1. UpMagiC - I took notice of him after his Shinhan performance against AnyTime on RLT and have been following him since. He didn't make my list of loved players completely though until his win over rA on nemesis.
2. Yellow - His starleague runs have always been inspiring and unfortunate that he always gets beat down by the eventual champion. Still, he always puts up a good fight and always provides good games.

1- Yellow, the storm zerg, the only one who was able to face Boxer back in the days. I started watching progaming at the time of coca cola osl, he always looked like a very cool and relaxed guy, i like his style and his personality.

This one goes to Casy for being neo-Sync, winning OSL instead of a deserving veteran abusing his only really great mu and then disapearing to offline qualifications where he belongs because he does'nt know how to tvp.
I hate him more than Sync because he stopped Yellow from his last shot at winning osl and i prefer Yellow to HOT.

Boxer, if you visited this site and followed progaming at all about 2 years ago I was all over the boards raving about Boxer. When I actually met the man it was more than I expected and one of the most exciting times of my life. Nothing will ever replace this emperor.
My #2 has changed over the years, and some of you oldies may seem surprised that Nada is my #2 after all the hate I used to pour into threads with his games. After the incident with his father, and the pure will he has to win, not to mention cementing himself as the most accomplished bw player of all time, he has become one of the last standing pillars of old-generation brood-war progamers. I am just genuinely happy to see this man win now, whereas before I wanted nothing less than him being crushed so Boxer could take the throne of most accomplished player.

SKT1 is a monster, and always has been. I don't follow progaming lately but I heard July was picked up. Oov was born from this team, the player with arguably the greatest domination period in progaming. Kos, intotherain's student, Kingdom, Canata, AnomiA, GoRush. Just an incredible team with players I loved to watch. Boxer's team always produces great things.

When I rejoined the scene, Bisu was on top. It is a short way just to pick the current #1, but there are reasons: Bisu looks so fragile in his gameplay, so elegant but yet so breakable if something bad happens, like someone walking a thin rope between high buildings. I love that style.
Nada because what this man has done in the past and is still doing now is downright impressive. Still on top of the scene, spreading his proleague wins over a longer period than anyone else. Nada is a unique phenomenon, despite Boxer, oov, Savior, whoever.
Favorite Team:
MBC hands down. What I love about them is that they are such a volatile mixture. Sometimes it is calm, sometimes it explodes, sometimes it is delicious, sometimes it is just frustrating. Gotta love that.

I was not around when his period of domination was, maybe that would reverse my opinion. But when I see him nowadays, he somehow wins, somehow loses, without much flavour to it, he looks totally obnoxious while doing so, like a fat spoiled kid.

Bisu because I knew that he would be a Bonjwa since he beat Boxer in that ODT (even though it hurt my heart), and he proved me right. And even before that I remember looking at his reppack and seeing perfect execution of builds. Also how emotionless he looks while playing.
NaDa because he's the greatest player ever, perfect mechanics and that speed. Perfect mix of solid play and flair when necessary.

It's so very tough to reduce favorite players to two. Do I go with the old-school favorites who made the game what it is, or do I go with my new-school favorites whose play makes my jaw hit the floor?

Kang Min is my old school favorite, the dreamer. Only he can proxy cannon / robo facility against Terran and win. He's also the most stylish progamer around
Lee Jae Dong is the most impressive player playing right now. His style is absolutely devastating, from some of the best micro I've seen to silky smooth late game management. Lee JD has it all.
Boxer/Upmagic/Bisu/FBH/Flash/Light i considered.
Everybody mentioned Boxer already. Lets face it though, Boxer is the one reason why there is a huge progaming scene, and that deserves recognition

Hwasin is lame, seriously... he beat FBH once and made it sound like he won the osl. FBH maybe is cocky, but that doesnt mean you can give a "pwned ya in the face" speech after beating him once, not to mention he did lose to FBH before that game. Its ok to trash talk, but do it when you have results.

Savior because he's just the f'ing man. He changed starcraft forever. There was almost this evil presence that followed him into games when he was in his prime because you knew he would crush his opponent. His 6th sense was unexplainable.

Nada took Terran and was one of the best at fighting straight-up with the strengths of the race (high firepower, ranged attack, and cost-effectiveness). And he has an awesome personal story.
Savior, more than any other Zerg player I've seen, doesn't let his opponent dictate the game flow--he was always "on top." And I like players who do that.

I just about always root for Protoss, so take that into account:
1) Reach - He did it when no one else was doing it for protoss. I still say the OSL he won by beating Boxer in the finals was some of the highest level playing I've ever seen.
2) Nal_rA - You just never knew what you were going to get
3) Garimto - KIM DONG SOOOOOOOOOOOO
For non-protoss players, I always liked Chojja...just seemed like a class act. I also liked HOT Forever...I just thought he was cool. These days watching Jaedong play is really enjoyable for me...but I can't say I'm rooting for him.
I don't really have favorite teams and there aren't really players that I hate either.

BoxeR was the first player that wowed me. XellOs was the second. Oddly enough XellOs is my favorite player because he was damn good at Terran and he was also handsome. If I were to idolize a player, why idolize an ugly nerd? XellOs's TvZ and TvT were unbelievably sexy. His TvP was also very good but not amazing.

I personally am no big fan of any team, but I do love and hate some players. For example, I could say that XellOs is my favorite player hence CJ is my favorite team. But I hate sAviOr. So I can't love CJ but I can't hate CJ. Na wadda mean? Each team has players I like and players I don't like. I think the team with the LEAST amount of players I hate is MBC Game Hero. I don't really hate anybody on that team.

