Well...from what I know, there are couple of reasons.

1. PL final used to be two days and decided by super ace. Day 1 had lower attendance than Day 2 last season. It's true that Day 2 is more hype worthy, but Day 1 did rain...

2. One single BO7 is more dramatic. One mistake, like Flash mis-measuring his keyboard to monitor to mouse distance ratio, can decide what those boys get to take home after half a year of hard work. So it's more hype worthy and greater tension.

3. One third of the cost of hosting a BO3.

No one else in KTFlash is comparable to Bisu/Best/Fantasy. ForGG Violet and Stats are solid, but they in no way are as good as the BBF trio. They're at Hyuk's level at most. And who knows, Bisu may sudden attain enlightenment and stop running archons into sieged tanks and get his PvT back. You never know.
