Hey everyone, just got done watching group 10 and thought this was thread worthy.
Game 1 featured FBH vs a much lesser known MBCgame player, Koala on the Jungle map Athena.
I recommend you watch game 1 to set the stage for the second game below, but it's not critical, just know that + Show Spoiler +
FBH of course showed an utter disdain and lack of respect for his opponent by proxying a factory, and later a starport, right outside his main, and along with some cute marine/vulture micro, completely crushed Koala. His brief ceremony was very cute too.
Fast forward to game 5, both players are at 1-1, meeting each other again on Bluestorm... whoever wins this advances:
OMFG... Koala thought he'd give FBH a taste of his own medicine, and looking at the short game length and the cleverly hidden 2nd rax (odds were FBH would only find one, genius move by Koala), I thought FBH was done. He handled it like a champ, and in true Boxer-esque fashion, counter proxied. The marine vs vulture micro at the end litterally made me drop my fucking jaw @ how close it was (fucking HERO vulture). In this macro-infested culture, I haven't been that excited over a game in a LONG time. And the follow-up ceremony was just ROFL, what a baller.
the second game was one of the best and closest games iv seen in awhile. firebathero doesnt get enough credit. although if his tvp wasnt an abomination i think hed make it alot farther in individual leagues (and dare say make the finals possibly)
I am going to tease the hell out of Sungeun for those ceremonies next time I see him - I know his fans thought they were very cute. Nice games tho - I've always liked FBH's do-or-die gaming style.
Evilteletubby, I have to agree with you "In this macro-infested culture, I haven't been that excited over a game in a LONG time. And the follow-up ceremony was just ROFL, what a baller"
I was waiting for someone to post a thread about this game too ^^
I loved the game... Koala's proxi was gold trying to confuse fbh with the rax, but FBH kept his cool and looked really strong
Something I didnt like was FBH's vult micro with the last 2 rines.. it seemed like he was about to lose his last vult T_T
its actually harder to control speed vultures using patrol, especially against slow units like marines because they tend to go in closer than they should
The vulture micro was ok, but against a better player I don't think it would have worked. Koala had the upper hand in that second set but he just didn't have the micro to pull out the win.
my thought, kaola was noob. althoguh he cant do anything with counter proxy, he should've played smarter on the marine micro and not move back and forth.

If he didn't I wouldn't be a fan. You all take this game wayyyyy too seriously.

Wait...what? I'm confused...you're statement could have multiple meanings. Are you a fan because he danced around Savior? Or simply because he danced? Or because he simply did something to Savior?
Regardless, he's got style there's no denying that...
FBH is such a good player, his strategies on bnet attack just show how fearsome progamers were. Koala did all he could Im sure. That scv and marine battle was intense.
Regardless of his ceremonies being somewhat irreverant, thats just the charm of him. If we didn't have people like that in starcraft, then what good is starcraft!? Well it would still be entertaining but these guys do it all day long. might as well have humans be humans once in a while guys.
I enjoyed these games too. I've been an FBH fan since the BC game with Savior but respected him much more as a player after watching FCUK's translated Bnet attack.
His first game finger-wagging mini-ceremony made me laugh out loud.

Koala wasted too much time with his early rines and his 2 scvs,he could have make it at that point.I was like"cmoooooooon do something, attack, make a bunker or something"

Oh definitely, this game highlighted Koala's lack of game sense and FBH's perfect handle on it more than anything else. You could even see it in their faces, Koala looked unsteady, unsure, on edge, and FBH was calm as a mother fucking rock.

It's the second part to his first ceremony.
Edit - broken down, a player needs to win 2 games to advance.
Game 1 he wins easily, gives a cocky "that was easy" look at the camera and throws up 1 finger, to say "There's the first one".
Game 2, being a much closer game, he wins, and does the same thing, puts on his "that was easy" look and throws up 2 fingers, saying "There's the second".
What's baller is that he managed to give the cocky look with a straight face the second game, DESPITE it being so down-to-the-wire, you could see he was holding back a beaming smile which he couldn't contain once he got backstage.
I really like FBH. He's an awesome player (and knows how to get the crowd's attention) but these jaw-dropping games were stuff I never expected.
If just he can improve his TvP. With players such as Jangbi and Stork to practice with, I wonder how his TvP could be that bad, whereas he only has players such as Frozean and Odin to practice for TvZ and TvT -_- Just doesnt make sense imho...

Prolly the beatings that Jangbi and Stork apply to him make him realize how bad he sux at tvp and is never confident when playing a tv match.. he prolly remembers all those times none of his strats worked against those 2 good P's and who knows.. its all mental i guess.. we should have Daniel Lee ask for us

He probably almost never plays with them. First, each of them practices different map for their proleague matches and prepare with team members or online partners. Second - Stork said hes been playing with Flash before Bacchus OGN Starleague and/or GomTV invitational since he was worthy opponent, which makes FBH and other Samsung Ts the opposite. Imo FBH's TvP is used along with January's TvP to test candidates for online practice partners, thats it.

He is the only one I like. The other people are too serious. He at least has a little fun with it.

Err...it's not a game for these guys. They practice as much as any professional athlete does. What's wrong with being serious about something you dedicate 12 hours or more a day toward?

I agree...but I mean...there's always a LOT of money on the line with these games...not to mention your future on the team, and how many toilets you're going to have to clean later on, you know?
cholera casted this game and the rest of the set. it was epic and FBH sucks. i wonder what reach would have done if this dude danced around him. (MANTOSS'D ?!?!)
Well, Starcraft players are in an interesting dilemma. On one hand they can be viewed as entertainers and the other hand they can be viewed as athletes. I think nowadays people see them more as athletes than entertainers~
But I have to say, when a football (either kind) player makes a goal, half the excitement comes from the celebration. Pump up the crowd yo, shift the momentum to your team. In my opinion, Starcraft players should be more celebratory or whatever it's called~
