I think I can see why Idra "toughened" up, because now hes moving up to the big boys w/ CJ. Sure CJ was 9th in the PL, but with the calibur of the team, they could easily be in the post-season picture. Besides, CJ is a much tougher team, not a piece of cake like Estro. Im sorry but I cant think of anyone currently on the Estro team sorry ^^. I only knew Idra.

Same Face new Place... new attitude. Idra hwaiting!

So that interview was like a joke right? Cuz he did sound alittle cocky at times, and his voice was indifferent to everything.

He was too cocky. "Oh, I should be the favorite, I'm the best foreigner obviously because I practice 12 hours and others only can get 4 hours max. I'm definitely the favorite to win the WCG USA". It was too cocky. Although he does get more practice time, he did lose in Spirit, which is totally embarrassing, as well there are several top foreigners that I bet could contest his claim. Even if he WAS, unarguably the best foreigner, you shouldn't be making arrogant statements like these. On top of the fact that he is arguably NOT the best foreigner, this is going to lead to some flames.

What was cocky about that? You'd have to be retarded to think he doesn't have a ridiculous leg up over everyone else not to mention he was already one of the best players in the US BEFORE going to Korea. He IS unarguably the favourite to win it. He knows it, you know it, why beat around the bush? One of the few things I like about these interviews is the complete honesty, even if that means any attempt at making a joke sails over his head, it's good.

He is definitely not one of the best foreigners. He had no right to be insulting other countries, even if they were jokes, because it's just too cocky. He was NOT the best US foreigner before he left, by far he was not. We will have to see how much he improved, but if he loses to other foreigners (Castro in Spirit) he should not be making absurd, ridiculous claims.

He DOES have the right that he should be proud and confident. But he should not be disregarding any opponents like he did. He is a good player. In fact, a great player. And, although I personally don't think him the best foreigner, he is a good representative with his determination. But it's unacceptable to talk like he did; even if it IS true, it's rude and disgusting. I wish Idra luck, and hope he is successful in his path, but he's got to get rid of this horrible aspect of him.

And for your own sake, I'd think it best for you not to call people retarded when you haven't even been provoked. Completely unnecessary.

I want to see foriegner pro gamer now and then, draco vs idra show match. Get the right people to gather up some money for draco so we can get this shit poppin. My prediction, 3-1 Draco. And i saw somewhere earlier people were doubting draco went 50% in the house, and I'm almost sure he did. He was winning one outta three games when he ENTERED the house if i recall correctly so thinking that he upped his winning percentage by 17 percent while getting pro gamer training isnt that hard to believe.

Interesting how when we talk about Idra's accomplishments, people defensively bring up Draco, but I could see those comments he made riling people up as the words came out of his mouth.

I think some of us expect to much from someone who has been their less than a year. These Koreans seem to start playing younger in a more conducive environment, in there own backyard. Foreigners going over there have to play catch up possibly by a few years.

do you know how much hate draco got from people while he was there and still gets?

its like as soon as someone goes to korea, hes automatically cocky and arrogant and thinks he better than everyone and not really all that good so what the fuck is he doing over there etc

Its fucking pathetic how it happens every time a foreigner is successful

and everytime its these nobodies who show up on the forums to insult the only foreign hope in korea and gossip.

pathetic is really the only word for it

In all honesty most peoples feelings for Idra started way before it was even known he was going to go to korea or anything. Its just his reputation. Most of the media players have it, it tends to bother people. they seem to get a long and dont take it too serious and or understand each other so it works for them, but dont act like hes some Victim and people have feelings for him based on nothing.

exactly

draco got exactly the same treatment idras getting now, and if you actually talk to players who know them/have met them in real life, those people generally say nice thing

people in the foreigner community will sieze on any stray comment to try and tear a player trying to play in korea down

IMO the 2 arent even closely related.

Nobody had problems with anybody going to korea until rekrul went really (maybe smuft caught a bit of shit but I dont remember any of it being widespread) Since then its just been Draco and Idra getting shit really. If draco wasnt from Poland I dont think it would be such a big problem either,In terms of "arrogance" I dont see much of a difference between Fisheye or Draco, the Polish fanbase seems to start a lot of shit on forums

(T)IdrA takes some time out to give us a new interview and tell us what the big important news is that nobody else knows about yet

Artosis: Hello, IdrA.
IdrA: Hi.
Artosis: Nice shirt.
IdrA: Thank you.
Artosis: I heard today's the last day you're gonna be able wear that shirt.
IdrA: Apparently.
Artosis: Why is that?
IdrA: Because I'm moving to CJ tonight.
Artosis: Why is that? What's CJ? Why are you moving to CJ?
IdrA: CJ is a pro team that I've been traded to by eSTRO as part of their effort to spread foreigners to the pro gaming scene.

