I feel asleep during the ace match and I do not remember when I did. I just remember hearing some korean in the background and waking up to my laptop in sleep mode and some earbuds tangled around me. I guess I subconsciously knew SKT was going to win it and that my LB was going to be fine.
(Time to catch up on a missed match! )
MBC/Liquid/TSM always.

If SKT winning PL 2 years in a row counts as "the same team winning everything", you clearly haven't been watching Starcraft long enough.

You do realize that prior to last year, SKT hadn't won any team leagues since 2006, right? And even before that, winning the Triple Crown once hardly counts as "winning everything".

Did you guys even watch this match? Kal didn't "suicide" his reavers. Fantasy outplayed his arse the 2nd go round from the reavers.

Did you not see the floating E-Bay that was hiding a Turret, goliath, and marines? Kal rushed in... saw the one turret and was like... ezpz. And Fantasy said, haha watch this and took out the shuttles. Had siege mode in the back to prevent any major dmg and Fantasy also had like 2-3 turrets on his mineral line. So Kal was forced to drop way before the mineral line, just like Fantasy wanted.

Kal did not lose the game after that moment. His failed attack on Fanta 3rd was the reason Fanta won and Kal lost.

All true, except I do think losing all that stuff in the shuttles was what made him lose in the end, as that was what drove him into that desperate attack.

Losing the shuttles and their contents instantly took away any sort of map control Kal had and fantasy already having 3 fully functioning bases capitalized on that by starting his fourth and continued aggression via his usual vulture shenanigans. Having his economy harrassed and especially having his attempts at expanding shut down over and over, Kal saw no choice but to try to abuse fantasy's less than ideal tank position to try to bring down his lead and to gain an opportunity to double expand, and probably to harass/kill an expansion himself. He was actually pretty close for a while too, there were a few very promising zealotbombs/minedrags, but in the end his execution fell a little short with many of his zealots being late to the party or chasing vultures around.

The fact that Kal didn't think he could wait for that arbiter that popped soon after his army was defeated shows how desperate he was to make a swing in the game happen, and also how promising an opening he thought fantasy's slightly awkward army positioning was.

But it's because of Fantasy's play on the E-bay. Fantasy outsmarted Kal on that moment and it turned the tide. I don't think Kal was way ahead even after the harass like everyone is suggesting.. Fantasy had a sizeable ground army and his vultures took out as many probes as that reaver did. Also, remember Fantasy went early expo and had 2 base vs 1 base for a good 1-2 minutes before Kal got his 2nd up. Fantasy went econ build and defense and Kal went into Aggressive harass. Fantasy Defense > Kal Offense and Fantasy did everything perfectly on his counter attack. Just like soccer. If you're style is Coutner attack, you force your opponent into a mistake and capitalize. That's what Fanta did to win.

What the hell are you guys talking about?

T1 doesn't win everything.

Hanbit dominated Proleague in 2004. (Casy, Zeus, Clon, Daezang)
T1 dominated Proleague in 2005. (Boxer, Midas, iloveOOV, Kingdom)
MBCGame dominated Proleague in 2006. (Pusan, July, Sea, Light)
LecafOZ dominated Proleague in 2007 (AnyTime, Jaedong, ForGG)

I'd say that's a pretty good balance of things. SKT did win last year, with their FantasyBisuBest combo, and they're still riding the momentum. But when SKT won Proleague back in 2005, their core players were totally different from their key players today. It's a very different team.

prototype im so disappointed in you for still not recommending set 3. especially when you say fail on both sides when modesty didnt really do anything wrong at all (purposefully let probe scout fast lair and then purposefully made 2 hydra dens for double upgrades).

Fantasy played greedy daring the opponent to attack and also went on sudden vulture raids. Fantasy got the better of Kal before the shuttle and reaver harass - during the goon vs vulture and scv fight. He came out of that quite ahead thanks to Kal funneling so many goons across the map. Then Fantasy expanded again - 3 CC strategy - against Kal's shuttle and reaver so Kal had to do plenty of damage and he did in getting 20 kills with the Reaver. Kal came away ever so slightly ahead because the goon assault on the 3rd was a failure. But immediately after that Fantasy got 7 probe kills and force Kal into an aborted probe transfer.

But Kal messed up on that attack. He should never have move the shuttle over the goliath and turret combo. After he did that there was no way the reavers were getting extracted out of that situation. And it wouldn't have mattered how much damage Kal did to Fantasy's economy before those reavers got killed. It looked worse because the only scarab that Kal got off was a dud.

How does Fantasy have such a consistent winrate vs protoss when his play is fairly 1 dimensional. You'd think protoss would realize all they'd have to do is play slightly more defensive and cautious of vultures cause thats what almost every TvP he plays relies on. Even he said his TvP winrate in practice isn't as good cause his teammates know how to stop his vultures.
Morrow on ZvP: "I'm not very confident in general vs Protoss because of the imbalance (Yes its imbalanced, get over it)."

I doubt modesty purposely allowed best to scout his fast lair.

The real reason why I don't recommend it is because mutalisks shutdowned best's natural with zero effort. That pretty much sealed the game, but then modesty suicides all his hydralisks into cannon range. But it was still 3 base vs 1 base, so zerg is gonna win sooner or later.

There are only 2 things I dislike in SKT at the moment:
1. Playing zergs too much (if you're going to throw away games, at least do so in style and send Boxer or Oov out).
2. Why the awful orange shirts?!

Fantasy outplayed Kal, simple as that. He played a great game. I love how surprising Canatas been, I"m glad he's not depressed anymore. Too bad Fantasy didnt reveal what map for Flash to play him on. Although KT would prolly be cheap and just try to snipe him and save Flash.
