I started to read it, but had to stop. Have u ever gotten laid?

This is why TL will always live on because money isn't an issue. Money breaks it all in the end. Mark my words.
See MYM/ToT for example. Which one disbanded?

Thank you TL.net's staff for doing this and keeping this community together!
Thank you for every article, for every report, for the TLPD, for TSL but most of all - for being such an awesome bunch of people!
Thank you!

Oh btw... all this non-corporate talk but what do I see as an ad on top? LESBIAN PIRATES FROM OUTER SPACE!
I think Kennigit made a deal with those bloody lesbian pirates, savvy?
Maybe Rekrul knows what's going on with that, him liking all those lesbian pirates and all, right?
Will they take over TL? Who knows

it's a honor to spend a few hours every day. i contribute by clicking on the banner all the time :D Project Wonderful, the ad system TL uses has banners paid for each day via a system where people bid for 24hrs of ad time on the webpage. The amount doesn't change whether you click/see the ads or not. So if you're so inclined, you can just block them. You're not actually earning revenue by clicking the ads.

What is the drama with sc2gg about?
|
A nice insight into a side I've wasted so many hours at it's getting ridiculous. It's nice to see that TL has survived and stayed awesome ever since late 2004 when I first visited. Keep up the awesome work
|
From what I understand of Project Wonderful though, it does rank the websites either by impressions or clickthroughs, or both? So in some sense, either coming to TL a lot or clicking the ads a lot should help The cost for the ad might not go up, but more people would want to bid for the ad if the ad-space is more lucrative.

Awesome OP and awesome thread. loved reading through the entire 9 pages during my APCS class ^_^

They heard about TSL, and without any preamble, they came to me and said:
Donkey- Let's nto beat around the bush. We want to buy your site. ManifestoCrusher- Um, we play starcraft, not xbox. Donkey- That's ok. We will make it huge. ManifestoCrusher- Um, we don't even have a sponsor for the tournament yet. Would you be interested in a sponsorship deal? We could work out some sweet exposure for you. Donkey- We just want to buy the site. What is your business model?ManifestoCrusher- Our what? Donkey- How much do you get paid a month? ManifestoCrusher- Um, nobody gets paid. It is a volunteer site. Donkey- Yeah but how much do you MAKE? ManifestoCrusher- We pay our server fees with google ads and sometimes we make shirts. We don't make a profit though. Donkey- I'll buy your site. You know, I can't pay a lot, ut I could give you a few bucks for the domain and create a paid position. ManifestoCrusher- But we have about 30 staff. Who gets the money. Donkey- It could just be between you and me. ManifestoCrusher- ... Donkey- So how much for the site? ManifestoCrusher- One million dollars. Donkey has left the chat.
LOL. I read this before it was on the front news. Funny article. Although it makes you appreciate the work that the tl.net staff does since it's all volunteer work!
