well in all fairness he did push and easily killed the natural, its just he couldn't push into the main, best had that expo behind the his main and took another one that wasnt scouted

Hydra breaks always works when toss sits on his ass all game. That's why folks like Movie and Jangbi (this season) are so good at PvZ: they actually do shit. And that's why Best and Stork are so average at at: they just kind of chill out waiting for zerg to move.

Well, MVP's TvP is pretty strong, not entirely unexpected. I'm surprised Hydra actually advanced, though you couldn't ever count on Best winning a PvZ ;o
Stork probably will now have a worse period, as usual ;o

Stork. Ugh. + Show Spoiler +Let's not forget that the maps suck for P lately. Nevertheless, just about all the Ps seem to be sucking it up lately, above and beyond anything the maps could be doing. Maybe the maps are making them discouraged? I dunno. Maps probably aren't that bad; I shouldn't bitch but I just want Stork to be so awesome so I have to blame something.

Surely its time for the map makers to wake up to the reality of the situation. They need to look back on the age of the dragons and take inspiration because atm they're doing something wrong. Protoss having such a hard time

Suddenly, I have lost 90% of my interest in the MSL with Kal and Stork gone. The other 10% rests with Bisu.

I'm frankly not that surprised with Stork's loss. He does have the perplexing tendency to fall out of groups he's supposed to win. (Hi Shine [no not the zerg, the terran]). But it's really disappointing.
Blergh, now there's practically little-to-no protoss left. :[
Maybe that strategy with the all-protoss group by Bisu/Movie/Shuttle/Stats was a good idea after all.

I wonder why so many people are blaming the maps. MVP beated Stork and Best on Fighting Spirit and Match Point, not exactly super terran favored maps...
Anyway, little more race diversity would be fine, but better this than all protoss semifinals again lol.

Stork has definitely been doing slumping in the individual leagues just as bad as Bisu. Over the past two seasons. I wonder why people think Stork is doing so much better, or do they just have higher expectations of Bisu?

2010 MSL- In ro32 has not played yet

These are the two best protoss in the game at the moment. They just can't seem to hack it in the starleagues. There has to be balance issues with the maps as the dragons and protoss in general don't seem to be doing good at all.
Here is some data from the last 2 MSLs and OSLs about protoss performance.
They have no champions and Movie is the only finalist.
Protoss in the ro4 in the last 2 MSLs and OSLs: 2
Protoss in the ro8 of the last 2 MSLS and OSLs: 7
If you want to add in other tournaments for the roughly past 8 months. Bisu beat Stork in the WCG Korea final, but no other protoss made it to the ro4 or ro8.
At GOM, no protoss made the ro4 and 2 made the ro8.
Idk, I guess since the age of the dragons ended the maps have been very hard on protoss. They can't all be going into slumps at the same time. Another possibility is terran and zerg players improved a lot and toss players cant improve their race anymore. It really is unfortunate to see them all losing for the past 8 or 9 months.

You have to think about how the players are playing, not just their results. I haven't seen the games yet but blindly saying Stork is slumping and comparing him to Bisu (who had no Ro8 finishes, unlike Stork) is just fail.
Stork has always been kinda inconsistent, and even if he fell here he's still the guy who was taking games off Flash and Jaedong.

He never got science vessels, as he has 3 base scanners to counter arbiter tech
Instead, he sacrificed tech to get 8 factories up as fast as possible.
He also spread tanks very very very very nicely. Stasis does nothing against well spread tanks, and MVP knows it. If 350 gas cant stasis 3 tanks together, its basically a waste of gas.
His knowledge of the map is also overwhelmingly good. He abused the walls of match point so his tanks are harder to flank, His mine positioning was perfect, He did not put any mines near his tanks, He never lost a single tank to mines. very very good play.
After his first group of vultures died, it freed up supply to add 2 more factories, making it 3 fact tanks 7 fact vults. Awesome decision making by MVP He knows he can make two times more vultures then protoss can get zealots.
The third CC was very hard to counter, because vultures got their mines as fast as possible. If goons moved out of their base, not only they risk running into mines, but vultures can run in and rain havoc on the natural. Nothing much protoss can do, since its their fault of the delayed tech.

Only if you count offline events, it's even otherwise. And the balance of a map at the offline level isn't really relevant to discussing balance at the Proleague level.

MVP was a baller for going double TWICE in a row. Stork's double expand seemed like a better solution than Best's choice in strategy especially on Fighting Spirit where the 3rd and 4th are so far from each other. Poor Stork, wanted to see him advance.
