...And Group A isn't everything! Sit tight, good ladies and gentlemen of Team Liquid, because tonight we bring you yet another exciting event. As with the four contenders in group A, the four competitors that comprise Group F will be engaging in fierce mano-a-mano matches to determine which two of them shall advance, victorious, to the Round of 16, and which two will fall by the wayside. Without further ado, I bring you...
Hwasin, while never having the fortune to win any OSL or MSL, is amazingly consistent--He is the person you see in the Ro16, time and time again. If we were to rewind to 2007, when Hwasin was king of the world, I'd have no doubts of Hwasin easily sweeping this group. However, the Red Sniper has been out recently, tending to his grandmother. Will he be able to get his cross hairs aligned on FireFist's Hive? Or will ZerO and JangBi be too elusive for his sights?
While Hwasin takes a few warm-up swings, I'll take the opportunity to preview his opponent. While he's definitely the least known and accomplished of the four in Group F, he can still be a force to be reckoned with. Please welcome...
Kim "I'm too cool for a nickname" Jae Choon, FireFist!
KT's captain is definitely the dark house of tonight. As far as individual leagues go, he's not the most noticeable, having only one noteworthy event. Unfortunately for FireFist, with his best match-up being ZvP (which is clearly imba!), he is facing Hwasin the terran first round, so he'll have to bring all his tricks. Perhaps he'll take a five-pool jab, or maybe go for a lurker-all in flurry of blows. Who knows? While Hwasin is favored for their match tonight, I wouldn't dismiss FireFist so easily...
Before I introduce the other two contenders for tonight, I'm going to take a second to squeal like a girl. Just kidding, but the females do go crazy over this kid. Let's take a moment to stare at those bad-ass purple glasses as we cheer on...
Once again, let me comment on how cute ZerO is. He's so awesome, he gets kisses from girls even when he doesn't play. However, how does that translate into his Starcraft skill? His first match is against the super awesome JangBi, who has a 2-1 head-to-head advantage on him. However, ZerO's skill is phenomenal, so no matter what the result, we'll be seeing some good matches out of him, and hopefully a lot of parasites, gooey green goo, and broodlings.
Last but not least, let's bring in our other Khan Protoss, who so often gets overshadowed by Stork, but takes comfort in having a 5-0 record against the Bird. Give it up for two-time MSL silver medalist...
JangBi, who couldn't hold his weight early on in the Winner's League, slowly picked up his game by the end of the season, ending with a 3-kill against WeMade FOX. Has he carried the momentum into this MSL? ZerO is not a Shine, and will definitely be bringing some more creativity than just mass Mutas. So JangBi, bring the high-class game we know you can play, and give us a show.
Hwasin is hella sexy, and will take it over FireFist. I sense 5pool. ZerO versus JangBi should give us a very nice match, but ZerO is so cute that JangBi should just give up before playing. But seriously, I call for ZerO to take the match. Hwasin hasn't been able to beat ZerO the last few times they've played, and ZerO's ZvT has been fantastic lately, so ZerO will advance 2-0. JangBi will wipe the floor with FireFist, though I sense another 5pool incoming. For the finals, I'm very conflicted. On one hand, Hwasin's TvP is subpar, being below 50%, and JangBi's PvT is over 64%, meaning that JangBi should take this easily. Furthermore, Hwasin is 0-4 head-to-head against JangBi. On the other hand, Hwasinalways makes it, being the definition of stability, and this superstition makes me wonder. Let me take a minute to go find a coin, and I'll flip it for that. Okay, JangBi makes it out alive with the 2-1, though if there's any match I'm unsure of, it'll be this one since it's Hwasin in question.
From LR thread, heard it was good. Wasn't around to watch it.
Fantastic query! Post me streams and I'll list them here. Massive props to Mystlord for not only streaming this, but also Group A! That's a lot of hours of Starcraft... Note: Hey, so my dental appointment has been moved from 11:40 to 8:40... Sorry folks, I won't be able to update the OP until I get back. Sorry for any inconveniences!
Why would you ever bet against the Red Sniper in the round of 32? The guy always makes it to Ro16. His group might look tough, but rest assured, he'll find a way to make it through.

