That's basically what it is.

OGN had several leagues for other RTS games like Jurassic War, Seven Years War, Age of Mythology, Command and Conquer, Atrox and of course Warcraft. Actually, a lot of SC progamers also played in leagues for these games, too. BlueK, Lovedom, Elky, Skelton, Anyppi, ect all played in leagues for other games while they were SC progamers.

cool interview.. i usually prefer these over progamer interviews, since most progamers frankly aren't very interesting. as artosis would say, a lot of these guys are just robots =o

would be nice if he could post on TL, but tbh a lot of fomos articles get translated by scforall anyway, so It's not like he'd have to post a bunch of news in english or something.

well i think theres a ton of passionate fans in korea, but like he said in the interview - atm there is a ton of ppl watching sc for reasons unrelated to the strategic depth of sc.. for example, I saw a vod on scforall where Daniel Lee said that most sc fans in korea atm are actually female. from what I gather though - starcraft is not a popular game to play among korean females(they generally prefer to play FPS moreso than SC), but they might become a big fan of a certain player, due to his looks or perhaps personality and just get caught up in cheering for him and following his stardom.

The hardcore sc fans(mostly male, although there are a lot of casual male fans too), just love the game.. and although they probably have favourites of who they want to win a certain match - they're watching because they enjoy watching sc matches as much if not more than they enjoy watching other sports or even full featured films. The games take on a whole new meaning for us hardcore fans, we tend to understand more of the psychology and strategic aspect of the game, since we've played it.. and therefore we can enjoy it on a deeper level, rather than only enjoying starcraft when our favourite player or team might be playing.

that is mostly what i've gathered in talking in depth with koreans, and also watching daniel lee vods anyway :O
