True, but I would feel better about it if I was traveling from the other end of the orange line or something and it was a "/" instead. Times like these I wish I could drive, or randomly build purple lines when I need them.

Still no email. I will be calling them tonight if CaucasianAsian didn't talk to them today. Also, updated op. I am thinking against the buy-in because it seems kind of pointless for a D- player or something to want to buy in to a tournament they know they'll lose on the first round.

Btw for the NIHers, I'm in Building 10 Room 8C118. We should meet up sometime

dshg ok. i'll go tomorrow 100%. Talk to them, ask them about groups etc... and possibly reserving a few computers. Then i'll also take a few pictures.

Meh I've been going to lunch very late recently (like 2-3) so B1 is closed so I just go get lunch at floor 2 and all lonely by myself xD. I only have eaten at B1 once before. Some of their stuff is pretty expensive and not that good, but I don't have any good alternative so I have to buy it anyways. I will go to B1 tomorrow but I don't know if I can get there on time

You're talking about building 10's cafeteria right?

And at CaucasianAsian: I guess you can go tomorrow, I'll call them tonight though just to see what's up I guess. I just don't know if their English will be good enough for me to communicate xD.

btw you guys hear about the metro? :O that better not happen on the day of our LAN!!!! >

CaucasianAsian said he would go talk to the SeoulPC owners and take some pictures, so I'm waiting for that until now. Expect the LAN to be most likely July 11th or July 18th. We'll probably have the date set by today or tomorrow.

i talked to them today, forgot the batteries to my camera T_T.

But I asked them about reserving computers for it, and they asked how many people would most likely be showing up. I didn't have an exact number so I said something like 10-20 people. They said that was too many people to reserve computers for, but if we're going to get there early (around noon-ish - one) then there should not be a problem getting everyone a computer as there about 40 computers there, and most people who come, come later around 6:00.

The price for it is $2/hr, and no discount for large groups.
Every computer has starcraft installed, and LAN capable.

There is a semi-new korean BBQ place across the street (anyone who lives in the area and knows where Ribsters was, that's it) and a korean BBQ buffet down the road (i've been to the buffet one personally, and can attest to that it is good, can't remember the price though).

Thanks for putting the effort into getting this going Suppy. The 11th or the 18th would work for me, but it sounds like more people want to do the 11th.

Getting together somewhere for food sounds good as well, I would be down for just about anywhere, but there is a sushi place down the road that I love called Yamazato.

The rate at Seoul PC sounds more like it. Is it too far for anyone? I could probably give people a ride from the metro if people are metroing in. The closest stop is the Dunn Loring stop on the orange line.

I'd be willing to throw $20 towards the pot for a tournament. I agree that it's probably not the best idea to make everyone buy in.

For those that are 21, we could grab a drink afterwards someplace in Arlington or Alexandria.

d3_crescentia and I will probably be one of those stranded in Dunn Loring and would really appreciate a ride from the metro station if possible. July 11 and 18 work for both of us.

I vote Seoul PC. Place sounds pimp, $2/hr is awesome. I'll definitely be there.

Could possibly give ride for a couple ppl if anyone needs coming from the chantilly/fairfax area into Annandale. PM if ur interested I'll be there for the whole thing. Got 3 seats.

Dunn Loring is on the way from my house to Seoul PC, so I may be able to contribute to transportation if needed. I'm planning to bring one, maybe two, of my friends though, so I might not be the best man for the job.

Thank you CaucasianAsian for getting the information! SeoulPC is a lot cheaper than the other one so I think that's about finalized. I will post a temporary plan in this post and update the OP tomorrow with all the final changes. Looks like this LAN will be happening 100% :D It'll be fun.

What we are looking at:

Saturday, July 11th

Where: SEOUL PC Gaming Center

When: 1:30 PM - we will be having dinner at Korean BBQ so bring some money for yourself to eat. Also, probably bring about $16 for the PC center costs. (8 hours will take us probably to 11 PM or so if you calculate the 1-2 hour for dinner, you guys think this is about good?)

There will probably be a tournament (preferably double-elim, but only if we have enough time to finish it) with no buy-in and a prize pool. So far me and Loophole are willing to contribute $15-$20 to the prizepool so we are looking at $30-$40 total so far.
