lmao no OZ people, OZ gets no love for their antics xD (i don't have much faith either...until hopefully the rest of OZ realizes how suckish they areand actually try to improve and tap into wahtever limited potential they have D
Skyhigh isn't himself lately. Of course deep down he's still a TvT monster, but like Rachel Dawes once said "It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you". If Hiya doesn't make silly mistakes, he can definitely take this. I don't think Skyhigh can get out of his current slump by tomorrow.
(2) Savior > Jaedong:
No explanation needed. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the many Jaedong fanboys as well, but the idea of Savior beating Jaedong is just too good to not hope for.
(3) Effort > Perfectman:
Seriously? Perfectman? Against Effort?
(4) Movie > Killer: Movie just lost to hero yesterday, but hero is quite a ZvP expert (isn't he? He took down Bisu). Killer, on the other hand, is Oz's ACE!!! So it's only logical that Movie will trash Killer.
If this goes to ace (which i doubt), I doubt Oz will send out Jaedong, maybe we'll get to see Hiya or Lomo on Match Point. As for CJ, I think it's gonna be Movie.
Oz has a pretty good chance of taking this home. Sadly the Maestro keeps getting zvz's so Jaedong will take his win without big problems. Skyhigh has been pretty shaky last seasons but this season he's been quite terrible so Hiy could take the first game aswell.
It all depends on wether Jaedong gets to play the ace or not.

Savior over JD? Predictions are what you think will happen, not what you want to happen. As hard as it is to accept saviors completly done, and hes been done for a while
Also, 3:1 CJ. 3:2 if skyhigh loses (I'd give him about 60% chance of victory), because leading experts put the chance of Jaedong actually playing an ace match at about 15%.
Even if he does, I'm willing to bet either effort or movie could take him down.
effort will take ace because oz will send out killer or some idiot like lomo or backho. even if they do send jaedong, his zvz is in the shithole for some reason and despite losing to shine cj should take this 3-2 with skyhigh and savior dropping their matches.
i think oz has a good chance of bringing this to ace: jaedong will win his game and hiya/skyhigh and killer/movie are both tossups. it's once again only a question of which poor soul coach cho chooses to sacrifice for set 5 again...

Killer-Movie is a tossup?... you must A) be delusional or B) have not seen any of Killer's recent games Killler is 2-7 in proleague, and one win was a ZvZ win against hogil, he of the 20% ZvZ win rate

Savior can only win if he basically all-ins with zerglings.
If jaedong goes 12 hatch this game he is an absolute moron for not understanding how the game is basically over the second his first muta gets in the air.

: / he just switched up the placing
i really doubt he was confused
the predictions said CJ 3-0 when he had skyhigh losing
anyway i hope everything goes according to predictions CJ fighting!
Let's look at likely candidates for CJ to send on Fighting Spirit.
With a sensible choice of Skyhigh on Moon Glaive and Effort on Outsider, this map was Savior's best chance to avoid zerg. And Jaedong was pretty much a sure bet on either Outsider or Tornado.
Considering this evidence and the previous OZ ace selections, the only logical conclusion is that Coach Cho's decisions are made by magic 8 ball.

Why be an asshole? ALOT of people predict things they want to happen, and the hope translates to what they think will happen. Look at some bias ops. Why don't you point them out. Predicting a jaedong loss in ZvZ right now isn't that bad, even to savior. Savior isnt complete shit. He gets more shit than others because he once was great and now isn't.
Jangbi and ForGG get the same treatment. They are great players and get treated like shit because they are slumping.
Just because savior is not as successful doesn't mean he's completely done. Not like a mediocre zerg has insane amount more chance of being successful.
Zeros ZvZ was extremely shit aswell, and it could only beat savior, then he beat jaedong in that PL match suddenly. That would have been a crazy prediction, but it happened.
Orion, saviors team mate who gets no playtime, beat jaedong in the playoffs. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

imo fOrGG wasn't taht great, he won because of a terran favored map pool
JangBi is like HiyA in a way, if you send him out against a terran he raeps, another protoss ok, zerg he looks like a Fish out of water
sAviOr on the other hand has shown signs of resurgence. he will most likely not win another starleague (although i believe), but proleague he's found a Nice little place and will serve a good captain (better than gasp zerg anyway)
also LOL at how many of my words were tlpd-ized xD
Killer < Movie Stop sending the worst zerg on the planet, and stick with Lomo. Tornado's not that zerg biased.
Oz has already shown that they're not willing to send Jaedong on Match Point, for good reasons. Statistically, Hiya's their best bet to stop Iris/Movie, but even so I doubt he has much of a chance.

