We have seen an amazing upsurge of SC:R content coming out of the foreign scene this year, with a magnificent Season 10 of the Bombastic StarLeague, another huge year for the Russian Cyber Games, a great beginning to STPL's Season 4, and BWCL is still running strong with a record number of teams in its Season 52!
Dewalt and Bonyth are no strangers to each other. They have met in numerous tournaments and events. Recently, Bonyth won 4:2 over Dewalt in the Bombastic StarLeague S10 grand finals while in 2018 Dewalt won 3:2 over Bonyth in the finals of the Defiler Mega Tour. We asked both of these giants how they felt about their upcoming show match.
[tQ]: Greetings Executor Bonyth! You defeated Dewalt 4:2 in the grand finals of Season 10 of the Bombastic Star League, winning your third consecutive BSL championship title. However, you were unable to make it to the grand finals of the 2020 Russian Cyber Games, despite taking home the title in the previous year. Do you feel Dewalt's recent victory in RCG 2020 has threatened your hold on the crown? How do you feel about going head to head with one of Aiur's greatest representatives outside of Korea in a 9-game show match?
Bonyth: It's not the player's job to mark himself as the best in the foreign scene, it's the people’s. I've never seen myself as the best, I only want to get better and better, even when the people see me as undisputed number 1. I see Dewalt as the most formidable opponent right now, this is why I accepted the show match (among other reasons).
[tQ]: En Taro Adun Bonyth!
[tQ]: Greetings Executor Dewalt! You were recently crowned the Champion of the 2020 Russian Cyber Games, after claiming second place in Season 10 of the Bombastic Star League and losing 2:4 to Bonyth in the grand finals. During the Russian Cyber Games, you defeated the very strong “sauna toss” OyA 3:0 in a PvP, while Bonyth defeated OyA 3:1. Given these results, how do you feel about duking it out with Bonyth in a 9-game show match on new maps?
Dewalt: I was sure that I'm going to play in the finals of RCG2020 against Bonyth but he didn't reach the finals, so this showmatch is a great chance to do it. I think the new maps will not matter too much for this match, since Me and Bonyth are not very familiar with them and for PvP matchup maps do not matter so much.
[tQ]: En Taro Adun Dewalt!
Please consider watching and donating to this epic 9-game show match between arguably the top two foreign players. The prize will be distributed according to game wins, so every single game win will be financially important (worth $61 currently at the $606 prize pool)!
The map pool will consist of new maps called Blindside, Charmander and Desert Dwellers by the American map maker Minerals. Why only these maps? Because we want to support a talented foreign map maker who is competing in pro map contests by featuring his work in a major event. Also, both Bonyth and Dewalt are not very familiar with these maps so their games will be even more interesting in some ways. Finally, we would like to encourage donations for a future LIVE re-showmatch on ladder maps if our second stretch goal ($900) is met. All donations go towards the prize pool.
We want to thank Des for generously donating $200 which helped persuade Bonyth and Dewalt to spoil us with 9 whole games. Also, a big thank you is owed to CRVT for donating $250 and a note of gratitude to other donators as well! Our first stretch goal has been met and all nine replays will be released to community members in this thread after the stream event on January 30th, 2021 starting at 19:30 CET.
I'd like to graciously thank crvt for donating $250! Because of his generous contribution, all nine replays of this epic PvP will be released to community members here after the stream event.
Amazing! Thank you for organizing this and thanks for the players for participation! Hope it will be a close series!
I like both players but gogo Bonyth! Although I feel that Dewalt is stronger now by a tiny bit. Nevertheless it's going to be a celebration of Starcraft.

I asked permission from TL admins to share Nemu's analysis of the Bonyth vs Dewalt showmatch. Why? Apparently he's banned from this forum (lol) but is a big fan of these two players, so I wanted to include his passionate comment in this historical thread. Here is Nemu:
"I want to be respectful and say 5-4 Dewalt but I believe the truth shall be closer to 6-3 Dewalt. I'll share something else in terms of prediction/understanding I believe might not be in any analysis. Although both players have extremely good micro/macro/multitask/experience they do have certain stronger minutes. Regardless of score this is what I believe is true. Up to 5minutes - Bony edge, although Dewalt can surely pull off an agro micro build even he would have it rough. Up to 10minutes - Dewalt edge, although Bony is fine at this stage I believe Dewalt's preparation and execution are deadly at this time. Up to 15-20minutes - Bony edge, this is by far the best chance and minute mark for him to close games as Dewaltu blossoms after. Up to minute 40 - Dewalt edge, his multitask is by far the best in the game, especially in mid/late game so how ever the game plays out nothing funky should disturb his dominance and pressure. If 40+minutes - Bony edge, if the game gets this long and "old" bones survives his overall slight edge in experience and calmness shall show him a way to victory. Both are loved equally so the pleasure shall be in it's experience and may the best man win"

