It is an unforeseen crash with the streaming software, it has nothing to do with "preparedness" unless we somehow find a way to simulate 5000 users connecting at once.
If you do not wish to receive our 1 email per 7 years of forum history, you may choose that option (there was a link at the bottom for you to opt out).

Doesn't work for me. ( I downloaded Silverlight, opened http://www.teamliquid.net/live/ and pressed start button. No action. I tried to open mms://live.teamliquid.net:80/ link in VLC and GOM, but there is an error - player cann't find anything to play. (

I never said it accomplished anything, I just said they have a right to complain if they want to... it's still stupid of people to complain, but they can o_O.
Just because TL is doing this for free doesn't mean people can't complain. If someone offers to fix your computer for free and he breaks it even worse... you're going to complain about it.

1) Were the games scheduled to be played live and streamed at 14:00? 2) If so, are the games being delayed and will be started when the stream is up or are we going to have to watch replays instead (on the stream)?

It's always going to be a replay so delays don't matter.

We always watch the replays because of lag. You shouldn't expect to watch it live...that's just unrealistic unless they flew everyone from around the room into one room just for this tournament.

No, I kid, I'm just happy you guys are running this event. There's always going to be some problems, I can live with it. The fact we're lucky enough to have an event like this in the first place is enough and thankfully the issues don't effect the players.

Awesome intro. However, TSL1's intro was more catching imho. Higher spirit or something, I can't explain it even in my native language. I will keep enjoying it though.

Idra is being so manner. This is Bo5 dude. Humiliate him. Break his spirit to play in the next games. Make BCs or nuke. Eraser all his drones and wait to see if he will leave.
WTF, did Idra practice for this vs Effort with Iris standing above him and pointing things out all the time? Seriously, this guy is a monster, I'm totally not his fan, but i can't disagree that Idra's TvZ is BEASTLY

Yeah, it is, I think there is an option to sync in vlc, but im afraid to fuck up the stream by doing it.
I have to wonder what the hell the zerg was thinking. He got a good lurker contain but decided he still didn't need a third and went to hive? Ugg even I know if I were in his lurker contain position I would get my third.

There's very little to talk about the zerg and why would he start to praise the zerg when he is playing terribly compared to IdrA? Sure if he now wins IdrA he'll get a huge amounts of praise and positive comments from Artosis, but ffs. you have to earn it.

you really could have mixed up the casters another way. a P-T couple and a duble Zerg. XiaozI's build was really standard with getting the speed first and lair right after, and our casters suggest that this is sg unusal in this build.

3rd rax, acad making for Idra. CC finished. Scan making, Idra waiting to move out, making scvs out of second cc. Pushes his way out, takes natural. Lair about halfway. MMF force moving out for Idra.

it really really wasnt along time ago at all. Also who won in their very last encounter? On a Terran favoured map might I add.
But yes this time Idra would be more of a favourite, simply because ret hasn't had optimal practice environment while Idra has pro gamers specifically helping him for his series.
Xiaozi forced into a third sunken. Idra rallying outside zerg natural. Up to 5 sunks, making spire. Xiaozi taking a fourth base, below his main (min only base). Dual evos.

Irradiate researching. Muta harass not doing much of anything. Xiaozi making another hatch in main, still at lair. Taking to pright main. Idra moving out.
1-0 M&M with two tanks take down Xiaozi's 1-1 hydra/lurker attack. Idra sieging up outside Xiaozi's natural. 5 rax, vessels making, fact going. Xiaozi trying to bide his time. Xiaozi throws his army at Idra and does pretty much nothing.
Yawn... Such boring onesided games whenever IdrA plays. As much as I dislike him I can't deny that he is too good for most foreigners. But since people thought it would be good to allow him to play in foreigner tournaments... Bring on the yawn fests!
Worst games ever. First time to see XiaoXi play and the last. Artosis and Tastless are tired, the games started 1 hour late, there is a 4 seconds delay. PLEASE Draco, make me smile :D .
Great games by IdrA! Xiaozi did not have a real chance in any of the games imo. Idra did not risk anything but played damn solid and flueless. Hope the next matchup has some high level play as well
and btw.: TSL just rocks so much! Have been writing on a paper the whole day and can watch SC live at 21:55 CET
It looked like Idra's micro was just so far beyond Xiaozi's that it didn't matter how good an overall position Xiaozi was in. Pretty frustrating to watch.
Unfortunately that was a pretty one-sided series, but there wasn't much Xiaozi could do. Idra is playing way to well lately and it will take a lot to stop him.
it really annoys me to see terran users having resources around the hundreds, when they can use that extra money to either expand or invest in a drop that could do tons of damage

