Maybe because hes one of the worse representatives for the foreign scene, imagine if we had Draco or Handy over there, much more friendly and charismatic.

Draco had his chance. I really can't understand all this negativity either. Just cheer for him!

He was too cocky. "Oh, I should be the favorite, I'm the best foreigner obviously because I practice 12 hours and others only can get 4 hours max. I'm definitely the favorite to win the WCG USA". It was too cocky. Although he does get more practice time, he did lose in Spirit, which is totally embarrassing, as well there are several top foreigners that I bet could contest his claim. Even if he WAS, unarguably the best foreigner, you shouldn't be making arrogant statements like these. On top of the fact that he is arguably NOT the best foreigner, this is going to lead to some flames.

It's not too cocky at all, it's a perfectly realistic assessment of WCG USA, and nearly every participant in the USA final agrees.

Oh god, people get upset of the dumbest shit.

I don't see any arrogance over Idra wether he was a BMer before or not he seems like a normal guy when talking to Artosis.
And no he didn't call Poland and Germany dumb, he said the people who think Poland and Germany are the best SC countries, are dumb.

Hey Greg, you look tired man, don't overwork yourself that shit can make everything alot tougher. Good luck in CJ, I'll be looking forward to seeing you take down some korean superstars.

Yea that looks just like Kang Min... amazing game sense... and uses mind games well, but has the micro of a washed up progamer.

I don't really think there is a failing at this point, he kind of already made it IMO. Hopefully another foreigner gets to go soon too and try his hand at Korea.

I think there's probably 5 or so foreigners that could go 50/50 in any house in Korea. Draco was probably 50/50 in OGN before he left.

I seriously doubt it.

Draco said in an interview that he was in the upper half of OGN before he left. Which means anyone that can go toe to toe with Draco now probably has a shot at going 50/50 in the OGN house. JF, Mondragon, Idra, Draco, and Nony right now could all vie for being "better than Draco".

In reality, it's all just theorycraft. We're just setting up imaginary matchups between foreigners on good days and Koreans on good days and we could argue for pages and pages over threads and threads. Which we have.

draco was the undisputed best foreigner before he left (only testie, sen and maybe mondragon were close) and certainly the best foreigner when he got back

there are lots of koreans who spend years in practice houses and never really go anywhere
talent is just as important as practice

I dont think you can say that any foreigner will get better than 50/50 after a year spent at the house

Dunno if this was posted before, but if this was an effort to spread foreigners, does this mean there will be more foreigners in Korea soon? Interesting.

It's not too cocky at all, it's a perfectly realistic assessment of WCG USA, and nearly every participant in the USA final agrees.

Maybe, but lots of people agree with the viewpoint that I stated. I was just trying to explain why some people thought he was too cocky. I don't care if it was a realistic assessment or not, it was rude in my opinion. If you look in this thread, the WCG USA National Finals, you can see that many people put Yosh ahead of Idra, some people put Nony in front of Idra, etc. It's not right to be completely disregarding opinions of others, "I'm definitely the favorite".

I wish Idra luck, and hope he does well, as I've said before, but all I want is him to not be TOO confident that he comes off as arrogant and cocky to some people. He should be confident, though. Maybe lots of people don't find him arrogant or cocky in his interview, but if he appears arrogant / cocky to more than 30% of people, there's something that needs to be fixed.

Just because a few people put him ahead doesn't stop him from being the favourite

being "the favourite" means the majority expects him to win

and they do

and no, there is nothing that needs to be fixed. It's a completely healthy mindset and hands down the best one to have when you're doing something like idra's doing - confidence is required. If he's disillusioned or feels unsure about what he's doing at all it's going to chip away at him til he finally quits, like Draco. Do you honestly think he gives two fucks about what a bunch of randoms on TL think of him anyway? There are always going to be haters and there are always going to be sheltered fools who expect his interview to be 100% respectful to everything rather than what he actually thinks

Ok, IdrA IS definitely the favourite to win WCG USA. This is nothing against ANY of the players competing, but simply because some people think Nony or Yosh are more likely to win doesn't make that accurate. I don't see how "disregarding their opinion" comes into it. Those people are wrong.

I never really liked IdrA. This interview made me really unconfortable, dunno why. Find him really dry, as I find his gamestyle is.

I would actually be quite happy to see another player win the WCG USA.

If idra puts up results I could care less about his absent personality. Which is just like anybody else who plays video games 10 or more hours a day surrounded with people speaking a langauge you do not.

90% of the korean pro's are 100% boring in everyway. Their interviews for the most part suck, because outside of pro gamming they don't have time to do much.

He was doing it on purpose with Dans encouragement. Look at the name of the link. They were TRYING to stirr things up. I feel bad for every moron who actually responded in anger to a MOCK interview. It was done to get a laugh off of you guys!

P.S Nony CRUSH HIM PLEASE, if there is any type of meditation or prayer I can say for you just ask, I'm down. Cost him a flight and then join him in korea!

Idra clearly burned his old Estro team in that one. Ouch.

It'd be cool if he had a blog of some sort so that we'd know more about what happens while he practices for these teams. Really interested about CJ Entus style and the people in it. That way we wouldn't have to wait months for interviews
