Is it me or is Mystlord's stream really quiet? Anytime it goes to an ad it blasts my speakers like no others, but it's still hard to hear on the regular stream.

Movie attempts to attack the highground outside sin's min only, stasis and a-walk, loses a lot of goons to mines and other tanks. Movie retreats.
Movie expo at 12 now. Gets taken out by vults seconds later. Movie attempts to expo at 6. Vults get there seconds later as well, but Movie holds with goons.
Good stasis by Movie, but hOn_sin is just too good, doesn't take any significant losses and continues to hammer at 6 oclock. Movie losing a ton of units trying to hold it, but is finally driven back.

Hah, just be glad it's not the other way around... during commercials I just mute it and wait.
yeah Mystlord is really generous for streaming this. I've seen him have bad days of streaming and he's weathered the worst of it for us streamers. thanks man!
Movie just wanted to do any amount of damage as soon as possible, as if he needed to go to the washroom and wanted to finish it quick. You cannot launch these half assed attacks and on the fly recalls of 6-8 goons. A set-up mech just deals too much damage too quickly.
Hydra finally cleans out the vultures after losing half his drones. Another vulture drop on the way, but gets deflected by hydras standing guard. Vults sneak in on foot anyway, and pick off 2 more drones.
Hydra's econ is in the shitter atm, he's using all his larvae to pump drones.

but hon_sin's vulture drops were very good, and he took virtually 0 economic damage the whole game while dealing a lot to hydra... impressive play by hon_sin
I'm not sure if I should get too excited yet. He hasn't been playing all too well lately, and he's not that strong v. Terran (except for Flash, somehow).

hOn definitely stands a chance.
wtf?
Care to elaborate upon your oh-so-meaningful statement?
Effort's weakest matchup, although still >50% (55%), is versus Terran. He's 5-5 in his last ten games against Terran, and has been doing poorly in his OSL run. Thus, I don't find it absurd to think hOn could win a match against him.
his game against light was very good, he can definitely play top level zvt

sure if u want to compare hon sin to light fantasy and leta effort isnt inconsistent as that and it would be very surprising if he would have any troubles taking care of this little Terran
;o I hope I get to stay up for a possible effort all kill. But yeah, hon has a solid chance against effort since he plays terran and zergs have been struggling against terran recently.
Effort attempts a ling surround around a small group of marines, but loses most of them when another nearby group comes to help. hOn_sin getting turrets up and pumping rines.
scan goes and see's effort drone taking the 3rd on 7 oclock but wont know he was scanned since the drone came after the scan thats what i call perfect scan lol
hOn_sin scans the lurkers but still mismicros and loses most of his forces, gets only 1 lurker. Mutas clean up the rest of the marines. Attack was a big waste.
Dropship moving through 12. Gets spotted by an overlord, but makes a turn down and the mutas overshoot it. Dropship makes it to 7.5 and drops the m&m. Mutas + sunken kills it.

I sweated for a few minutes there, thought Sin should've gone for the 2 sunk bust, and later on he was so close to breaking Effort's third. Great play, good micro, just need more experience!

enough eleboration ?
Haha, how spiteful of you.
Doesn't change the fact that he stood a good chance. Had he broken the third, which he almost did, it could have been a very different game.
He also failed to spot the guardians, which will doom any Terran player. He messed up, Effort played better. After watching that game I still don't think my earlier statements were unreasonable at all.
He didn't almost break the third. If he didn't run out of scan, he would've killed the 2nd lurker with maybe 6 marines left, which the mutas would've cleaned up.

The hope given by the 2-3 long ZvZ games of last month was really foolish to have, this match up is dead.
Do you even play Zerg? ZvZ is an awesome match-up. Everything is balancing on the razors edge. That game was ridiculous. Both of them decided to get two extra drones on minerals at their expo. And the match-up is changing. For example the 2 hatch in base muta rush is dead because you can get really punished if the other player gets his gas up when the mutas come out, but I'm pretty sure it'll be rolling back into favor as these days there are a lot of heavy ling openings even when they're not all-ins. If you really want to rush the muta and have the drones then the in base hatch and maybe one sunken is perfect.
Just play 20 ZvZs and come back and say if the match-ups boring.