I don't think he said that because he beat xiaozi 3-0, but because the poster believed that Idra's play looked as good as an a-teamer's.
You always play as good as your opponent lets you play. So I guess vs an A-Team Prozerg IdrA wouldn't look sooo overwhelming. He'd probably still look good, I can't judge about that, but he wouldn't win in such a fashion I guess.
But IdrA is amazing :-) Hope he makes it into a league.

GG, Idra outplayed Xiaozi, i hate greg, his manners, his behavior, etc.. but he is a top class player, finally all the time expended by him training its showing us results. I still think that he need to be more creative, his lack of instinct its dissapointing, but he have really impressive mechanics.
xiaozi's last game was really good, great decision with going mineral heavy in the early game, spending it in sunkens, he could've went north sooner, perhaps not expand as much, but idra is just unstopable, his micro, what he does with the defense matrix, awesome game
Idra won't be on the A team any time soon. First he has to win quite some games in Dreamleague. And it seems they don't play him in Dreamleague after he lost and after all the other Ts did very well and because of TSL.

I joined the sc scene late enough that I've been been around when this strat was popular... it's hard to imagine hydra/lurk ever working in TvZ. Seems that lurk/ling is strictly better, no? Maybe if you can snipe tanks with hydras?
If you look up ZvP in the dictionary, you'll see SEn's picture. Seriously, I've been missing his ZvP soooo much, since the days of Longinus where he'd checkerboard 20 lurkers and crush any attempts at resistance. When he switched to Protoss, I felt like crying.

cause draco was very busy dealing with the mutas. But yeah that was a big mistake
Draco gave up air control by suiciding too many corsairs (--> muta counter) and miserably failed his goon/zealot/archon attack by attack-moving. No way to continue after that.
I think Draco could have broken that simcity at his third if he just used his goons to target fire those sunkens... he took over 1000 hp off the hatchery.
Draco could had done a lot of damage at 10 if he didn't waste shots on the hatchery. There were only 2-3 sunkens vs his protoss blob. Draco could had won the game right there had his multitasking been better IMO.

dont blame the simcity, he coulda had more lurkers there( not just 1) and coulda made a spore/extra sunken. He did rely on his simcity but his gameplan would work even without it, just need tighter execution in this case

i find it hard for z vs correct build, not the outdated +1 zeal bs. Zero was raping zeal/archon combo with just mutas on those bridges. Otherwise once map is split its actually hard for zerg to win

stop whis whining, draco never "motivated". He was playing his brains out to get prepared for 10k prize( even 2nd place is sick with 5k) Thats decent money esp in dieing poland economy
he saw that eggs aren't hatching into lings, why build 2nd cannon, and third even so soon, 1 zealot 1 goon can hold early lings easily, third cannon should've covered the gas and back of the mineral
how did he forget how to ee +1 zealot archon, take gas earlier and you don't have to pump out so many zealots, back them up with more archons before you push out and leave the sairs above the nexus to fend of mutas and build cannons, 2 won't do in main, still no scouting with the sairs, 2 DTs wouldn't hurt either
Damn, that is soooo disapointing. Sen did nothing spectacular in games 2 and 3, Draco just fucked those games. Only game 1 was kinda good. I am a sad panda now...
I can't believe that Sen just beasted through Draco 3-0. Draco usually has a pretty solid PvZ, but I guess Sen just played too well and overpowered Draco.

Um, perhaps you missed the games, becuase it was completely justified, Idra, destroyed!! him.

They were more acknowledging how well Idra was playing. His micro from the very first 2 sunken bust in game 1 until the end of game 3 was sick, and of course his macro and control was better than most expected I am sure. Idra such a beast now.

