and yet again another Protoss fails hahahaha. Long live Terran and it's numerous Gold trophies
I haven't been able to read all the pages, but how many Stork breaking up with his GF excuses do we have in this thread?

lol I did not even know Stork broke up with his gf, fuck I did not even know Stork had a gf :-)
As for the finals, I think two things made it turn out the way it did.
1. Fantasy being able to prepare alot more then stork. 2. Stork having to much confident and fait in his pvt that he did not think he needed to practice more then he did.
I think if stork would have played a zerg or toss in the final and a terran in msl ro 8 he probably would have put alot more focus on the OSL final and alot less on MSL.
Hope Stork can learn from this. OSL final is nothing you can take with eas or you will be destroyed!!

Didnt he give up Proleague and MSL to try and win OSL

I dont think he gave anything up. Khan let stork stay over their game the day befor the OSL final, but Stork himself has said that he practiced alot for the MSL games vs Zero. Seeing as how Stork seemed to think to high of his pvt, it would make sens that he did spend time on pvz since he probably thought he did not need as much time to practice his pvt vs fanta.
big misstake that turned out to be!

I'm not a Stork fan but even i can see Fantasy's victories were hollow. Of course you always get the people who say simply 'x played badly thats the only reason y won', but this case it really really was clear. Stork played right into his hands. Did he not practice Pathfinder at all? Me, as a D+ player could see you need to go multiple shuttles on that map to counter what he was doing. Placing key buildings in range of tanks OUTSIDE OF YOUR BASE??
I question Protoss and their refusal to deviate from the norm too. You got a stargate or 2 at one point in the game not being used. If you're on a map like Pathfinder, Outsider, Fortress. Why not 2 scouts? Completely unexpected, rip dropships to pieces with 4 shots each. Can slowly pick away and tanks and force goliaths. Nony has done it successfully on high level ICCUP games, and he was going even further and commiting to 12 or more scouts and using them to take down tanks when pushing in like mutas Vs Mech. They also take target priority over shuttles when you are pushing, and there's no way Fantasy is gonna manually target the shuttle with turrets.

^ It's a high stress situation, it's very unlikely that he can afford such a risk as... Scouts. A Scout is already exorbitant on its own, 2 will surely cripple the ground unit count. Now ask yourself this question: does Nony sit between a huge load of cash+ultimate glory and a sarcastic "King of Silver" title when he build scouts against high level ICC players? It's a final, so each mistake has immense repercussions, unlike a ordinary PL game. Yes, Stork did make a terrible mistake when he let his Observatory gets sniped due to poor building positioning but if he doesn't put buildings in the remote areas of the base he'll also run the risk of not spotting drops in his main soon enough. Oh well, it's a lot easier when you say it in retrospect.

He already looked nervous when the OGN caster told him every pundit who was asked voted for him to win the OSL. Add to that comments about skipping PL, issues with gf, Jaekyung (his explanation, not mine)...

I don't think Stork should be considered part of the Kong line if he's already won a gold.

It's just a random example of something that could have been done. He had plenty of time to prepare on map where a drop-heavy player was almost 100% going to control the air. 2 scouts while waiting for arb tech would not have crippled the eco as much as constantly losing ground units attempting to defend his main from drops. Dropships die almost instantly to 2 scouts, and they can ratatatata away at lonesome tanks too for the sake of saving ground units. Sure it would be weird and unexpected, isn't that good? Instead of playing like the first 2 sets where he went for the exact builds you would have guessed. After the first tank kill on Gladiator he had a clear window for some kind of bulldog especially if Fantasy was going goliaths. And again in the second set although i was tired and don't remember everything that happened, yet again he got sniped by a wraith.
Anyway considering Pathfinder, why not play as the aggressor? Go for a lower eco, and control the clearly 100% vital middle ground between the bases. Do a bulldog. Do an elevator. Anything except what he actually did which was try and play a standard PvT with arbs on a map completely inappropriate for it. He underestimated Fantasy and thought he could win pure mechanics, no chance. I wonder if the revolutionary or at least 'special' build is to get Vessel out so early, Sea.Really also did it recently and killed loads of obs with it.

Guys Stork should have made scouts he would totally have schooled Fantasy's quick anti-air in such a case in addition to crushing his timing pushes with the superior air power offered by this fantastic and highly-regarded Protoss unit
|
Dudes, to get the real story behind what actually went down, someone needs to find the secretly taped three hour conversation Stork had with January in the train. It could be the next big Majaegate scandal.
|
Actually Stork should make dark Archons and mindcontrol fantasy to failing each game XD

Samsung kahn's coach made stork take time off and skip proleague to practice for starleagues, there are no facts whatsoever behind you saying fantasy practiced more than stork for the finals.

Perhaps he didn't practice more but compare the practice partners they have.
Fantasy vP: Bisu Best Sun Even without Sun this gives you two PvT monsters.
Stork vT: Turn Reality Where Reality is bad overall and Turn has a 0% win record against P.
It might not be a matter of quantity but rather the quality of training.

^^ Stork said that he didn't need Flash to practice, clearly saying he was confident in his ability to win with only practice partners. Evidently he wasn't, he should've gotten help from Sea or something. Though Fantasy doesn't need to look further than his own team for TvP practice, Stork definitely needed to prepare better.