Looks like we've got a perfect 3-1CJ setup right here... but who knows, Hiya might win his game since skyhigh hasnt been so hot lately. And then Oz will lose the ACE match by not sending JD.

well then savior should deserve something too.i'll see if i can do anything.
SING, O GODDESS, OF THE TYRANT LEE JAE DONG The killer of legends, bred to consume all foes The Overmind's only son, sent to light the way for us all. Many brave souls had he sent to their graves, Slumping down to the abyss of Hades, never heard from again.
He shouted a challenge to all the assembled hosts, Present on the shores were KTF and SK, ACE, MBC and STX
"I hold this golden mouse, a gift from the gods, Who dares to challenge me? I care not your race"
Mighty Bisu, with fire in his eyes, rose to the challenge from the ranks of his team, onto the field of battle. Terror of the Zerg race from the day of his birth, dipped into the river of good looks and fame At a young age. He smiled and shouted, "From the days of old, When noble GARIMTO battled on the fields of Aiur Protoss has always been the superior race! Your defense is no match, I give it a five You die now, Lee Jae Dong!"
They entered into combat, prodding for weakness Valiant Jaedong, beloved of heaven, eyes like a laser, Spotted an opening. He sent in his zerglings, And struck first blood. But mighty Bisu fought back, Securing his choke point, and pondered the map With the magick of observers, he spotted his enemy, "Not even one sunken colony! What pathetic defense I'll build up a ball and roll him right over!" His strategy now set, he rallied his troops And ordered them forward.
But sAviOr was watching, from high on Olympus God of the Swarm, king of the brood, And deflected the blow
The young protoss shrieked "This map is imbalanced! The sun was in my eyes! Bring back Monty Hall and I'll show you who's best!"
Looking back one last time, he spotted young Fantasy, beloved comrade and sparring partner. As if struck by a bolt of lightling from a summer storm, Bisu sat up in his chair His resolve redoubled. He rallied his forces, From Adun to Shakuras, and pleaded with Fate For the time to recover.
But it was no use; All of the spectators, Korean and foreign Could see the plain truth. Bisu was crippled, His timing attack had failed, and Death sharpened his blade, The outcome all but certain.

skyhigh is slowly inching back into the game. taking control of southwest part of the map will allow him another expansion and a nice route to attack hiyas main
Assuming JD beats savior they will certainly send him out for ace, it's more interesting to wonder who the CJ submission will be. It shows how sad it is to be an oz fan when i've totally written off and forgotten about the 3rd and 4th match.
I honestly cannot believe that ling micro, against like everyone else jaedong ALWAYS comes out on top with ling micro, even with fewer lings, but this time he just got beat at his own game
Omfg! Lol, yet another player to take down Jaedong in ZvZ. I always thought coaches were morons because they kept sending Jaedong Zergs last season, and he just kept pwning them and increasing his win ratio. Not sure why, but they actually started beating him... Wow.

Jaedong's ling micro isn't as good as some people think it is, Effort and Calm proved that, but than again anything can happen in zvz.
Savior has been really good lately. It's great to see. On the other hand, it's sad to see that JD's ZvZ is light years from the JvZ he had a while ago.

Savior always had great micro, he proved that tonight.

No explanation needed. Don't get me wrong, I'm one of the many Jaedong fanboys as well, but the idea of Savior beating Jaedong is just too good to not hope for.

Seriously? Perfectman? Against Effort?