Artosis: Wow! How do you feel about that? That's big news.
IdrA: Yeah, it is. I'm pretty excited

Artosis: Well I mean CJ, that's a top team. You're gonna be playing with (Z)sAviOr and (T)XellOs and stuff.
IdrA: Yeah, it's pretty insane but it’s cool.

Artosis: Well you know, we know you didn't pass courage yet, but those of you that didn't know, Greg was given his pro license by eSTRO. So I guess you have a lot of good things happening for you right now.
IdrA: Yeah.
Artosis: I would say so, Jesus, so legend has it you were at WWI, CJ staff saw your games versus (P)Stork and thought that you had a lot of potential and picked you up. Confirm?
IdrA: I guess so. I don't really know the thought process behind it, but yeah, I met some of the CJ front guys and they watched me play and we talked a bit.

Artosis: Let's get to the down and dirty here. Which shirt do you like more, eSTRO shirt or CJ shirt?
IdrA: I don't think I’ve seen a CJ shirt yet.
Artosis: Well the previous CJ shirt, think of that one. Which one are you going to look more imposing in in the next WCG?
IdrA: The CJ one I guess. I don't remember what it looks like.

Artosis: Well CJ has two houses: the A team house and the B team house. Any word yet on which one you're going to?
IdrA: They mentioned I might be going to the A team house even though I'm obviously B team because the coaches spend most of the time there and they want me around the coaches but it depends on where they have space for me because I think the A team house is kinda full.
Artosis: So they're really looking at you as a player as opposed to some sort of media spectacle.
IdrA: It sounds like it. I'm not sure why else they would go out and try to trade for me.

Artosis: You know, CJ didn't do so well in Proleague this season; what’d they get, seventh or something?
IdrA: I think they were bottom four, but yeah it was … compared to their last season it was pretty depressing.
Artosis: Yeah, you think you're going to be able to help them raise that up a little bit next season?
IdrA: I don't think they really need any help. They're perennial contenders. They just had an off season; they'll be back on top.

Artosis: Alright, IdrA, say for one second here you do go to the A team house. If you could sit next to any two players, right in the middle of them, who would they be?
IdrA: Well, (T)XellOs obviously, and I dunno maybe (T)DarkElf or (T)TheManiaMST. Just a standard terran that I can learn mechanics and basic play from because (T)XellOs is going to be over my head, and I won't appreciate half the stuff he does.

Artosis: Speaking of (T)XellOs, can you sneak me out some (T)XellOs replays?
IdrA: nah
Artosis: Why not? I'm your friend … long time friend.
IdrA: Yeah, but he's (T)XellOs. That trumps you.
Artosis: Ouch. Well he is (T)XellOs; I can't really argue with that.

Artosis: So in relation to the eSTRO house where is the CJ house?
IdrA: Well the A team house is only 40 seconds away. It's in the same little villa complex thing; it’s just a short walk. I think the B team house is just 10 minutes away from there

Artosis: Are you going to keep in contact with your eSTRO buddies?
IdrA: Yeah, probably talk online and play a little bit. That kind of stuff.
Artosis: That's good. Do they know yet that you're going over there?
IdrA: I don't think so. I was told not to talk about it since they're going to make official news of this soon, so I haven't even told my teammates just to be careful.

Artosis: You think they're going to be jealous of you moving to such a prestigious team?
IdrA: I kinda imagine so, but things are looking up for eSTRO so who knows maybe they have hope.

Artosis: Alright let’s get into some stuff that will stir up some discussion on the forums.
IdrA: No kidding…
Artosis: After Korea, what's the strongest StarCraft country?
IdrA: USA of course.
Artosis: USA… wow… that's a strong statement. A lot of people would say China. What do you have to say to that?
IdrA: I don't know. I play with both, and I think I do worse versus the American players than versus the Chinese players, so that kinda implies USA is harder.

Artosis: What about the people who might think Poland is harder?
IdrA: Well they're kinda dumb because they have (P)(pl)Draco and . . . (P)(pl)Draco.

Artosis: I see and what about the people who Germany is one of the top countries?
IdrA: (Z)(de)Mondragon and three spots to qualify, so yeah they're dumber than Poland.

Artosis: The other day we were talking with the CJ coach, and they mentioned that CJ has a stricter training regimen than pretty much every single team. eSTRO right now how many hours a day are you practicing here?
IdrA: 12 hours a day right now.
Artosis: So is it even possible that CJ could be more strict than eSTRO?
IdrA: Well, I heard rumors that (P)Much practiced like 16 hours a day so it's possible, but I don't really know.

Artosis: Do you think you could take more than 12 hours a day? That has to be really hard to do.
IdrA: Well I have WCG coming up, and I kinda need to win that so that's pretty good motivation. I think I can handle it.

