두 선수는 지난 2008년 12월 1일부터 12일까지 진행된 ‘08년 12월 공군 모집계획’을 통해 e스포츠병 모집에 응시했고, 12월 23일 1차 합격자 발표 이후 신체검사와 면접, 실기 시험을 거쳐 지난 23일 최종합격자로 선발됐다.
이에 따라 두 선수는 오는 2월 16일 진주 공군교육사령부로 입대가 결정, 7주간의 기초 군사교육훈련을 마치고 자대 배치와 공군 에이스 팀 합류 등의 일정을 치르게 된다.
합격자 발표 이후 입영통지서를 수령한 서지훈은 “공군 합격자 통보를 받고 입영통지서를 수령하니 군 입대가 실감난다”는 소감을 말한 뒤 “최근에는 시간이 더욱 빨리 흐르는 것 같다. 군 입대 전 마무리 시간을 가지면서 서서히 군 입대를 준비하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
Xellos-Gorush enters airforce on 2/16/09
"The Perfect Terran" Seo Ji Hoon (Xellos) of CJ and "Magician of Gameflow Management" Park Tae Min (Gorush) will be entering military service at the Jin-Ju Airforce Academy on February 16th.
These two players have started the application process during the "2008 December Airforce Entry Period" which was held between 12/1 to 12/12. After they got through the first round of the application process, they did physical testing, interviews, and the real-life test (might be a typo - it might also mean "written test"), and was accepted into the academy on the 23rd.
These two players have decided to enlist into the airforce on the 16th of February, and after 7 weeks of basic training, they will be able to enter into their platoon and join Airforce ACE.
After receiving the acceptance notification and signing official enlisting contract, Seo Ji Hoon commented: "After I was notified of my acceptance and signed the contract, going into the army finally hit me as being the reality.", and "Time seems to go faster now. I will get my things together before I enlist and slowly prepare for the army."

Wow, I had no idea. Xellos going is a huge shock to me. I guess I should have realized that he's getting towards that age, but it's still a surprise. Hopefully we can see perfection once more, but this time from Ace.

Its strange how the team many have had dreams about has formed, all of the big old names in the same team, practicing with eachother
and it suddenly isn't awesome .. not even a bit cool, ACE is like a graveyard for the old top names.

Actually, I think the team will probably get better. Like Boxer said in an interview, they did have enough practice but they just didn't have anyone to practice with. With more players entering they will have more players to practice with probably increasing the skill level.
Anytime has been doing well, probably better than he was in Lecaf?

probably so.. i remember hearing from a daniel lee vod that they practice a lot more now. can't remember exactly how many hours they get nowadays, but super daniel said it in some ace proleague vod ;;

Yeah I think there's a chance we may actually see some good results from ACE. I hope Xellos and/or GoRush find some inspiration as it sounded like Anytime did. It's too bad they don't really have any practice team though, I wish they could work something out to get one.
Imagine these guys being on the same team in like 2005 though...that would have been absurd.

Well they just lost Boxer and Mumyung and picked up Xellos and GoRush so...not counting the other slightly less "recent" acquisitions they pretty much just broke even.

Are you serious? It's expected to interpret that as practice hours. Enough normally refers to quantity (hours) rather than quality (players). You don't refer to more players as enough practice usually.
Unless it's a lost in translation type of thing.

Most of Ace's players were amazing at their peak, but haven't played at that level in ages. Anytime is the only real exception.
I still think they should be able to win a couple of matches thanks to the Winners League format though.

I think 실기 시험 refers to practical [physical] test (in contrast to 필기 시험 written test)?

ACE seems like it will be an amazing team. The fact is, though, that I doubt they will be doing to well. Possibly not last place anymore, but they truly are only good on paper. Then again, it has only been a few months since  Reach and Anytime have been on the team. I could be proven completely wrong once  GoRush and  XellOs join.

ACE is going stronger and stronger. XellOs maybe is not so good anymore, but GoRush can win games.

Well in any case, unless they get "THE" top players of Korean Progamers of today (eg. Bisu, Jaedong, Flash, Savior [yes savior]), Ace still has a LONG WAY to go to be #1......
then again, by the time those guys go to ACE, they might become washed away has been..... but I doubt it'll significantlly create an all mighty powerful team.....

Everyone is saying how ACE will still be terrible with the addition of more washed up pros to its roster - but here's what my line of thinking is: ACE cannot possibly be worse with these newcomers than it was before. So they may actually get slightly better. How much worse can you be than they already are, really?

ACE has actually been putting up as much a fight as any decent team in the WL. With Xellos, Casy, their terran line up will be on par with Anytime and Reach. They, like STK, lack a decent zerg. Now Gorush isn't the best, but he is better then Myumung.
I mean, the 'winningest' person pre-Anytime on the team was Boxer. And given the way Boxer was playing at that period, it is really unfair to judge ACE pre anytime.

I think it's going to be quite good. It was painful to watch Sunny against Flash, this gives them a few more viable options for a 4th player in any given match. Not to mention Casy is situational as a 3rd player.

Actually, I think that ACE will be rockstars if they start using sc2 in proleague right when it comes out. They get all of the old players, that everyone knows can innovate. These guys (gorush, xellos, boxer, oversky, etc) already have innovated, and they can obviously can do it again in a new game. Totally beside the point though.
Oversky was pretty good as well back in the day, and he won a ton of games. I think that he's a lot better player when he has time to prepare, and he's not that great of a player when he doesn't even know what kind of matchup he's going to play.
xellos and gorush. Pretty cool. I hope that they can find some of their old form, and we can see some good games out of them
