Is the Stork hype that bad that people don't even know who he's playing? Stork had almost only hate from TL until the last week or so. Fantasy however has been getting love and hype all along.

In the early years there are little protoss and zerg powerhouses and some of the strats are not uncovered yet. Oov and nada dominated because they pioneered the macro game. Now everyone in top 30 KeSPA can macro and micro like them in the past. Definitely sc has become much more competitive. No one will stay long at No.1, the longest will be only 3 months due to OSL/MSL win.

The Lakers in the finals last season made that series infintely more interesting than a Celtics vs Hornets finals except to maybe a basketball purist. And the NY Giants beating the undefeated (at the time) cheaters New England Patriots made that superbowl great. Sports needs heroes and villains because that's what fans like to see. I think SC is slowly losing that with one hit wonder starleague winners like Forgg and Mind (although I love Mind for what he did) and JD and Flash getting cheesed out of starleagues. And they are getting cheesed because there is so much parity that depending on map and positions, even the top players cannot afford to play too safe and that leaves them vulnerable to cheese. Stork winning the OSL is a good thing for SC.

Its not like Federer/Nadal in tennis where 1 style dominates all.

Due to the counter for every strat in sc, this will occur. No strat is safe to win forever. In order to dominate, they need variety and all-round play which Stork demonstrates. Despite protoss being the weakest race who are forced to be aggressive, he still can be so consistent in it. Look at savior or bisu, they were reliant on 1 build to win their titles and gone very fast because people are countering it. Its not like Federer/Nadal in tennis where 1 style dominates all.

Kudos to them for pioneering and therefore be installed into lengendary status. But if they play using their past strengths now, they are overrated. The reason why they were so dominant was because they innovated. Yes, oov at least had the past strength of outmacroing his opponents, but boxer has continually come back by innovating and changing the way sc bw is played again and again. Why are people afraid of boxer, enthralled by boxer, love boxer, and watch every single one of his games? Because they expect him to innovate again, and show the world yet another strat that will lead to Terran domination. Because they haven shown in the past to be innovative, it's hard to say that they are over rated. Same with flash- he found an innovation, executed better than everyone else, and rose to dominance until people figured out how to beat him (sometimes).