Haha, this prediction is a very enjoyable read!
Yeah. But is it mainly about the first or a single game? What about the other 8 xD
Bonyth and Dewalt showmatch stream event must be postponed until after the New Year! Sorry = (
Dear Bonyth and Dewalt fans, please accept our sincere apologies, but our wonderful players have had important life matters come up during this holiday season and need to postpone their showmatch. They had scheduled a time to play their games before our scheduled stream event for December 22, but unfortunately something has come up in their lives and they are unable to find another time to play before our stream. Please understand that they have family and work lives too.
We will announce the final day and time of the stream event once the games have been played to avoid any further confusion. The time of the stream will be the same (22:00 CET) but the day will most likely be after the New Year.
I do apologize for this on behalf of the players but it could not be avoided. The players tried their best to reschedule before our event but there simply was no way. I hope everyone can wait until immediately after the New Year to watch these two gentlemen put on one hell of a show for us.
I hope with everything going on, both of them and their family's are well.
From California with love, I hope all of you find something wonderful and hope-giving. May we all make it through this dark. Glad to have some neat content pop, the week before ASL.
Reminder: Bonyth vs Dewalt showmatch stream event which was scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed until further notice! Players had to cancel due to personal circumstances and are rescheduling their matches in the New Year!
Bonyth and Dewalt have agreed to play their 9-game showmatch next week so we are announcing the stream event for January 30 2021 starting at 19:30 CET to give us enough time to promote it. The original post has been updated*
Below I have written about the rationale of announcing our new stream event before the games have even been played in case anyone is interested.
Normally, I would wait to have the replays before announcing a new stream date, but I have been told that the games will definitely be played early next week, and waiting until then to announce the new stream date would only leave us a few days to promote the event. So we decided it was best to announce it now ahead of time, which gives us more than a week to spread the word about it.
Also I start streaming our best of the best tournament showmatches every Friday and Saturday after January 30th for the next few months so unfortunately I could not consider waiting to get the replays next week, and then scheduling a stream event for February 6th or something. I hope this makes sense to people. And I do apologise about the long delay and for having to set this up again.

I accept your bet. I will place $100 on Bonyth. If he wins more games in the series, and I win the bet ($200 presumably), I will donate half ($100) to Dewalt and the other half to Bonyth ($100). Please let me know if I understood your conditions and if my bet is valid.
I can't lose because 1) Bony stands a very good chance, 2) betting with Rus_Brain and paying him if i lose for all he does for BW is an honour, 3) if I lose my money is going to RCG 2021 prize pool and 4) giving more money to Bonyth and Dewalt if i win would be a huge plus
GGs to both Bonyth and Dewalt. Was a great event, and I enjoyed hearing from Bonyth in the interview at the end. Looking forward to the Best of the Best showmatch series next week! (edited)

thanks y'all
I felt the same, but shorter games are extremely intense and exciting in their own ways too. However, Bonyth explained why the games were relatively short during his interview. Good news? A future (live) re-showmatch will happen sometime since we obtained our stretch goals thanks to our wonderful donators <3
Thanks to our donators (especially Des, CRVT and Tofucakes), we reached both of our funding goals and all replays as promised are being released in our relevant thread here. If you wish to cast these games, could you kindly inform me about it beforehand on Team Liquid or on our discord server please and give proper credit to the organizers of the event. And if possible, please give a shoutout to Rus_Brain and esportfund. I hope this is not too much to ask for. Thank you for your consideration.
tbh I liked when Artosis did this news panel much more.. he kinda actually knew stuff about the BW scene, while this bald dude doesnt really seem to give a shit..
