way, depending heavily I think on sniping/counter sniping.
Some matchups I'm hoping to see are: Bisu vs. Hydra Fantasy vs. Horang2 Afrotoss vs. anybody
If he plays Hydra we might see a new EloPeakvZ. I would like to see him play another race than Zerg, it's not boring, but vP for example would give us more information about his current condition and it is more exciting than vZ, since it seems like a long time I saw his last vP.

Been nervously looking forward to this one for a while. CJ have so many snipers that it's going to either take some masterful predictions from Coach Park, or SKT's players are going to have to step up and overcome their respective sniper.
I think if SKT are going to win this one they'll need at least one win from s2 and SoO.

While I probably prefer PvZ to PvP, I'm also interested to see where Bisu is at with his PvP. My gut feel is that it's now his weakest MU, but it will definitely be interesting to see where's his form's at in this MU.
Going into a set against CJ you'd think he would've been practising PvP a lot this week.
This is gonna be such an epic game, I can't wait. I don't know how SKT have been doing recently but CJ have been on a tear with back to back 4-0 wins. But this is starcraft and that means nothing, so GL HF all and let's watch some awesome game! :D

thanks to fold for streaming, first match tvt fanta vs skyhigh. Normally I would go with skyhigh but his tvt is no longer the bonjwa style it once was so this will be interesting. GO GO SKYHIGH FIGHTING!
If SKT are going to win tonight they need to beat some of the snipers sent out against them. CJ are full of snipers, so it's not like you can avoid them all.
Like others I'm surprised that Fantasy was used on Beltway though. Clearly Ssak is out of form and/or favour atm.

As a KT fan, I'm confused. Should I cheer for the lesser evil, CJ, or give up on the #1 spot dreams and just hope SKT beats CJ to improve KT's chances of securing #2?
Fantaskeet severely caught out of position; his tank line sieged up in a column at the 12 o'clock position gets flanked by Skyhigh's army from the south while a frontal attack from the east cleans up the mess.
Skyhigh loses some SCVs to the 4 gol drop, but sensing a lack of gols, 8 cloaked wraiths kill all the gols and most of the tanks in the middle of the map
Icarus next, I expect either a ZvZ or Bisu sent out to try and snipe a zerg. That wouldn't be that prudent against a CJ zerg though, better to just send Soo IMO.

Let's be honest, Fantasy's earned a certain amount of faith, especially when it comes to Ace matches. Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but I still would've expected Coach Park to show a bit of wisdom and try and avoid as many snipes as possible. For me that's the key to beating CJ - force their snipers to play the other two races they're inevitably much weaker against.

fantasy never fails to disappoint. he's the player I like the most out of SKT, but he's just so...meh. he's very talented, but also at losing games. like runs out of steam or walks into a brick wall every other game.

Agreed. True CJ are on fire atm, but SKT have been top of the league for large parts of the season. Show some pride lads, it's one thing to be beaten - no shame in that - it's another thing to be smashed.

So many great decisions from Horang2. After he lost his nat, he postured for a last ditch attack, while double expanding and using high ground and the bridge to defend against Bisu's inevitable attack, and using some ridiculous micro even after losing 2 reavers in a shuttle and still coming out on top of that engagement. Even after that, he kept overcoming a numerical disadvantage through sheer micro and positioning. I don't even know how not only did he stay alive, he was gaining and advantage as well!!
Apart from a slight gaff while trying to attack up a ramp and another base at the same time where his army got significantly stormed, Horang2's decision making and micro was superb.

It wouldnt have been this close if he really was a class above :-p He almost lost the game on decision making/positioning when he dropped Bisu's main with 2 shuttles, and lost his nat in the counterattack. Then Bisu got overconfident, lost one maxed engagement, but then he held Horang2 in small-scale engagements constantly, which, coupled with his harass (nonexistent on Horang2's part) evened the game again.

The only reason this wasn't a one-sided domination, was due to the half base trade. Bisu gained a huge advantage on 2 bases versus 1, but after that Horang2 played amazingly. His micro was absolutely fantastic as he overcame disadvantage after disadvantage. For example, the first major engagement, Horang2 lost 2 reavers in a shuttle, making it 4 reavers vs 2, and he still comes out on top. He engages with 10-20 less supply and still wins engagements in the latter part of the game. He engages with no storms and still wins engagements.
My point is, Horang2 made a few errors from which Bisu should have been able to win the game from. His 2 bases vs 1 should have been gg, but somehow, Horang2 microed his way out of basically every single disadvantageous PvP position possible basically.

