TempestThis group is actually quite interesting, as there is no clear favourite to win it between type-b, Tempest and Modesty, although I feel like Tempest will be able to beat Modesty soundly and then barely edge out type-b.Group 2 - MidasThis group is a lot easier to call, hyvaa and Midas will get to the final, where Midas' TvZ expertise will kick in for an easy sweep of the group.Group 3 - NaDaBoy, oh boy, am I excited about this group! The top of the bracket will most likely produce HoGiL for the final match, and the bottom is filled with three relative rookies and NaDa. It's time for our favourite Tornado Terran to get his stuff together and blow away his competition.Group 4 - M18MThis is possibly one of the higher interest groups - sAviOr has played some decent ZvZ games in 2009, however he has recently shown us that his ZvP leaves a lot to be desired. M18M on the other hand is an up and coming Protoss player. I can't be sure what's going to happen and I hope I get proven wrong.Group 5 - FlyingOne of the easier groups to call, I can simply see Flying demolishing it.Group 6 - YellOw[ArnC]Not unlike last group, I can see one player just overpowering everyone else in it, and it's YellOw[ArnC].Group 7 - go.goAs much as I want to give this group to ggaemo, our lord go.go is just better than him. Tough luck for one of our favourite OZ players.Group 8 - GrapeWhile many people will say that sKyHigh, or even YellOw, has this group, Grape has gotten a lot stronger as we've seen recently. This upset is more likely that you may think.Group 9 - ReachLegend of the Fall will continue during the winter as Reach musters his force for one final attack on the leagues.Group 10 - ActionAction has been doing well recently, in fact he's been doing so well, that I'm going to go ahead and say that he's the favourite in his group.Group 11 - VioletAgain, a somewhat easy group to call, Violet's advantage here is simply overwhelming.Group 12 - greatIt's unclear whether great or much would win this, at least Much can't be sent into retirement while he's still in the military. I think.Group 13 - firebatheroOur favourite BM terran has been on a tear in Winner's league lately, scoring two 3-kills, making him the easy choice for this group. Group 14 - MindOne of the groups that have a decent upset potential, however I feel that Mind will be able to beat Clare solely based on experience in the end.Group 15 - FrOzeanWe have Horang2 coming from the top. We have FrOzen coming from the bottom. Expect an epic cheese series, with FrOzen coming out on top 2-1. After all, he can make his strategic plays work against Bisu, while Horang2 still has some problems in that department.Group 16 - ShuttleIf DarkElf doesn't manage to beat Shuttle, I feel like he's going to win the group. We'll most likely have Pusan coming from the top, and I just don't see him beating Shuttle, sadly. Still, there's always the possibility of DarkElf pulling out something, but it's unlikely.Group 17 - 815This group is as clear as a muddy pool in foggy weather. The main contenders are HyuN and 815 respectively, but it's not outside of Classic or even PerfectMan's reach to pull an upset here. Overall, there should be some close games in this group, possibly making it one of the more interesting ones to watch.Group 18 - LomoLomo should be feeling somewhat uncomfortable here, but as long as the other two Terrans get sniped before they reach him, he should be in good shape to take the group.Group 19 - KillerKiller is actually quite the strong player so he should be able to sweep this without much trouble.Group 20 - IdrAGiven that IdrA has been getting a lot of PvT games in the PokerStrategy.com TeamLiquid StarLeague, and his team has been helping him practice hardcore for those (more hardcore than usual, that is) I'd say he's the clear favourite in this group. Surprisingly, his biggest trouble might be Jaehoon, who actually performed quite decent recently. SangHo and BoxeR should be able to still give a decent fight in theory, so in my opinion this will be the most interesting group of the night without doubt, and not just for the white guy playing in it. | ||
