Hahahahahahaha.... Richard Gere lookalike <3
Anyways, I share Carnac's sentiments... I've never hid my dislike for GF, he should have been gone from the proscene a long time ago.

Goodfriend was pretty good back in the day, his TvT anyways.
I always thought that GF had more potential than he did show

So many players leaving so fast... Goodfriend was always a great guy to watch. He will be missed =(.

Goodfriend was a tremendously gifted player. It's a shame that people will probably only remember him for falling victim to a select few players in very memorable matches such as his game against Nal Ra in Parallel Lines or his game versus July in match 5 of the Ever Starleague finals. I think people on TL seem to have this odd dislike against GF for whatever reasons, but you gotta acknowledge the fact that we are saying goodbye to one of the best terran players to ever grace the stage.
If I remember correctly, he was probably one of the last players who managed to "burst" into the progaming scene by qualifying for his debut MSL as a semi-amateur status. He knocked the defending champion Nal Ra into the losers' round by defeating him in his debut MSL match, and went on to get 4th place. I don't think we'll ever see this kind of feat again what with the level of play rising so much and the restrictions set on non-team gamers.
It saddens me so much that players that I grew up watching are suddenly retiring left and right. Players like Goodfriend, July and Oov (the so-called "Gillette generation") were the players I admired, watched and learned from. I'll miss the fact that Goodfriend was once the only player that seemed to be able to hold his own against Oov-in-his-prime, the hilarious pictures he managed to create, the great matches he played against legends of old and the fact that I rooted against him all the time because I hated all terran players. Starcraft was so much fun back then. It's like with a part of the fun dies in me when these players leave the stage.
It's so harsh that once top players can fall to nothing like this just like this. All the active, and retiring progamers, even the ones I barely remember, have my greatest respect because they managed to make it at the top, and to do this they needed more skill and dedication than is normally humanly possible (at least in my eyes).
Progamers, the retiring ones as well, I salute you. Best of luck in your future days...

If only GF was transferred not to Estro, but a decent team. How can anyone expect him to go anywhere with the practice partners he has? Why did he ever join such a shitty team, anyway?
|
Oh god, no, why, WHY!??! Of all the others you oculd have picked you had to pick these two!! WHY!??!?!?!?
Cool[fou] was so cool... T_T He had a fiarly awesome ZvT( before he became awe inspiring in 2v2!)
As for GoodFriend, I don't think i need to say anything...
