Requiem For A Mani: A tribute to our fearless leader
Friends. As you are now aware, our Dr. Breene has decided to take leave of his position as administrator for Teamliquid.net (anyone who gets that, +1 internet). I like many of you, had a great deal of respect for Mani\'s progressive style of leadership and incredible contributions to the community as a whole.
Let this thread be a tribute to the wonderful times we\'ve had with Manifesto7. I implore you all to make your own contributes - cheerfuls, videos, etc.
Heres to you Mani - through the good times and the bad, you lead us far and we are in debt to your dedication.
1)A card from various members of the community
feel free to sign resign this card and reupload it again in a post (in spoilers). I will update.
2)Tribute video by Hot_Bid. This man is like the Roman Polanski of tear wrenching teamliquid movies.
3)An epic conclusion(?) to the TLT Saga by Yubee!
4)What did a sample of TL's regulars have to say about Mani?
The only reward of virtue is virtue; the only way to be a starcraft legend when youre a redheaded American stuck in Japan is to run a SC site. -Beyonder
Sweet is the memory of distant redheaded Manlifesto\'s. Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart. - Beyonder posing as Moltke
The communist manifesto is something which no one should have to read - Moltke
Even though I only played Mani in 4 games, 3 of which I won easily, it felt like I\'ve been noob bashing him for years. -Yubee
Manifesto has shown us that, despite being a Canadian and a redhead, one can still be loved by thousands of males on the internet. Big ups. *pours out strawberry smoothie* -vGl-CoW
\"If Erik the red knew about progaming, he would call himself Manifesto7\" - IntoTheWow
\"Trevor: youza nigga Trevor: i give you all this love and this is the thanks i get? fuck you, and fuck your bitch you fuck tonight. You get the pussy and I get the ass. I wanna come back to korea. If I had to pick between receiving 1 billion dollars or meeting Manifesto7 in real life, I would with no regrets do both. - Hot_Bid
5) I am happy to announce that thanks to PoP, whenever you type the great red man's name it will be autoconverted to Manifesto7 :D .
Feel free to make your own contributions in this thread, or leave mani a few words of man(i)-love. Also, a big thanks to everyone who helped get this put together, namely yubee, hot_bid, and the IRC crew.

I couldn't have said it better myself in 517 words + images. I'll miss your redness mani. This would be an awesome time for me to have 1337 photoshop/video/audio/any skill in general to make a contribution.
Manifesto7 is one of the coolest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet/work with in this community. For the last several years he has been my consultant, my co-worker, and my friend. He will be missed - but as we know SC is a disease. He will return. I have faith. :D After 10 years in this community there are few people I respect as much as him.
lol, mani last action as a mod will be to ban everyone that doesn't know him?
just send an automated message to every TLaccount. "Who is mani?" If you have not respended within 24 hours with a PM containing the words "Manly", "Red" and "The Man" (just to make everything automatic), you will be of to disneyland.
Mani <3<3<3<3<3 much love and respect for a fellow father im surprised you were able to achive so much here while still doing the "Reallife" stuff. Is he comign to wcg world finals?and if so im giving him free sex the entire time im there.
Manifesto7 i owe you a lot, you let me back onto this site after i made a spectacle out of myself twice, you gave me a second chance and when is stepped out you reminded me my place, this won't be the same without you. See you around.
Manifesto7 this one is for you man. Over the years you have put my life in the right direction after reading all of your proleague news. Thank you for uploading all the screenshots, and vods for those matches. The torch will always be lit here at TL.net.
Please keep well on your journey to fatherhood. You have changed my life. Peace Brotha and keep in touch with us always.
I hope you get all sorted out soon, you had busy year, lost something loved but gained also new love, your friends you will find always here. GL Mani and hug the baby
We certainly have had our differences but we all share a collective heart and passion for StarCraft and its community; I can only wish you well. Don't stray too far and enjoy the break; godspeed red bearded beast, StarCraft 2 awaits us all ~
i feel manifesto7 is an excellent leader as he has achieved that valuable balance between interacting with the posters on a personal level/being accountable to them, yet knowing when to draw the line and be harsh.
the fact that tl.net is still running smoothly and is in good hands without him is also commendable. even so, come back soon, you're sorely missed!
"I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of SC2. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without macro. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you." MANIFESTO7 PS. " I'll be back " - MANIFESTO7
You have been a great ambassador of the foreign fanbase for Korean gaming. You are admired not only by us here at teamliquid, but your dedication is also known throughout the Korean community. Thank you.
Thank you very much, especially for the picture of the gladiator where I am represented as a pair of testicles. I really appreciate it.
Over the past few months, but especially after I got back from my holidays in Canada, I knew that I would have to give up this gig sooner or later. My life is basically reaching the point where I cannot invest the amount of time and energy required to do my job satisfactorily. I have a litany of reasons, but the sum of those are that I cannot do a job at the level I wish. Even if I could, I do not have the time to enjoy starcraft, by playing or watching games. It is not acceptable for me to spend my time working on a subject that I cannot enjoy myself as well.
I am not disappearing, please do not call the consulate again, and I still want to post. However, if my name was still red, I would never be able to turn off the "work mode" I felt when on the staff. Hopefully I will still be able to contribute, but this time on my own schedule, when it works out for me.
I have full confidence in haji and the other staff members to keep this baby rolling as long as we all feel the need for it. Hopefully some time in the future I will be able to return to a more active role on the site.
Cheers.
As a reward for reading all of this, I give you a present.
Mani, you've continually provided TL with a textbook example of the type of effort and dedication it takes to make a truly great community tick. Thanks for all you've done and here's to the best in your new life as one of the unwashed (non-mod) masses.
Though we hardly ever talked, I bow deeply before you, Manifesto, for all your work and time you have invested in this site, which was truly inspirational. I hope to see you here again in the future.
Back in 2004 I would play games with manifesto and hang in op gg-manner. One day he told me to check out tl.net, since it was the greatest thing that happened with SC coverage. I did and havent stopped coming here since. Thank you Manifesto for introducing me to this great site, and being such a great staff member!
Thanks for all your hard work. Imho you were the hardest working and most fair admin. Thanks for the good times! It will be impossible for anyone to follow in your steps.
