CSL+ Exhibition Match: Caltech vs MIT
November 14, 2009: 6:00pm EST/3:00pm PST
Caltech vs MIT. It is a rivalry that has lasted 120 years and produced 107 Nobel laureates. Recently it has involved prank T-shirts, scavenger hunts, and the theft of a certain cannon. Now, for the first time ever, these two schools will clash on the fields of Starcraft in not one, but two epic Bo7s. It is the only way to decide this rivalry. Blood will be spilled and victory shouts will be heard, with the pride of the schools at stake.
Team Interviews
Caltech Coordinator Oxidized:

- Could you give us your view of the rivalry between Caltech and MIT?
▲ It's only called a "rivalry" when the two sides are approximately equal. The correct term is "noobstomp." 
- What do you think of this format with 2 Bo7s and potentially 14 players?
▲ We had trouble finding fourteen players who were bad enough to give MIT a fair shot. 
- How have you and your team prepared for this match?
▲ We've prepared 21 shots of vodka per player to make the matches a little more even. ^^
- What do you think is your biggest advantage and disadvantage against the other team?
▲ Biggest Advantage: We have better strategies, higher APM, better game sense, better timing, our probes mine faster, our scarabs don't bug, and our zerglings come with adrenal glands.
Biggest Disadvantage: Unlike MIT players, our players are too busy getting laid to practice. =/
- What do you think the results of this match will be?
▲ 13-1. We'll give them a game because we feel sorry for them. >_<
- Any last words for your opponents?

▲ Once we stole their famous cannon. Umm... and Caltech has like a 30% female-male ratio.
- What do you think of this format with 2 Bo7s and potentially 14 players?
▲ It will take a long time. And we might win. Twice. Does give everyone a chance to play though, which is nice.
- How have you and your team prepared for this match?
▲ A rigorous training process in which every team member wakes up and recites his build order while facing the rising sun. They then go to class while pretending to be a drone. Also, sometimes we try to practice, but it usually ends up just turning into two hours of UMS Cat & Mouse games.
- What do you think is your biggest advantage and disadvantage against the other team?
▲ Biggest Advantage: We have less pent-up sexual frustration.
Biggest Disadvantage: We somehow lost to Harvard.
- What do you think the results of this match will be?
▲ Hard to say. I haven't really been keeping up with the Western Conference matches / replays, so I don't have a good sense of how good the Caltech team is. Plus, this is also a Bo7 with an un-battletested B-team My prediction is our A team will do well (read: rape face), and our B team will fare decently well against Caltech. Unless of course someone decides to stack the teams.
- Any last words for your opponents?

clarification: B team games are not being streamed since they will be played in parallel with A team games (so it doesn't take forever to finish this).
edit: hold on, not sure yet. Will update this post when I know what we are doing for sure.
edit2: looks like we are doing B team first, then A team. Xeris can decide whether or not he wants to stream all of them.

90% of Caltech students didn't mind that the cannon was taken. In fact, some of us were happy about it.

A few Caltech students flew over to Cambridge and were putting up SOLD signs along the famous MIT Dome where all the hacks are done. In the newspaper they were planning to hand out, it said that MIT was sold to Caltech and it would be the new Caltech East Campus. The rest of the newspaper is just trash talking MIT and how they should strive to work harder and transfer to Caltech because it was a real college. Apparently this was planned out quite well and a lot of effort went into it.
Then someone made a noise and the MIT security caught them.