He'd be setting a new world record for words per minute.
I guess it had something to do with the 5am casting time.

Draco and Xiaozi were simply destroyed. In retrospect, there was no point in either set, especially Draco vs. Sen, where I could see them pulling ahead. Seems like they just lost all motivation after the first losses.

It was 5-7AM, can't really blame both of them
that is very true of course but personally I feel that tasteless isnt as great a caster as he used to be, and I think he hasnt been for awhile. Recently when I rewatched Jaedong vs Flash in the GOM finals on motbobs stream I was like
holy shit I had completely forgotten how amazing he was at casting, the games were so bad and he still managed to make them so freaking exciting, his enthusiasm was just so huge, shouting at everything that happened . Maybe he's just better at solo commentating or sth.
Of course he is still very good and one of the best there are but imho he used to be better because he used to be more excited.

im sorry for the "strong" language but he didnt commentate much on idras play or strat, he just went "idra will win" mode and just keep on telling how xiaozl ( ? ) had lost. i think the most technical thing he said was "idra has 7 rax" or sth.
maybe its the korean air or homesickness but he tends to overcheer foreigners that are in korea (the other one being ret)

I agree. After Tasteless joined up with SuperDaniel in GOM, the quality of his cast went down from there.

Yeah that is understandable but my post was more of a general statement, not just talking about the games tonight. For example Tasteless solo casting at gom >>> Casting with Daniel Lee, although I used to like Daniel Lee a lot.

By the time they were calling the game for Idra, he'd long since won.
Artosis does favour the guys that have been to korea admittedly, but I don't there was a single thing he said out of line tonight.
yeah.. tasteless was great at WCG coz that games were great and mean much more then GOm (where progamers play with mouse only) and here where you see idra playing with "some guy" or sen playing with unbelievably unmotivated draco..
i was excited before every TSL game but tonight.... after two games idra vs xiaozi i was x.x and same thing was with sen vs draco
Personally i really prefer commentaries where people dont shout. Enthusiasm is alrite but what i look for in commentaries and have always looked for in commentaries is when the commentators try to get inside the players' head and talk about what decisions they make, what decisions they can make etc. I watch games for entertainment but I also watch games to learn about starcraft. Its a bit more for competitve players then casual players and there are a lot more casual players here cant do anything about it i suppose.
A lot of people seemed to hate Daniel's commentaries but i actually liked his a lot. He mentions things you can try to improve your game, things you're suppose to do, what you're suppose to have at this situation, how progamers train, and even little stories about the pros. Things like in sc weekly by artosis when he mentions how flash took his nat gas and with scvs that he was going to use to maynard to nat cc he made them mine gas first before cc was up to get his fact earlier. Though I noticed it when i was watching the game before but im sure a lot of people missed it while watching and didnt know until artosis mentioned it out.
I think tasteless has a lot of strange stuff and some cliche-ish things in his commentaries nowadays. Like, "great game" even if the game was garbage, then stuff like "Now, he most likely bla bla for the next x mins y seconds" or something, and it never is even close and he gives no reasoning to why he thinks that.
He also always has some really strange analysis like with the game 1 starvation strategy he didn't really explain that the point was to cut off the amount of bases P can get but emphasized the easy fourth gas, which was kind of strange... I just don't like his casting too much nowadays. His analysis has never been too great but his humor seems to have dropped down quite a lot.
I remember watching GSI and smiling and laughing at numerous points during the games. Watching this series, nothing he said made me even crack a smile. I think Artosis had better humor today, and actually has the better humor overall, nowadays. Many of Tasteless's current comments seem like faked excitement and also some strange attempts of analysis that don't seem to work too well.
Unrelated to this, I believe it was very strange how neither Tasteless nor Artosis catched the obvious Hydralurk strat on Outsider in Idra vs Xiaozi. It was extremely obvious when the 4th hatch went down, and the fact that neither caught it(or at least mentioned it) when Xiaozi started researching ranged attack was quite shocking.
Overall, I think that Artosis was the better caster here by far. Tasteless made me feel kind of like what Gentho did while I was watching the Ascension cast way back in 2008. I pretty much was just waiting for Artosis to start talking again.