If this goes to ace (which i doubt), I doubt Oz will send out Jaedong, maybe we'll get to see Hiya or Lomo on Match Point. As for CJ, I think it's gonna be Movie.
Edited - Reason: Because Skyhigh is in CJ.
Savior over JD? Predictions are what you think will happen, not what you want to happen. As hard as it is to accept saviors completly done, and hes been done for a while

It's not surprising considering how good Savior looked against Roro (who has very good zvz). zvz all comes down to micro and strategy. Jaedongs muta micro is much better than his ling micro.
I wish Savior would actually frickin celebrate once, I mean he just took down the tyrant and he looks exactly the same as if he was shopping for groceries

it's for the best, i prefer him to be like this to when he was crying to every win he could get

I think what happened in the game is that when Jaedong saw that Savior was also doing 12pool expo, he made 2 drones after expoing. In the absence of scouting, 12pool expo needs to save larvae for lings after expoing, so Jaedong knew Savior would do that. Jaedong was counting on the distance between bases to prevent Savior's lings from doing damage, and then Jaedong would have a slightly superior economy.
I think what went wrong with this is two things: first, once zergling speed finished, Savior's lings arrived at Jaedong's nat very quickly, due to the fairly short rush distance between those adjacent positions on this map; and second, Jaedong wasn't able to fit in as many lings as Savior before spawning his third overlord, because he had 2 drones taking up supply. I believe Savior consciously exploited this timing where he would have 4 more lings than Jaedong.

It was a typical zvz match, intense ling micro though.
No, savior is one of those people that if you're not a fan of, then you're not a fan of starcraft. It should be recommended for everyone!
exactly, just like Lim-Jin-Rok was recommended before being played. Also when a bonjwa beats a KeSPA top 10 (or top 1) it's pretty much default recommended....
Predicting that Savior would beat JD (as in thinking it would happen based on rational reasoning) is pretty dumb. The fact that the prediction was right doesn't mean it wasn't bad.

There's a pretty significant shot chance for a BO win, so predicting anybody to win in a ZvZ is never a horrible guess. I still remember everyone getting so pissed when people predicted that Hyuk would beat effort after taking out Jaedong straight up.
God, I hate perfectman...but he's one gating...but I love CJ...but Perfectman's one gating...but I love effort...but Perfectman's one gating...but I HATE PERFECTMAN...but I love one gate PvZ.
Cautiously neutral. I would not mind if effort lost this, assuming they both play well.
nexus is sniped. Muta ling for Effort, and alot of them. Double gas is up, hive is started. Perfectman missed his window of opportunity. Doesnt even have obs
Perfectman has a lot of potential. A lot. Probably more than Killer. The question is, can Coach Cho make him into a neo-Anytime, or will the potential be wasted?

Letting effort get both the double gases and then watch as he gets an army of ultras. Effort was using devourers ffs!
What Perfectman could legitimately have GGed a good 16 minutes before he did - Effort just screwed around and never gave him an excuse to leave, drawing out the pain really.

yeah I'll have to agree, his decision making at crucial points in that game were great. He was just put in a hard spot when the double gas couldn't be stopped
On November 30 2009 20:05 FireGuyX wrote: Perfectman was doing everything right except he should of been targeting the expansions.
IMO, he needed more reavers, and earlier. It was pretty obvious he wouldn't be able to break Effort's nat without reavers, and his mass goon army composition was going to fail big time as soon as cracklings, swarm, and plague came into play.
wow Lurker drop from close positions. Movie looks like hes going to lose this... Movie gets 10 drones, then loses his third shuttle with templars in it
imo this is one of those good times to send killer for Ace. if he loses its OK since he got them to the ace match anyway. If he wins then he'll probably start to play better with consistency.

Hey, meeple, I don't think you should spoil the first 4 games under the Recommended Games section. In fact, all you did was sum up the games in one line. It's not a summary box, man, and it's not the Results box, either.

meeple?
lol agree about not summing up the games though~_~
Yeah this OP is pretty bad... I just woke up and it kinda took me a while to realize who won each game with the dumb names and all caps for each player.
Anyway, awesome that Oz won but I feel that recently ZvZ isn't as fun to watch anymore. It seems like the person who made more lings wins (JD's first game) or the person with the BO advantage wins (JD's second game). Gone are the days where JD could get away with making less lings due to superior micro or could overcome a BO disadvantage because he understood the matchup better than his opponent. Now I didn't watch the games yet but this is what the games seemed like from reading this thread.

