GOODFRIEND I LOVE YOU. On June 04 2008 10:33 KizZBG wrote: Show nested quote + On June 04 2008 09:12 ScarFace wrote: If only GF was transferred not to Estro, but a decent team. How can anyone expect him to go anywhere with the practice partners he has? Why did he ever join such a shitty team, anyway? Because it was his choice/nobody else wanted him? And there are better terrans on eStro nowadays so their practice partners can't be all that bad. I disagree. How many games have you seen the terrans on eStro win? Upmagic hasn't done anything recently, and as for the rest like Sea.Really, they aren't anything special really. The only thing giving them their two wins is pretty much just the 2v2 team.

The problem did not lie with GoodFriend, but with people not taking advantage of the chance he provided to advance at times ;P. And it would be a tragedy for people to remember him only as a sound board for other players like his game against rA on Parallel Lines. Byung Min was so close to being an OSL champion and he let it slip out of his fingers to July. And, as Letmelose said, GoodFriend was promising to say the least. In my estimation, he showed an enormous amount of potential and just never broke through that barrier. Finally, his biggest mistake was leaving Pantech& Curitel to join KTF.

It's depressing to see players that seemingly have never met their full potential leave. But I guess that's the definition of a sport.

I don't think he let it 'slip out of his fingers', July finally just claimed what was rightfully his. GF never had ANY flair. There was no 'sense of star'. He lacks that something special that sets him above the rest. That's something that July had, hence why he deservedly won. Finally, his biggest mistake was leaving Pantech& Curitel to join KTF. I agree completely with you there. Pre-Flash, KTF's slogan was "KTF: Where careers go to die"

ETT, ManaBlue, Carnac and the list goes on and on. Maybe I'll make a go of liquibet next season. I don't think he let it 'slip out of his fingers', July finally just claimed what was rightfully his. I would agree that maybe that characterization isn't complete, but I suppose what I meant is that it took July 5 games and then some to claim what was rightfully his ;P. It was that close! GF never had ANY flair. There was no 'sense of star'. He lacks that something special that sets him above the rest. That's something that July had, hence why he deservedly won. And see, that's where the differences lie. Too often the appreciation of a player's prowess is denied because it lacks style. That was a lot of the struggle for recognition for NaDa when people felt BoxeR overshadowed him merely for his charisma. I even persecuted oov for this but I still acknowledged his achievements. There's no doubt that GoodFriend did not have a style per se or a signature, but that isn't such a bad thing from the perspective of a player. It may not be entertaining, but it wins games. (sometimes) The trick is finding the beauty of the game despite that, and yes you can find it ;P. I'm afraid if I continue I'll start to ramble, so I'll stop. <3 ETT

I still laughed. That was a great SL. Then there was the SL before that where Rainbow got the SCV all kill and the island carrier come back. LOL. O GF, what a heroic bust.