The strat was 3 tank push into SK Terran, and he did mention upgrades and the speed of teching in every game iirc. There's not too much in-depth analysis you can do about such standard play, and I think he did fine. I think it's quite objective to say that Idra would win. And he did. It wasn't even close, it was a total crushing.

This is what I love about artosis' casting in general, I think we have that in common, but still, its not like tasteless has evolved from mindless shouter -> superanalytical caster, to me it just feels like he lost some of that fire (to use a cheesy word) he used to have.
@Shikyo I think you are a bit too harsh but I definitely agree that tasteless has acquired some habits, like you mentioned that he always says great game no matter if it was good, or something that I dislike is that when his partner says something very often he's immediately like "yeah definitely, 100% I have to agree with you absolutely" ( like when artosis said destination was the best map ever), it just sounds pretty fake to me and as if it didnt even matter what his partner said.
you are too harsh.. i mean, destiantion is the best map ever for many ppl and tasteless is a guy that don't want to gain attention around every little thing.. i like his casting coz he is positive guy (etc. great game).. and you know, if you have a partner you can't speak all the time: i disagree! you must be like one
I thought the casted games were chosen based on their potential entertainment value. I realise the admins can't predict exactly what will happen but it's not much fun seeing A players crush C level. - judging from what was on display tonight.

For those of you complaining about commentary, it's silly, these two are both good at it, i enjoy hearing what they say, and so do alot of others, i think what was said earlier about the games being extremely one sided, how pumped can you get when nothing really happens? it was purely 1 pushes almost all games that decided the out-come. TSL is great, lots of opportunties for the community, free coverage, prizes and pure fun. Awesome job by everyone, lets hope we get some nail biting 2-3's

I just said that I thought tasteless isnt as good as he used to be. Not in my wildest dreams would I dare say that those two arent good commentators, the 4 TSL commentators are my 4 favourite starcraft commentators.
Ryoo: IDRA'S BODY IS A TANK! Your argument is invalid.
He's awesome what else is there to say? I for one hope for great games in the coming rounds. Still no big TSL2 meme though. It really needs that... I don't think "branking" will cut it.
What else is happening with the Ro16? I haven't heard anything about NoNy.
IdrA has amazing micro though, I'm disappointed Tasteless/Artosis missed pointing out some of his more ridic plays. Good job from them anyways though, definitely a lot better than the HoNCast set-up.
And <3 Sen, that was beastly Z play, but more importantly it was just extremely solid.

The other groups are being streamed tomorrow. Just check the calendar on the right.
Solid cast, one sided games but pretty fun nevertheless. Aside from the inevitable stream delay due to all the traffic the only things that were a bit annoying was the intro being much louder than the commentators and the slight 1-2 second delay in the commentary.

Better a 1-2 second delay in the commentary, than a 10-20 sec lag every 2-3 minutes like its almost "normal" in OSL/MSL (which is mostly cause we're outside of Korea, but still) plus English commentary instead of Korean?!?

All of the Ro16 games are casted .
With the same commentators? Great, looking forward to watching them then. I guess I was just too hyped for the broadcasts and that's where my slight dissapointment came from.
Time to start hyping myself up again for tonights matches=)
It's great also that the vods are available on torrent as well as youtube so fast thanks for that TL.
Fantastic cast, meh rape games. I enjoyed the cast a lot, thanks TL and everyone involved with this TSL. It is a shame that there was no epic macro game this series, but you cant really do much about the games, and Idra's TvZ is pretty much looking invincible, I do not see anyone from the other side of the bracket taking him down.
Well these 2 series were easy to predict. Although I did think draco would win a game. That brings back some memories of when Sen was num 1 non kor for a while.
God Draco played so bad in all three games. If I ever meet Draco I'm going to punch him in the face for that complete disappointment. First 2 games were barely D+ protoss level. so bad

Try a 4-5 second delay (in the vods i don't know about the live stream), but ya i mean what can you do, 4-5 seconds isn't too bad. And I don't care cause its tasteless and artosis casting together which is always awesome.
These series were upsetting... not that i dislike CJ_IdrA[Media] or DuskBin.Sen but ToT)XiaOzI( and BVG.Draco are two of my top 5 favorite foreigners... really tough to see them both get swept in the same day
