SK텔레콤 T1 최연성이 선수 생활을 완전히 마무리하고 코치로 새로운 시작을 발표했다.
Iloveoov from SKT1 has announced his retirement as a progamer and his new position as the T1's new coach.
최연성은 지난 8일 자신의 팬카페에서 팬들에게 남긴 설날 인사를 통해 현재 자신의 근황 및 심경을 밝히면서 선수 생활 은퇴와 코치 변신을 공식화했다.
On the 8th of Feb., Iloveoov left a letter on his Fan Cafe website telling them what's been happening and the new big change.
최연성의 은퇴 및 코치 변신의 가장 큰 이유는 손목 부상. “팬들과 같이 호흡하고 즐거워하며 4회, 5회 우승을 하고 싶었고, 성적을 못 내더라도 30대 프로게이머의 근성을 보여주고 싶었다”는 최연성은 “하지만 손목 부상으로 인해 지속적인 게이머 생활은 힘들다고 판단해서 은퇴를 결정했다”고 밝혔다.
The biggest reason for the retirement was his wrist injury. (He fell while taking a shower)
"I wanted to to win 4th, 5th championship while enjoying the times together with my fans. I wanted to show that a progamer could play even into his 30's. But I decided that it would be very difficult to continue my career as a progamer after sustaining the wrist injury." - Iloveoov
때마침 SK텔레콤은 지난 1월 23일 감독을 포함한 코칭스태프 전원을 경질했고, 이 과정에서 최연성에게 코치직을 제의해 최연성은 박용욱과 함께 플레잉 코치로 승격된 바 있다.
Coincidentally, SKT1 fired all of its coaching staff on the 23rd of January. SKT1 asked Oov to fill in the new open position and he hinted that he wanted to be the "playing coach" along with Kingdom.

What the fuck? It's tragic in the sense that his career as a progamer ended so suddenly, and from something like that.
Thanks for the factual information about accidental deaths in the house though, it was very much needed.

IloveOOv is one of my favorite players ever. And one of the first retirements of a player that isn't super old school.

Sad. I thought he just didn't care about the game as much anymore, but his wrist injury was that bad? It's depressing when players aren't able to play because of an injury. They should take baths only from now on.

One of the greatest Terran players ever, I really loved his low-APM-macro-style. But at least he's not entirely gone.

Nada will be happy about this news, oov just killed him so many times. I don't even remember when Nada win a series against oov.