Gonna pick Jangbi/Hwasin.
I was really torn. So I flipped a coin. .-. I'm like fail for liquibet tonight, so meh.
Hoping Jangbi/Hwasin. Predicting Jangbi/Zero. Hwasin always somehow makes it into the Ro16, but Zero is pretty scary and Jangbi rapes the shit out of terrans as long as he isn't in super slump mode.
I can really imagine any combination of players to advance here. I just hope Firefist does not make it, he has the least amount of character amongst them.
Starport going up for Hwasin. 4rax lit... Firefist's mutas spawned... Hwasin scans bottom left, is prepared to push there... Now going top right (zerg third)... Muta ling waiting to backstab? Nope, they head toward the third.
MnM ball taken out, but with relatively heavy losses. Hatchery is saved though. Sunken going down.
Another marine and medic ball sent to take out the third gets intercepted by mutaling and is raped... 3 more barracks for Hwasin starting, for a grand total of 7... Hive up for Firefist... Crazy... YOU NEED DEFILERS BOY.
6 sunks at the third, massive 1/1 ball of bio for hwasin, backstab at hwasin's main, HWASIN GOES FOR FIREFIST'S MAIN, SUNKS GO DOWN, ULTRAS NOT OUT YET, NATURAL IS BREACHED,
Firefist gets into Hwasin's main! But HWASIN is down south. Nat sunks fall! Shit that is a LOT of marines. Meanwhile, Hwasin clears out the infestation back home. Hwasin is in the main! ULTRAS OUT. But all four went down. As his tech is about to go down, Firefist GGs. Yay a short game ^_^ Four more like this please and I can sleepuuuuuuuuu.
Oh fuck all drones pulled and it gets shut down. Ok Jangbi just expands and Zero sneaks one zergling past the cannon. Not going to be too big of an issue.

I'm not even sure if a successful drop would've mattered at that point. He takes out Zero's main at best, while Zero just rolls over him with his massive army.
JUST KIDDING HELLO SCV AND MARINES BUNKER ABOUT TO FINISH~ Sunken goes up! Takes down one rine before falling... ZerO retreats backward... bunker just hitting hatch now.
Why are the Zergs losing ZvTs miserably since Winner's league? Something about that maps? I can't remember the last time I've seen a 12 hatch -->3 hatch muta win

yes, a decent looking macro battle favoring map
i like what i'm seeing so far
It's a little too easy to turtle on for my taste -- you don't really need to defend on multiple fronts, you can just sort of crawl outwards and expand along the way. Obviously these are the very first games, so I'm not drawing any final conclusions.
gg This map looks promising for some great unconventional plays in the future too. I'm a bit sorry to see Zero go, but someone had to out of these 3. Jangbi will surely produce some entertaining games just as well.
I just want to point out that the Recommended Games list here gives spoilers, which is pretty bad.
The Recommended Games should basically just say whether it was a good game or not and, perhaps, very briefly and vaguely why ("extremely intense micro game!" etc.).
So sorry ^_^ But you can deal with it this time I'm too damn tired to care right now.
I'll give you a bit more. Tell you what: why don't you just make it next time? Then you won't have to "point out" how bad it is. Oh, or even better you could shoot me a PM! How embarrassing must it be for the maker of this thread to be called out by somebody :O
Whoah dude, I wasn't trying to say that your thread sucks or call you out and make you look bad or anything like that! Everything else about the thread is excellent, but it's a mistake many people make to accidentally give spoilers in the Recommended Games list, and I just wanted to draw attention to it.
Sorry if I just came across as condescending, it really wasn't on purpose
Not particularly a Jangbi fan, but it made me sad to see him slump so much (and he looked absolutely crushed after Lux took him out in the MSL finals), so I'm glad he's coming back.