It wouldnt have been this close if he really was a class above :-p He almost lost the game on decision making/positioning when he dropped Bisu's main with 2 shuttles, and lost his nat in the counterattack. Then Bisu got overconfident, lost one maxed engagement, but then he held Horang2 in small-scale engagements constantly, which, coupled with his harass (nonexistent on Horang2's part) evened the game again.
I agree, but I thought my post implied I was referring to the latter half of the game. I think Bisu was in an advantageous position going into the engagement, he was maxed and sniped the shuttle with 2 reavers prior, but Horang2 simply micro-ed better. I'm not saying that Bisu played terrible, but I'm saying Horang2 put himself in a losing position but them redeemed himself by playing perfectly after that. It reminds me of... Flash? Especially the clutch defence. Maybe there's a bit of hyperbole in my post, but you'll have to excuse me because it was a really epic game.

This was like the closest game ever and the analysis sounds like a one-sided domination. Not that Horangd idnt play awesome, but Bisu did as well.
The only reason this wasn't a one-sided domination, was due to the half base trade. Bisu gained a huge advantage on 2 bases versus 1, but after that Horang2 played amazingly. His micro was absolutely fantastic as he overcame disadvantage after disadvantage. For example, the first major engagement, Horang2 lost 2 reavers in a shuttle, making it 4 reavers vs 2, and he still comes out on top. He engages with 10-20 less supply and still wins engagements in the latter part of the game. He engages with no storms and still wins engagements.

I'll need to check the vod for this, but it seemed like at the end of that sequence were 2 goons on either side hitting each other. ie. both armies were decimated. I think that missing nexus was huge in the mentality of both players.

It was his choice of strategy that did him in. He's become predictable, hella strong, but predictable. Seeing every Zerg lose to him basically no matter what kind of strategy they employ made me an anti-fan in the first place. Pushing out later or going for Reavers instead of DT-s for a change might have shaken Zero up a bit more.

Unfortunate, but CJ does often get the better of SKT in games that aren't playoffs games. And CJ is ranked #2 now, wow. If they had Effort, they'd probably be doing even better. SKT's rookies(and Fantasy, who is sometimes a rookie) need to really step it up.

And then I just... kinda laughed. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but this was literally the last thing I could have expected. Even Oov coming out to play against Neo_G.Bonjwa with a new anti-queen strategy would have been less unexpected... well k not really. Hmm well, Jaehoon has been consulting Shark recently regarding his PvZ and it's helped him improve quite a bit, especially with respect to that game against Zero.

CJ just ruling. I think CJ have the strongest line-up right now in terms of the number of solid players, although they do lack that superstar ace that other top teams have (SKTs Bisu/Fantasy and KTs Flash). It's probably why CJ are so much better at this format and considerably weaker in winners league.

You are. Actually Horang2's play in this game simply blew my mind. Aside from the questionable decision making that cost him his nat (that was already later than Bisu's) early in the game he just seemed to be able to find ways to win every single engagement later on. Especially his clutch defense of the midmap expo. 1 reaver/shuttle + 1 cannon against archon+zealots? Blew my mind. His PvP had the odd-defying effect similar to Flash's TvT which then made it really mind-boggling of how he could be knocked out of the MSL by a Protoss rookie.

Bisu should have all-killed CJ easily, he just didn't care about the match because he must care for his hair which is a much more important matter for the esport scene.
If he had unleashed his real power the whole CJ team would have surrendered in fear without resistance.

LOL? Movie's PvZ was his best mu, and he played against a zerg on a non-zerg favored map. Leta's TvT has 60% winrate on tlpd and ssak is... well, ssak. You can blame skt coach for not sending best if you want to, but I wouldn't send BeSt on a zerg favored map like icarus either. On the other hand, CJ could just send hydra on icarus and "snipe" ssak with hydra (I'm talking about sniping ssak? really? cj b teamers can give him a good game actually). Fantasy vs skyhigh is just so spot on. The guy beat fantasy in both skt vs cj games in last years playoffs and it was not even that close. Bisu vs Horang2? Well, SKT sent a bisu into an obvious horang2.

I'd say Snow is better than he was a year ago, he usually wins PvP and PvZ is no longer an auto-loss. His overall record is only weaker because he's not playing as many PvTs.
Best PvP I have seen in ages. The turning point was when Horang2 sniped the shuttle with two reavers in it, and Bisu deciding to go all in twice in response to Horang2's earlier 5th instead of expanding. Amazing harass from Bisu kept him in the game till the very end.
Horang2's army composition and upgrade were slightly ahead of Bisu at all points. When Bisu was goon heavy, Horang2 produced more zealots. When Bisu was zealot heavy, Horang2 focused on Archons.

The turning point was when Horang2 sniped the shuttle with two reavers in it, and Bisu deciding to go all in twice in response to Horang2's earlier 5th instead of expanding. Amazing harass from Bisu kept him in the game till the very end.
Horang2's army composition and upgrade were slightly ahead of Bisu at all points. When Bisu was goon heavy, Horang2 produced more zealots. When Bisu was zealot heavy, Horang2 focused on Archons.
Well Bisu couldn't really expand to a Fifth as safely as Horang2 could, he could only really expand if he had an army advantage of sorts, but they were pretty much dead-even all game long.
