Seriously though, I'd have sworn before the match that Hydra would make Killer look silly, and we'd have a top-notch ZvZ with Jaedong and Hydra. But I guess not.

I'm surprised that Perfectman beat Horang2 and Leta but Killer getting another 2-kill isn't that surprising. He's a pretty solid player (who occasionally fails miserably) with no particularly bad matchups (although he does tend to suck in lategame ZvT).

OZ making comeback this WL! You forgot Hiya's 2-0, with amazing amazing game vs. Violet, probably one of the best games this season.

Woahhhh Killer, stepping it up. Although I guess if any matchup was a coin flip, it would be ZvZ (with the exception being jaedong)

I think Killer showed clearly you don't need to attempt to get a 4th base and hive as quickly as possible these days.

I found that odd and thought about it for some time. I believe the reason Killer was able to stay on three bases and win is beause that third base that protoss took was pretty hard to defend. That ramp is large and there is a lot of room to run hydras through it. Also, Protoss actually took the closest base to Zerg. Thus the Zerg opponent was able to focus on denying it instead of expanding himself.
So yes, staying on three bases is viable but that depends on the map and where the protoss expands.

Just wondering, are the winner's interviews from this match going to be translated? I want to see what Killer and Perfectman have to say.

Jaedong looked so happy! if other players on oz continue to win, that would just be amazing

Yeah i don't want to say this as the definitive strategy to use in ZvP now or anything, and Snow's decision to attempt a third at that position instead of commiting to 2 base vs 3 certainly helped, but you could see just by pure unit count Killer wasn't struggling heavily like so many other games i've seen recently.. i can just imagine JD immediately taking the 12 o clock natural then the 12 main and barely trying to hold the first push.

Is anyone doing the interview? It's not everyday the new guard takes home a win