Artosis: Speaking of WCG USA, now last night you just qualified along with (Z)(us)Machine in an epic 2 man qualifier. How do you feel about that?
IdrA: Well it was kinda up in the air until the last second, so I was pretty nervous and tense.
Artosis: No doubt, two spots two players sounds pretty hard to me.

Artosis: WCG USA - you think you're gonna take it home this year?
IdrA: I think so, yeah. I think I have to be the favorite given that I’m playing 12 hours a day and everyone else is doing 4 max or something.

Artosis: But (P)(us)NonY is getting pretty good this year. What do you think his chances are of taking you out?
IdrA: I think he might be the next best or like the next favorite if he gets over his offline nerves, but last year he didn't really perform as well as expected. He's very skilled, but I’d be surprised if he beats me.

Artosis: USA finals - who are you most afraid of?
IdrA: Probably g5 given his style and the maps Troy and Andromeda fit him perfectly. And he’s really abusive, so that’s always scary … and best of three games

Artosis: What are your predictions for the grand final? What non-Korean country is most likely to take home a medal this year?
IdrA: Probably China and hopefully myself. Maybe (P)(pl)Draco if he practices hardcore, but I don't think he will.

Artosis: Now we're going to have the lightning answer round. I’m going to say two things you're going to say which one’s better, alright?
IdrA: Yeah

Artosis: (P)(ca)JF or (P)(us)NonY
IdrA: (P)(ca)JF

Artosis: (Z)(de)Mondragon or (Z)(se)HayprO
IdrA: (Z)(de)Mondragon

Artosis: Germany or Poland
IdrA: Poland

Artosis: Germany or Sweden
IdrA: .... who cares?

Artosis: kimchi or spaghetti
IdrA: spaghetti

Artosis: eSTRO or CJ
IdrA: CJ

Artosis: eSTRO or Air Force ACE
IdrA: ... eSTRO once (T)BoxeR leaves

Artosis: Alright, so one thing really different culture-wise in Korea from USA is everyone shares here.
IdrA: yeah
Artosis: They don't call it stealing; they call it sharing. I'm just wondering now that you're moving you're going around trying to collect all of your belongings, all of your clothes, percentage-wise how many of the original clothes you bought are you going to be leaving the house with?
IdrA: Well, of the practice clothes and stuff I wear every day, just like t-shirts and shorts, I think I’m going to walk away with around 70% of what I came with, but most of my other clothes, that I would wear outside, I still have all of those because they aren't in the laundry very much and people didn't get any chance to share them.
Artosis: You know, someone borrowed my belt and my sandals. Have you seen them?
IdrA: Nope.
Artosis: No? That sucks.
IdrA: Yes, it does.

Artosis: Leaving the eSTRO house who are you going to miss the most?
IdrA: I would have missed (T)NsP_Fancy the most because I was probably the closest with him because of the communication, but he's not in the house right now so I don't know. I guess I’m pretty close to one of the new guys, NSP_ash. He's cool.

Artosis: Yeah Chung Min, he's a cool guy, but wrong answer. You're supposed to say (T)(us)Artosis. Ouch.
IdrA: I’m still going to see you.

Everyone who is a fan of foreigners in Korea should keep an eye out for idea, as CJ Entus is his new home and he will only go up in skill and hopefully make it into pro league and do well there.

From everyone around the world, we wish you a lot of luck (T)IdrA

I'm pretty sure the kid was being cocky on purpose, maybe to just put on a show. I know if I got into CJ Entus as a player, I would do anything I wanted... Besides, his personality just has that quality of I don't give a fuck about other people's opinions, and this is a quality I respect in people. Just because he isn't some humble, mannered every day kid doesn't call for all this flame.

I absolutely love reading all the negative posts on Idra, they make my day lol. He is in korea, and you are not, THE END

wonder what kind of deal did eStro and CJ made. Perhaps:

eStro:
+ They got player from CJ?
+ They get exclusive draft deal with CJ?
+ Perhaps new foreigner joins..?
- They lost one pro license
- something

CJ:
+ Draft deal with eStro? (could be nice when eStro is first one to get draft I suppose)
+ Foreign image
+
- Lost player?

Okay I read the interview again and it was never tooooooo bad, but it was still pretty bad. Look, all I was trying to do was telling the guy I quoted why people were feeling ambivalent on this interview. And Duke, it is rude and disgusting when it's complete disregard to your opponents. Keep these kinds of comments to yourself, imho: "I'd be surprised if he beat me" is just a very bad way of saying it. At least word things better, like when he was talking about G5. He didn't necessarily say he'd lose to G5, but said he was a threat. Give other players the respect they deserve.

Can someone rewrite the interview please?

Slightly edited, but nearly word for word:

Artosis: The other day we were talking with the CJ coach, and they mentioned that CJ has a stricter training regimen than pretty much every single team. eSTRO right now how many days are you practicing here?

Thanks for writing out the interview, really appreciate it. Didn't want to watch the whole thing so I just skimmed this.