I will forever hate ShinHwa for robbing BoxeR of advancing further into Shinhan OSL. I hate sAviOr because he (used to be) so good. He almost pushed Zerg to perfection. He played too well. What I enjoyed about SC was the imperfections that people used to win. sAviOr imho ruined how TvZs were played. He introduced his stupid 3 hatch mutalisk and now I never see TvZ Sync status play. It's always FE first.
Naturally when I see a match I root for the Terran player. If there's no Terran I root for the Protoss. If there's neither Terran or Protoss what's the point in watching? Haha.

Firebathero is a good player, regardless of his mannerisms. His TvT is intuitive, his TvZ is sharp and abusive, his TvP wins are rare but golden. I think he's highly misunderstood, I think he just wants to have some fun, after all, taking things too seriously ain't all that great.
Bisu has given hope for players struggling with PvZ. Sair/ Dt abuse. Mastered the physics to the point where game gravity doesn't matter, he defies all means of zerg momentum.
Julyzerg is fascinating, when he wins, he does it in amazing fashion, but when he loses, it still damn entertaining, especially his recent game vs bisu was quite cool, using mutas to snipe hts while attacking the front with pure hydralisks....if only he could control his aggression and learn some patience sometimes...His games vs goodfriend many moons ago, such wonder!

Who can hate Nada? He is the only old-school player who can compete against the best new-generation players consistently. He was top-3 KeSPA FOREVER. He wins some sort of tournament at least once every single year. He is the perfect terran, with a good mix of macro, micro, and strategy. Charismatic, exciting play, coupled with the most illustrious BW career ever.
Hwasin always seems to be the underdog whenever he plays serious matches, but he always performs well. I really like his sick timing-oriented playstyle, which leads to very exciting games. Plus he resembles Lee Jun-ki.

Bisu brought about an understandable level of balance to the very last matchup that lacked it. Z>P is now based entirely on the skill of the player. NaDa because he is the first complete progamer to make it a stamp of honor. Strong matchups in every way, a new TvP style and a combination of Micro/Macro. However, more than anything else it is his absolutely dogged attitude. Three different OSL's in three different eras, the last after emotional Trauma, the third osl being a feat no other has accomplished.

I think something interesting to note is that so many people hate Bisu, but almost no one hates Jaedong. Is it because Bisu dethroned savior so violently and upfront, perhaps combined with the fact that he didn't settle in as a bonjwa by the time Jaedong took his place? Garimto cause he showed that with toss you can beat even the most dominant player (boxer in his days) and Bisu for proving that statement (3:0ed the maestro and all the aftermath of this match)

Not only for Boxer, actually Boxer is not in my top 5 favorite players, but the IDEA (looks like IKEA) of the team is great, and still they managed to make some heartbreaking matches like with samsung and mbc game. The ACE team is cult - just look at OverSky, DaezanG and wow ChRh

1) 3-0 savoir
2) Bisu build is extremely defensive and frustrating to play against if you are the zerg, it forces the zerg to make an effort to attack while the toss just sits back and build up and harass. This is the equivalent of a turtling terran who bunkers himself in. Offense will always be more popular than Defense in any type of sport/game.

No puppets on strings like skt, not a happy retirement scheme like ktf (not lately though), the coach doesnt look like a gangster, alcoholic or a car salesman (skt, stx, pantech respectively) and i like most players (xellos is a bit overhyped, but thats all). MBC would be second if the format allowed it.

So hard to pick players here because I love many of them. But Boxer is not only creative. Aside from being the father of SC strategy and micro style, he's also a very well-mannered guy. I always liked him, but after I saw him giving a bow to the audience after his loss(!) I knew he's the man.
On the other hand, Bisu is the guy who is a personal favorite. His play is not too good now, but he made me rethink StarCraft entirely. He made everything possible when noone even considered it and he started the unprecedented protoss age goddamn 8 years after the game's release. Respect.

They are funky and never boring. Not the most consistent team (actually, all "star" players there are known for never being a dominating force), but when they ride their wave, they bring excellent StarCraft.

UpMagiC because he does not follow normal rules of Starcraft, he cares not if a map is considered inbalanced. He is a player that adapts and execute unorthodox strategies with immense precision while still being able to play in normal ways with style! I also love his humble attitude, yet still not meek. Chalrenge. I absolutely love his cocky attitude, the look on his face when the camera switches over to him while playing. I love his ceremonies, because they represent his character very well. I don’t think you can hate the Emperor of Terran.
I dislike him a lot but that is because he is to glorified by people and cheesing isn’t really an art, it’s a trick to win vs better opponent (In My Book). But I certainty don’t hate him.

ou my, thats just so untrue. Bisu feels most confident in the mid/late game and the bisubuild is pointed in bringing the game to this state. bisubuild is unique and like many said it totally changed the game after 8 years. the only way to work is to harass non-stop the other player and this is possible due to the inhuman multitasking of bisu... i've just watch garimto vs boxer last game on incubus and its just surprising to see how the game have changed.

1. Savior - He's painful to watch these days, but I just don't think there's any possible matchup where I'd root against him.
2. Jaedong - Tough decision between him and Stork. But in nearly every ZvT or ZvP I watch, if I zone out or don't know who's playing, I find myself rooting for the Zerg. So I guess Jaedong takes it.

Ya I was thinking about how frustrating it would be to play ZvP against Bisu. Your drones constantly get killed, you attacks get raped, your drops get raped, your ovies die, and etc. All you can do is sit and watch him expo...oh maybe ur drones dying too