Hey man, that's probably not me... and the guy who made it is probably fairly new to the site and what is expected out of a LR thread, so instead of harping on him just ask him if he could perhaps change the format to not spoil the games

So in other words; because your favourite player doesn't always win, the MU is less fun?
No... JD winning with BO advantage isn't fun either.
I liked seeing JD make a BO disadvantage seem more like an advantage or being super greedy with making drones and still surviving ling battles. That to me is exciting. The player with more lings or the BO advantage winning 90% of the time isn't really fun for me to watch even if it's my favorite player winning.
So, because others have gained the same understanding for the MU so that JD can no longer ''overcome a BO disadvantage because he understood the matchup better than his opponents'', ZvZ is lame?

Yeah pretty much... Well not really lame but not as fun to watch.
ZvZ gets more annoying every day. Not only does it get less epic and more fast paced, it becomes more and more fickle every day (missmicro your starting drones and you'll probably lose the fucking game).
Oh well, at least JD made up for it with a win against a good player.
why put spoilers inside the "recommended games"? i know it says "show spoiler", but i dont want to know results of good games. if i wanted results i would click at "results".
i now realize that i've made some serious mistakes in the op.thnx to the mods for fixing it up in my absence and thnx a lot you guys for pointing out my flaws.sorry about all of this. hope it'll never happen again.
LoL Jaedong lost to Savior and then beat effort in Ace match . Something is very wrong with ZvZ this past few months i can't get what exactly is that ... All top zergs seems to lose/win like a roller coaster and Hyuk of all people was/ "is?" winning alot and Jaedong isn't autovote in ZvZ anymore atleast not in PL .
I don't think Jaedong's understanding of ZvZ is higher than the other high level Zergs anymore. The difference between his micro and other Zergs isn't day and night anymore either. This phase right now is actually really exciting.

unfortunately now that jaedong has fully expanded on each micro technique and the ways to make A build beat B build although A was better there is a viewable skill ceiling in zvz. Jaedong brought the sharpest micro and understanding too zvz but now alot of zergs have practiced enough to start catching up. As time goes his heroic z v z stats will continue to shrink =(.
mastering a matchup gives other players something too reach for and oh my god have zergs wooped ass lately!
Please, let us get this straight. The only reason sAviOr won is because the game never got into the muta/scourge stage. If you have watched all of sAviOrs ZvZ games like I have you will know that he has simply substandard (on the Pro level) muta micro. He doesn't know how to position them during a match, and he cannot snipe scourge. He just takes the hit and hopes he can outnumber his opponent. If you upload even his last 10 ZvZ games, you will see that he always attempts to snipe scourge but he just can't; he ends losing mutas and the game usually there after.
His zergling micro however, is really amazing; it is just the best I have seen of all the ZvZ games around. I do not know how many times I have seen him win ling battles even when he may have been down 2, 4 or 6 lings even. He knows how to position them, he knows how fight with them, he knows how to manage his resources/larvae in his production of them. In last year's MSL, the only game he beat ZerO on was the one that didn't get into the muta stage. On the game he won, he won because of his ling micro. The other games went into the muta stage.
I won't say that sAviOr is a better zerg player, but as far as this game goes, I think sAviOr did just outplay Jaedong. sAviOr didn't use some cheap strategy, like all in lings (he did start his spire and was mining gas). He didn't catch Jaedong in an opening (one of those openings that last for a second or two where, for example you can sneak lings in, or your oponent's armies are split, templar are alone, etc.). Both players had the same strategy. sAviOr spent more on lings, but because he had to run them across the map, ling count was usually equal between the players. And then what happened? Things were fairly even and sAviOr won. That is as straight as it gets. (If Jaedong had only bunkered up a bit more until his mutalisks came out, I'm sure they would chase away the lings and mop up any fail-lisks coming out for sAviOr. I'm fairly positive of this.)
On the side, I'd like to note that this is nothing new. For the past year, sAviOr has had the same pluses and minuses. I'm never encouraged by a win by sAviOr when there is no concurrent increase and development in his form. Really, I'd rather see him lose, but play an awesome game with great form than win, even against Jaedong or Flash or Bisu.
(I should add that I am not a fan of either player; I only study zerg progamers.)
