The deal is this: Netolic was giving me a CRAZY deal, like $100 for 8 hours of play for our entire group (because the dude was really supportive of hosting a SC tourney and he said they don't have much business during the day anyways and I said I would provide all the administration, etc)... this would have allowed me to have a crazy prize pool (about $600+ with a $25 entry fee as I usually do for my LAN events). That coupled with Smuft's $500 was going to make for an absolutely crazy experience. Obviously, this isn't working out, as I called Netolic 1.5 weeks ago and the owner said they were closing the store down to re-locate... So I feel as if I let people down, especially people that have flown out: I'm really sorry to Game, Semih (although you probably would have come anyways), JoeKim (same as Semih, you're both awesome), and REALLY sorry to Machine - I can't express in words how sorry I am for Bryce, especially because he literally paid for the IEF trip out of his own pocket in addition to this... So, I decided that it'd be better to make this LAN with a slightly lighter atmosphere (see the lower entry fee and not-using of Smuft's $500). The reason behind that is because I don't want to spend this sponsored money on such a disappointing place as Seoul PC. In addition, the fact that I'm not getting a special deal here will drastically decrease the prize pool anyways, so it wouldn't have been the same thing. I will remedy this! I'm going to plan a LAN - probably in December or January. This will probably be a BYOC, because I'm looking at using a big hall-like space rather than a LAN center. The benefits of this are: a) not sharing space with chain-smoking fuckers, or fatass WoW players, etc b) we get our own BW space (where I can put up awesome banners and such! c) 100% of entry fee can go to the prize pool d) no motherfucker is gonna cancel shit on me 1 week before the event The cons: a) it's BYOC b) it's BYOC I'm going to be working out details and doing some hardcore planning in the next 1-2 weeks, by which time I will make an announcement. I'm also going to look to get actual sponsors for this so I can make it even more awesome. So please stay tuned, I'm going to be trying my absolute best to make up for this failure with something that will be even more awesome. I feel like I've let quite a few people down, and I'm really sorry and I still feel terrible even though this news hit me over a week ago. Although I'm sure tomorrow will be a ton of fun, I know it's just disappointing because it won't work out the way I wanted. So again, I'm eternally sorry, but I'm going to make up for it!