Well I'm pretty sure they're sending Zergs out so that Skyhigh won't play cause we all know how bad Skyhigh's TvZ is so if Soulkey or Crazy Hydra won, I think Woongjin would have already won.

I do. And it is my worst match up. Both at bw and sc2.
I've never said it isnt tense, in fact i really think it is the hardest match for zergs.
Moreover the units i really like to play with are hydra and guardian. Not much room for them in ZvZ isnt it?
And as for casted games, it comes down to zergling/muta/scourge micro and it's been like that for years. It really starts to get old imo. But i guess there might be people who like it.

(Oh well, another ZvZ, just great)
Then you don't like ZvZ. Fine. But don't just come and say the matchup is "dead" because the players don't use the units you like.
Effort is blue instead of yellow wtf... and Zero is white instead of red... wtf did STX do... I thought it was always suppose to be red and yellow... my GSM experience has been all a lie... lol

I was saying that not because i don't like it but because it never changes, that's all. After all, i still am amazed by the game sense and micro required to master it.
The few game that reached the 20min mark were really awesome to watch. I just hoped we could see more of them. I was also confident that given the opportunity to play a different ZvZ progamers would create new stats/trends in the least played area of bw. It was really something i was looking forward to.
WTF man, Zero beating both Effort and JD in the span of two days? He's gonna beat Hyuk tomorrow too, and after that I'll see KeSPA become a benevolent organization -_-

The matchup is actually evolving but that only happens when games go past a certain stage where massing more mutalisks becomes counter-productive as opposed to teching to hive tech and such (this is provided neither player really wants to risk all-ining).
Can't happen too often unfortunately, as early games often leave one player far behind the other.
Zero preparing another attack, defiler in the mix now. Plague on the hydra, swarms and lings. 2 Reavers and a few archons hold off the first wave, and another comes in with a surround which kills both reavers.
3rd group takes out the archon and some hts. Hts stormed themselves at the end there.
I thought snow played very well actually. But zero's macro machine is just insane. Also seemed to me like Snow should have had more gateways than what he had.

Snow's main was mined out when he was taking his 4th, then his nat mined out shortly after throwing around 5 cannons there, etc. The min-only didn't have much patches either - he wasn't mining much, Zero with his "less than one drone per mineral patch" was probably getting more.
On August 09 2010 20:57 kmdarkmaster wrote: it seems unfair that toss had his minerals mined out and zerg not, although zerg did create much more units than toss.
Zergs don't generally saturate as many drones in their expos since they need the larvae for units. They do have more expos though which evens it out. Also, lings are very cheap, compared to protoss army compositions of zealot/archon/reaver.

zvp is unfair
man, stars has such a good lineup. hopefully zero's zvz stays this way so he'll be a genuine ace for them
he did some really unfortunate shit like storm his own shuttle, get his goon heavy army flanked by lings, storm his temps - but he played really well and if zero wasnt so comfortable making heaps of shit he wouldve looked much better when he pushed out
On August 09 2010 21:05 zmeqt wrote: That macro was absurd..I haven`t seen anything like that for a long time.Maybe only Best is capable of something like that.
It was impressive , but not that incredible , most top zergs have perfect macro . Zero started out good i think he made a sixth hatch before hydra den which set him up for a pretty strong macro oriented middle game . Whats most impressive about Zero is his army control . Most of his attacks are really well co-ordinated .

The kid played pretty well actually, was somewhat helped by scouting Movie's proxy and Hydra's interesting minesweeping tactics, but it wasn't too pretty if you're a CJ fan.
And yeah, we missed this Zero down the stretch in the SPL
I'm liking how Woongjin is looking in stx. ZerO's ZvZ is starting to see a revival. I'm excited for ZerO vs Hyuk. Man if Stars can get pick up Leta they will be amazing. Even if they don't it looks like they have woongjin terrans finally stepping up to the plate. I'm hoping for PianO to wow us all with another all-kill on KT, assuming woongjin gets that far
zero is a good player but very inconsistent and chokes on important matches. Hopefully he will be more consistent from now on and help Woongjin stars reach the playoff next season.
